Last season i said after the Huntingdon win vs Riverside  that I still felt like Riverside was the better team and caught a lot of flak for it from the stank fans .The rematch was exactly what I said it would be and funny i never heard a word :roflol:. I have not seen Huntingdon this year but will.

I feel like the Riverside team and coaches are on a mission. Huntingdon is always a well coached well prepared team. This game could go either way but I still feel like this Riverside team has something special in its near future

Riverside played a clean game the 2nd game last season. In the 2 previous meetings the Panthers self destructed.

A friend of mine from Huntingdon said this about playing RHS over the years, "We don't lose to Riverside, it just doesn't happen." Over the years Riverside has been a 4-6 to 6-4 team. But that's not true anymore. RHS is one of the best teams in 2A football now, even if the bluebloods like Huntingdon don't like it. There were a lot of people in West TN who really applauded Riverside knocking Huntingdon out of the playoffs last year. I hope it stays  a clean competitive game, and my RiverRats can keep giving the traditional power programs heck -  the Huntingdons and Lexingtons, and Milans.

All of a sudden the Mustangs are favored to beat the Panthers based on the victory at Milan. That game ain't got nothing to do with the Riverside - Huntingdon battle. These are two talented tough nosed teams going head to head. I think the Mustangs can beat the Panthers but can and doing it are two different things.

It will be a great game I agree. The winner I believe will be Union City but I see no team in the west scared of a date with So Pitt. What competition do they have in the east. It’s like a free pass straight to Chattanooga.

Lol. You just missed your Huntingdon - Milan prediction by 5 touchdowns!

Riverside is just as good, if not better, than they were last year. (They had an ugly out at Huntingdon early last year and had everything improved by Nov. 1).  Huntingdon looks to be considerably better than last year, and that's scary. This should be a good one. It's like I told the pretty lady at the Huntingdon ticket booth last year, "It has become a good, clean rivalry - finally, after being one sided for decades."

I'm impressed with the Panthers. You guys have good tackles that move well. You got to have quick penetrating tackles to disrupt the Huntingdon offense. Your QB is long and can really turn it up field. I think #25 is gonna find yds hard to come by against the Mustang defense especially if #78 is back to defense. Believe the Mustangs are a better team than last year. We've got more playmakers than we've had in a while. I expect a great game, not a lot of points scored. The team with the best composure wins this game. Hope it's my Mustangs but it's going to be tough!

  5. Mustangs played inspired  football tonight. Played very physical. I don't think Crockett Co expected to get hit like they did. # 12 Hutcherson is a very underrated RB. Very fast and smart, really runs well in traffic. Really looking forward to this week's matchup with Milan. I know the Dogs will be ready for a pretty hot Mustang squad.

You get on every social media platform there is dogging out Huntingdons pass defense and praising their”great” run offense. Every single year for the last 15 years Huntingdon has lost the last game of the season because of their run offense not their pass defense.

Mustang pass defense has been erratic for the last 15 years. We do OK on short and intermediate stuff but we've been weak against the bomb. Do way to much running and chasing. We've had receivers running loose deep on us all year.

Unless 13 is running the ball. Riverside is the clear cut favorite. Y'all may have beat them 33-7 in game one but I'm fairly sure Thomas didn't start that game at rb.

Thomas is an outstanding possession type RB. Not a home run hitter though, he's not gonna run away from folks. # 12 from Huntingdon to me is very underrated. Very solid and can take it to the house! Mustang RB's are a strength just as Panthers backs are. How many D1 schools have offered Thomas?

We will find out more about UC soon enough. They’re my pick for 1A Gold this year. However, both Mase & Dresden is going to have a say it that one. In 2A I agree with the above kinfolks. Riverside is above all right now in the West. I’m just keeping it real.

This Riverside team has won 1 and lost 2 to Huntingdon the last 2 years. Riverside has the core back as does the Mustangs. Riverside has a history of making a lot of mistakes against the Mustangs. Mustangs beat the Panthers 33-7 in their 1st meeting last year so I don't see Riverside as a clear favorite as most folks do. Whoever makes the fewest mistakes wins this matchup!

We usually pass the ball quiet a bit in the game to keep the defense honest on our run game , got a qb that has a good arm and receivers that will catch, and our run defense has been our strength of the defense this year. We have run the ball well also this year to so idk we shall see who wins up front

As it always is for the Mustangs if you can stop the run you have a chance to beat the Mustangs. Ain't easy to do! Huntingdon is going to pound you for 4 qts. Ain't easy to withstand.

I think this game right here depends on which big play gets called back. I’m thinking 3-7 point game

Tell me about the Cavalier's. How strong is your passing game. We get the ball thrown over our heads with regularity. Mustang defense pretty good against the run, really run to the ball well. We're going to run it at you so how's your run defense. Looking forward to this matchup. Type of game we enjoy.

@Croppygenius can probably tell you. It should be a good one. Huntingdon looks to be getting some things figured out. They were really physical tonight and causing turnovers. The Mustangs just can’t start out flat against quality opponents.

1st meeting between these two outstanding programs but we're very familiar with coach Ward. Our paths have crossed many times over the years. Great coach! I expect a chess match this Friday night that going to be great fun to watch and no better place to watch it than Paul Ward stadium.

  12. That was a twilight game. Darkest game I've ever been to. CA needs to get some lights. Mustang offense is really starting  to click. 446 yds on 47 attempts. 3 for 4 passing and yes we throw the ball pretty well when we want to. Big stretch of games ahead that I believe the Mustangs will be ready for.

Your right. South Gibson was a push over.

Witnessed Hardin Co scrimmage Riverside and the Panthers were clearly the better team. Hardin Co beats South Gibson soundly. Your right South Gibson is not very good.
