Sorry Huntingdung fans I used a big word. Here is the definition of implication:

“the conclusion that can be drawn from something although it is not explicitly stated”

I don't know if Huntingdon can beat Henry Co. What I do know is Huntingdon has a all time winning record against them. Last few times we played was in the Huntingdon jamboree. We would beat them every year so they stopped playing us. They would probably beat us but they would have it to do. They have never had much luck beating us!

My point being is you saying "My TeAm Is BiGgEr ThAn YoUrS" and that don't mean jack. Nobody said anything about state championships. I was stating history. Dresden has never beat us and probably wouldn't today. I'm pretty sure Milan, Riverside, and possibly Crockett County could beat Union City, Dresden, and Mckenzie. I can't comment on the others you listed because I've never seen them play.

Mustangs have won 9 in a row over the Lions. 14-3-1 all time. You think the Lions could beat Crockett, Milan and Riverside in a row? Mustangs proved a lot to me running that gauntlet.

Nope... Dresden beats Huntingdon by at least two tds. I've watched Huntingdon play and there not fast enough to keep up with Dresden.

I've watched Dresden play and they are not faster than Huntingdon. They're not as big either. Lions are a solid team that could beat the Mustangs but that's something we'll never know.

And Croppy, we can careless about Huntingdon Middle School defeating North Gibson County Middle last week, and what happened between the Huntingdon/Camden Middle school 20 years ago and why that makes an impact in today's game.

What sucks is you having no respect for the history of the game. Did you ever play the game or did you ever play against the Mustangs. Probably not. Just another jealous loser!

    Waverly’s #9 Bryce Stanfield through 7 games

    1,419yds rushing with 16 TD’s
321 yds receiving with 1 TD
    60 tackles
    2 interceptions
    2 forced fumbles
    2 fumble recoveries

Man that's big-time stats. 200 rushing yds will win you most games. Maybe get to see him go against the Mustang defense later on. What position does he play on defense? Same family as your QB in 17&18 in those wild games?

It’s all smoke and mirrors. You guys block really well. If the kids are smart and watch film you can predict it. No way cornersville beats you guys. Huntingdon was better in every aspect but the coach and players had your number

Those corndogs were the hardest hitting team the Mustangs have faced in a long time. The 2017 game at Cornersville was brutal. That big nose and the QB/LB were big time hitters. Cornersville never took a snap inside our 20 except for extra points and beat us 14-13. Threw it over our head twice. Our QB really took some shots. Think our game plan against the Bulldogs was solid, we just fell a little short. Now the 2nd Cornersville game at Huntingdon was not one of Swensons better efforts. He was determined to bust it right up Cornersville's gut and wouldn't adjust when it wasn't working. Stubbornness is his worst trait. Swenson's not perfect but puts a quality team on the field each season in a small 2a school. To me he's the best coach in West Tennessee and I think his record proves it.

I think one of the main reasons is predictability. Once a coach has the players with discipline and figures out how to scheme against the offense they stop it

You pretty well have to have a big athletic defensive line capable  of penetrating our blockers to beat the Mustangs. Swenson offense is a lot more complicated than most people think. He has blockers coming at you from all directions. Our offensive line pulls and stays low with great leverage better than most. We should have more gold balls. Heck we had Alcoa beat in 2004. Gave up a kickoff TD that beat us. 2012 Refs beat us against Gordonsville. We've kinda had shat for luck!

Mustangs by a lot. I hope the Mustangs don’t lose focus with this weak schedule at the end of the season.

I'm worried a little about losing our edge myself though we should be able to get up for Camden and Peabody since their traditional foes. Got a lot of faith in this team. We've got more playmakers on this team than we've had in a while.

  9. Little trivia for the Huntingdon/ JCM game. In 1966 I was the backup tailback for the most dominate high school football team in that time. Anyways 1966 was the first year that Huntingdon integrated. We gained several black players but one really stood out. Kids name was Alfred Price. About 5'11" 190 lbs and could outrun our all-state QB Tim Priest 10 yds in a 100 yd dash wearing a pair of high tops. Looked like a weight lifter but had never touched one. Didn't have a clue how to line up. Coach Ward put him at middle guard and told him to just run to the ball. Kid could have played big time college football but never had the chance. He was every bit as talented as his son AL Wilson.

The Rebels win this one while giving the JV much needed reps. Safe travels for Houston Co. Another injury free game for both teams. Let's go Rebels. What's everyone else thinking?

One thing good about a 1a schedule is your JV team gets a lot of work!

He must think Hardin has improved since your preseason scrimmage with Riverside. I fully believe you have. Just like I believe the Stanks have improved since their preseason beat down by Covington and their week 1 loss to McKenzie. But I guess Huntingdung is the only team capable of getting better. Lol.

How do you figure Hardin Co deserves such a high ranking. They haven't beaten a good team and play a cupcake schedule. They may be great but they haven't proved it.

I have to have Hardin County at either 2 or 2B. While the boys at Stanktown are a top notch team, the numbers game has to favor Hardin Co in a theoretical matchup. Overall size, speed, and depth have to be taken into account. Their offense will win games but when faced against a team as big, strong, and quick it's definitely not designed for an air raid or a quick rally. JMO

I'm just not sold on Hardin Co. Saw them scrimmage Riverside and wasn't impressed. I think they would have a hard time matching the Mustangs physicality. Huntingdon will lite you up. Most teams we have played this year haven't been ready to get hit like the Mustangs hit you!

I know it's hard to swallow a loss, but the ultimate goal for this season hasn't changed, and for what my opinion matters an early season loss to Huntingdon doesn't put you in a worse place than a win would have. Good competitive game between two of the favorites, and I think the Panthers could've played better/been healthier than they showed Friday night. From the radio broadcast (Huntingdon announcers), it sounded as if Riverside missed a couple of shots at scores and #25 wasn't 100%...might be different next time if both get there.

Riverside is very good. Game could have gone either way. Huntingdon didn't play perfect but played clean enough to get the win. #25 I'm sure was banged up but the way he played defense he wasn't hurt to bad. He gained 243 yds on us the last encounter last season. He gained 19 yds Friday night!

I bet your QB would be soarer than Hardin county’s on a Saturday morning after a game between these two.

Our QB is always sore on Saturday morning. Probably the most physical QB in West Tennessee. You need 3 yds for a 1st down and he's going to get it.

  15. Mustangs and Lions are a very similar. Both very physical, just wear you down. Would love to see that matchup. Hardin Co ain't beat nobody. That QB would have a hard time getting out of bed on Saturday morning after an encounter with the Mustang defense. JCS's QB has Huntingdon roots, but still not enough. JCS has a few playmakers but the Mustangs have a bunch.

Dresden hast yet to play a complete game against good teams. That's how good they are so is this the week they  get rid of the mental mistakes and put up big numbers on S.Fulton  (I don't count the Halls and Humboldt games).

That's the trouble playing a 1a schedule. Not enough tough games to season you!

I don’t know anything about Lewis Co or Region 5 as a whole. Milan could be a team that no one wants to face in the playoffs. The Huntingdon/Milan score is deceiving. They were really undisciplined and some obvious penalties didn’t help them. If they get that turned around they are definitely physically capable of being a handful.

It's hard to play disciplined  when your getting your tail knocked off every play and I mean every play!
