If I had to choose between the two I would take Jada. Simply because of her being a QB on the floor and her game management.
She's kinda overshadowed but #23 Reynolds is a great player in her own right. She played a tremendous game last night to keep McKenzie close.

Great game. McKenzie losing Davis in the 1st half for sure hurt, she is in my opinion the best player on the floor among a bunch of outstanding players. Think Westviews zone made McKenzie play slower than they wanted to.

Westview @ McKenzie tonight. Probably the best 1a and 2a teams in the state facing off in what may be the best early season game of the season. Got to go with the Rebels in a battle between to superb teams.

That gibberish mean something in Huntingdon?
Congrats on your loss to the obviously better team.
Riverside is very talented. As good or better than the Mustangs. Just had to get over that hump! Played a very clean game against Huntingdon which they had to do to win. Riverside is a top notch program. Now they need to upgrade their facilities.

I think we can arrange that. I am going to do a final ranking next week and then maybe take a few weeks off. Then we can do a thread where everyone gives their input on what their teams have coming back and have everyone make a case for where their team should be in the ranking to start next year.
Region play going to be a lot of fun next season!

Well what do you think about the top 10 now? Does it look right to you??
I like it. Would love to see a Mckenzie-Haywood matchup. I would like to see how good McKenzie really is. Mustangs about right where they are. Still not sold on USJ. Have enjoyed your poll. What about a way to early top 10 for next year?

Some big time games last night caused some shifting in the rankings. Riverside pulled the big time upset and McKenzie shut out MASE. So are these the top 10 teams in rural west tn? One more week to go and we will have the final rankings to see who the top dawgs are in West TN.
1. Haywood 13-1
T2. McKenzie 14-0
T2. Henry Co. 11-3
4. Riverside 12-2
5. Munford 11-1
6. USJ 10-2
7. Huntingdung 11-3
8. Covington 11-3
9. Union City 10-3
10. Peabody 10-3
Outside Looking In: Westview (9-3), Lexington (9-4), Milan (9-4), JCS (10-2), Dyersburg (8-5), Lake Co. (8-4), Dresden (9-3), South Gibson (7-5)
I wouldn't call Riversides win over Huntingdon a big upset. I've been trying to tell you all year that you had Riversde underrated. The Panthers lost 4 fumbles against the Mustangs the first go round. The Panthers are a quick, very athletic team. They controlled our offense much better than anyone else on our schedule. If the Panthers can keep their heads on straight this week I think they have a good shot at a gold ball in Chattanooga!

Yea but we aren’t. Give these two teams credit for making it this far. Riverside was my week one pick and Huntingdon won me over. Two great teams. Waverly will get their shot at one of these two in the coming years. We can’t seem to beat Huntingdon for some reason. 2017 was one of the best games I watched. @Croppygenius wouldn’t you agree?
One of those who has the ball last wins type game. Two great quarterbacks going at it. Numerous great plays, great game to watch.

Croppy, were you sitting on about the 2nd row right behind and to the left of the bench?
Yep that was me. Stayed on the refs pretty good. They definitely treated yall like the defending state champs last night.

Monday games of interest
McKenzie 82 Huntingdon 58
Dresden 53 Peabody 47
McKenzie played an awesome game against my Fillies last night. I don't know if anybody in the state could have beaten them! They shoot the 3 better than anyone I've seen. Davis is really good and the older Reynolds girl may be just as good. I saw Wayne Co play Summertown and was very impressed, but McKenzie is just on another level. Among the best single A teams I've ever seen.

Enjoy it while you can old man….
This old man has enjoyed watching this young Mustang team play immensely. I expect the Bulldogs will return to their glory days before long but not before a string of losses to the Mustangs. The Mustangs have a load of talent coming through the system and should ge outstanding the next 4 or 5 years. When our sophomore qb leaves in 2 years we have his younger brother ready to take over. He may be better than #9!

UC will have a better plan to stop that passing game and the line will come to play and slow down their rushing attack more than before. UC by a touchdown.
Both teams I'm sure learned a lot from the last matchup. Mustangs adjustments at halftime in the last game limited the Tornaters to about 75 yds rushing in the 2nd half. Mustangs won the 2nd half. Most teams that win the 2nd half win the game. This game should be an old fashioned throw back kind of game. A very physical slugfest that will be won at the line of scrimmage. I'm picking the Mustangs because they know they can win. Union City thinks they can win, but don't know it.

Is this MASE team better than last years MAHS squad that beat Huntingdon last year in the 2nd round.

They played a heck of a game tonight. Next week will be a fight.
Mustangs lost 3 fumbles tonight. Can't do that next week.

And the bright side of it is the finances. Big game after big game every week should mean cashflow. People like to watch good football and good football teams travel well.
It's been a lot of fun playing a super tough schedule this year for the Mustangs. It's like having a string of most important game of the year week after week. Huntingdon fans have through history loved playing tough competition. This region is so loaded just think of how many excellent coaches their are in the region. As a fan you can't ask for much more.

Thanks! I don't remember ever playing them, but I wasn't sure if there had been a meeting before my time.
They didn't play high school football back in the 1800's!

The only way to satisfy croppy is put Huntdung at #1 in all polls and heck with everyone else.
Naw I think the Mustangs are ranked about right. We're a young team that's over achieved all year. I haven't seen USJ play but I've seen a lot of the top teams in west Tennessee play. Heck we've played most of them. I know USJ is good but they just haven't proved to me that they're top 5 team, maybe a fringe top 10. Guess I need to watch a replay but there's so much you can't see or feel on a TV broadcast.

They were overrated early on in this poll. I know Riverside beat them pretty soundly in pre-season so I had my doubts early on. Though it's no shame to lose to Riverside. I think they're a real threat to represent the west.

Your right, Hardin county does not have one quality win this season. The three best teams on their schedule they have lost to. But my question to you is , who has them overrated? They started season high in the poll based off what people think and when they started losing games they slid down. Just don’t get the overrated comment, but I’ll respect your opinion

I expect a physical ground battle between 2 of the best young teams in West Tennessee. I've watched these Union City kids play in middle school so it's no surprise to me how much improved they are. I think the Mustangs match up better against the Tornado's than they did against Westview and Peabody. We're much better against the run than the pass. As usual the game will probably be decided by who makes the fewest mistakes. " Knock on hard wood" the biggest strength of this Mustang squad has been taking care of the ball. When you can move the ball on the ground like the Mustangs do and not turn it over you're extremely hard to beat.
Riverside coming to Huntingdon (semi finals)

I would be shocked. Eric loves what he's doing plus the talent the Mustangs have going from grades 7 thru 12 is outstanding. These Huntingdon kids are a joy to coach.
