See you guys are thinking about this all wrong. I see it as a great opportunity for Summit to beat Cleveland. Then Brentwood also has a shot to do it! You don’t win at least you had a shot.

Exactly!!!!! Just 1-2 matches go the other way

Is division mentioned in the criteria? Since head to head isn’t why couldn’t Halls have been 1 and Cleveland 2?

if you want to be absolutely technical Halls won theirs before Cleveland did.

    Not the 5 before that.

    But valid point

yes it absolutely matters. the head and shoulders second best team is getting screwed out of a state finals appearance. those kids deserve that spotlight. but because T$$AA is a joke they won’t get it.

They won a 1 point dual in the region didn't they?

This is despicable and sends the wrong message to the kids and parents.  If at all possible you should absolutely never forfeit a match.  People can say whatever they want but a forfeit because you may have the odds stacked against you is not the mentally tough attitude that kids need to have.

    50 State Championships

Sounds like they value the end goal more than pleasing others.

you don't have to always been in the room to be connected to a program sir, people might have friends all over the place and people talk, they gossip and no wrestling club or even high school sport is so well oiled that they don't have people who talk and gossip! They can try all they want to limit what happens inside their gym, but the kids talk, their parents see things and when around spectators do also.

I have a hard time believing you know anyone that is TRULY connected to that program.

If so....say the name. Im sure these parents will let you know.

  6. So the coaches created the talent(sure they get ocassional move ins, so do we)....the same talent that everyone say is the best.

But if those coaches left, their magical powers would be useless and would forget how to coach.

    Got it

Maybe Alan Jones is paying their coaches at Cleveland because they do a better than anyone else(we are trying), and have proven they can keep Cleveland winning. Ive been around Bosken before and he did not hide the fact he gets paid to run the club(he travels alot based off his social media)

Hes also mentioned Knox and rest of staff fundraised north of 80k last year to give their kids the best opportunity. THEY did that. Its actually very impressive. Does Allan help? Duh. But i believe everyone would be shocked how much, from pretty much everyone I've talked too, he really gives.

We are hustling and working to do the same. But when you are winning, its amazing that fundraising gets easier. We aren't afraid to work.  Every Cleveland person thats been on here has never denied money helping. They have denied money being the reason.

Cleveland has got it going on...... but we are coming for you haha

  7. Serious question

     Dont say provides more opportunities

Do you think Bosken pays people to move in?

Does he pay for kids to travel everywhere?

Is Bosken getting all of it?

@Humorist you seemed connected to the program, I assume you have been in the room with Bosken/Knox. What is the money doing for Cleveland? Do they pay for kids to move in? Why are their kids good?

Since you don't seem to understand!

I love Coach Henry, but did he have ANYWHERE CLOSE to the same level of success that Cleveland has? I remember a few 2nd and 3rd place state finishes and very few 1st place finishes, Cleveland is in another stratosphere compared to ANY program in TN!

If you have a dominant run at Soddy, do you think you would have the same in large school division? I know it's what we have now, but I remember when we Soddy competed with Bradley, Franklin(another school that has disappeared), Overton and even before the D2 split we competed with Baylor and McCallie! Would that happen now?

Also go ask Ulric and Shane and see if they do not think with a million dollars or so they couldnt get that program up and humming even quicker than they are already doing ALONG with building a powerhouse that might even be able to compete if they were in large school? Money makes EVERYTHING easier, its the reason why private schools are private, why the best wrestling teams in the country like Blair do what they do each and every year, to not see that is one of the most foolish things I have ever heard and to imagine having a budget like a blair as a public school and think that wouldnt help is laughable!

But they did it without money

    Kyle James?

     Kevin Ward?

    Jake Yost?

    John Lane?

    Cambell Lewis?

You think money got those guys good?

Weather or not a bunch of money would have may it easier is irrelevant..... bc they still did it.

You dont think other kids would come in?

Do you realize how good their kids club is right now?

They have 2 8th graders that would win State Titles this year (one of them would have won as a 7th grader)

If anyone is moving anywhere, its where they go.

Hard pill to swallow for most, unless you are at these youth competitions and see.

good lord....i genuinely don't understand how this goes over every person from cleveland's head....

IF THEY ALL LEFT HE'D JUST BRING IN MORE TOP TIER COACHES.

His money gives ALL of you access to things the rest of the state isnt privy to. Does anybody blame you? NO.

NOBODY is hating on you for getting things the rest of the state doesnt get. We'd ALL take it if we had the opportunity.

What annoys everybody is you acting as if, and now flat out saying, that the money doesn't help you in any way shape or form. JUST ADMIT IT DOES AND WE'D ALL GO AWAY.

You don't think the Cleveland kids would follow Bosken/Knox?

  11. 4 minutes ago, cobrakid8 said:

I do know you are trying to follow a similiar program to what Cleveland is doing, I also know they have some of the best coaches in the south also for their program from Ulric to Shane as well as Andrew helping lead the charge!  I'm grateful they have put that effort into the program where before we had been left in the dust by Hixson as well as Signal.

If I am embarrassing you, maybe you need to use your actual brain and understand that just like EVERYTHING in this world, having money opens a heck of a lot of doors that aren't available for everyone else! If you find that as embarrassing to the program, I hate to break it to you that maybe you aren't thinking very well!

But you and many others are saying, without the money you wont have similar success.

If we start a dominant run, is it because someone was giving us money?

Soddy is restoring the history it once had.....did Steve Henry build his program off money?

So yes, you are embarrassing our program. You should know better than anyone.

Now, we are getting sponsorships to help us do certain things and give iur kids better opportunities.....what program doesn't do that?

  12. 3 minutes ago, Ummmno said:

oh no no no you're wrong. if bosken and knox left the entire cleveland program would crumble and wither away into non existance. them and them alone get the glory of the blue raiders success

Thats usually how it works. Them along with the army of pretty dang good coaches with them.

    The hate is real.

Cant wait to hear this in a few years when we are winning Championships

Again, the question was asked, do you believe that without Allan(has two L’s) support do you think the high school team or even HC would be anywhere close to what it is today?  Allan paid for the HC program to be started, he paid a heck of a lot of money to get its foundation built just like he gave the money to build a big fancy wrestling only building.  So again, maybe you outwork some people now by going to these great big tournaments, BUT without his money to start it all you aren’t even in the position to take advantage now!  It’s like starting a business and a good friend gives you the seed money to start it, now you are making millions but in the end if that friend didn’t give the seed money to begin with the business never takes off! The side up there wants to keep pretending they outwork everyone, without even acknowledging the fact that you wouldn’t be in the position now to outwork anyone if the money hadn’t been given. In the end without Allan Jones doing what he did Josh vision never comes to fruition and Cleveland is about where they were(pretty decent program but 2nd fiddle to Bradley as they were in the 90’s and throughout the 2000’s). Heck you were 2nd fiddle to Soddy back in the day before they lost a bunch of students and now considered a small school.  Listen, it doesn’t take away where your kids are now and the success of the program, however it’s asinine to think you are anywhere where you are right now without Allan Jones and there isn’t a program in the state that has that kind of advantage. As kid gloves said, there isn’t anyone on here that wouldn’t also take the same and if I won the lottery tomorrow and could give you are dang right I’d give a million or so to Soddy wrestling club and the high school team. I’d try and make them the small school Cleveland! So just not sure why all Cleveland fans want to get butthurt calling a spade a spade.

Do you realize that Soddy IS doing what Cleveland has been doing?

We are a few years out still, but when we get their I hope people realize that the only way you achieve success is working, not money. Money didn't get us going, a vision and the fact that we want to win.

     Stop embarrassing us.

lol, no pity needed here and again I’ve posted more FACTS on this board then either you twiddle Dee or the other twiddle dumb even know! I mean right before he posted there was a post that had information on Cleveland turning down Rex all you 2 knuckleheads need to do is go back and read the dang thread. 2nd twiddle dumb posted that Joey put NO stipulations at all that Baylor had to come to them AND YET the first thing he literally posted was Joey wanting Baylor to come to them and wrestle in the Cleveland field which maybe you aren’t smart enough to know and maybe it’s not in the sheet of paper you all are given to read from, but the Cleveland dials are located in GASP Cleveland. So he literally bit himself in the but(t) with his own proof a match was offered with no response because it literally started with you come to us! Thats why all but the Cleveland bandwagoners are laughing at you all right now, we all saw you did a got you moment that literally blew up in the face and yet aren’t smart enough to know that’s what you did!

So, yeah no pity needed here, I’ve got a great life that doesn’t revolve around wrestling and living through my son(s) vicariously for not getting the job done ourselves. Also no self importance because “my” team won eleventy hundred state titles!

So once you all get out of the circle jerk and wipe your chins, just answer the question of, where would Cleveland wrestling be right now if there was no Allan Jones? If you say the same as it is now, please get checked for CTE because you all took to many bumps in the head!

Also who is the individual that gives the most money to the school team and HCWC(also I love how it’s put in your sheet as use individual) because it doesn’t include the Jones foundation, his many companies or the Bradley county foundation that gives a good amount also!

This guy seems very bitter Bosken didn't coach his kid.

First, our crew has gone to Boskens beginner tournaments. They get the kids 3-4 matches, parents dont have to travel, don't charge any entry for parents to come watch, and get everyone out in about 1 hour.

His HS kids....ref, encourage, and yes, they coach them. What a brilliant way to build culture.

Could it be his kid just wasn't very good, got beat alot, therefore, instead of doing what the best do in that situation, keep showing up, he has found a way to point fingers at someone else, instead of teaching his kid the lesson this sport is supposed to teach...... ACCOUNTABILITY

Geez, stop making me defend Cleveland ha

I wouldn’t know Alan Jones if I looked him directly in the face.

I drive from Knoxville 3-4 times per week funded by “yours truly”

My son didn’t go to Tulsa…

If what you’re saying is true why wouldn’t Jones, Bosken, etc have paid for him to be there?

  16. Mr Grassman....these people arent fighting with anyone but the guy stirring everything up. Im in a club that i like to think rivals Cleveland, they are good people and work hard.

Bosken or Knox arent on here bashing any program or putting their program above anyone elses, its a few people potentially trying to get people bashing Cleveland on purpose.

Dear lord you can’t see the forest through the trees! It’s easy to lay a foundation when you have someone that can put down the best concrete money can buy! Josh is great at what he does, but for all the talk of it’s just they work harder than everyone else, that is bullS! When they first started HCWC it looks like per their tax filings they had upwards of 100K for a dang wrestling club, they still average in the 55-60k range! No one else in the state comes close and that includes some of the private school type clubs and prob the only other one in the state that spends like that is Boom Ranch because Chittum has tons of money also. Yes they have worked dang hard to get to where they are, but please don’t pretend that money doesn’t help all of that foundation laying!

So, no, I’m nothing like Trey, because I give it to them they have built a heck of a program, but kids came there because they proved themselves but that proving took a ton of hard work but also a TON of money involved with it also. Again, it’s a 501C program, their taxes are available online.

Also Josh is one of the best technical coaches I’ve had the pleasure of watching. He could take his show anywhere and build a program I am sure. It just would take him a little longer to get there if it was anywhere but Cleveland and HCWC.  He’s now built a Juggernaut of a program and he’s doing the same for the girls program!

    Moving on.

    State Dual Results

    A- Soddy Karate

D2-Father Ryan(Simpson the master game planning coach)

    AAA-Cleveland Jones

When do region substate wrap up?

Oh mercy, you sound like him now.

I hate defending them but when you provide a quality product, people want to support you.

     Bosken did that.

If you think he was getting paid when he came to Cleveland how ever long ago you are crazy. He put himself in a position where people loved wrestling, worked hard to build something, and his community will do what it takes to make sure it continues.

I dont know what the money situation looks like, but hes obviously valuable to thay area now, so Im sure hes taken care of.

    Good for Cleveland.

    SD coming though!!!
