  1. After seeing the Jamboree and summer scrimmages, I think that the region will be finished in this order: 1) Fulton: From what I've seen, this team is the most talented and have the most well-rounded team overall. I also believe that they have the best offense by a long shot, however, I feel that this team has too much faith in certain players. A couple of injuries and I could see them playing away from home in the first round of the playoffs. 2) Oak Ridge: While this team probably has the best organized playbook in the region, I feel that this year will be a little bit of a down year, however, this team has the ability to win state. They are load with talent youngsters, EKU Commit Caleb Martin leading the way, and they will be a great team but there is some experience needed for the team to turn the corner. Everything could click after a couple of games, as it did last year, but I just don't see them being able to take the region title once again. 3) West: West comes in with what could be called the best defense in the state, however, they seem to not be working as a unit as of this moment. This was the same situation last year, however, they got it together defensively before game 1. I feel that this defense, returning 9 starters, will be perfectly fine come this Friday. The offense, on the other hand, returns 4 starters and doesn't seem to be gaining much with that. I've yet to see this offense consistently produce, however, there have been burst on the running game. However, the coaches seem to want a passing game to be implemented but that doesn't seem to be the style that works. Regarding the special teams, the most consistent scoring piece, they seem to have one kicker who's really consistent but lacks long range and another who is not as consistent but has longer range. They might have to use two kickers, 34 being short ranged, and 54 being longer ranged. 4) Powell: That's right, the panthers should return to the playoffs. Matt Lowe has turned this team around and has made the panthers offense great. They could be considered the best offense in the region by the end of the season. On the other side of the ball, there seem to be a few holes. While they looked great against Carter, there were some small things that might cost them in the long run. I feel that any of these top four teams could win the region, and that includes the panthers despite what others might think, however these four teams seem to be standing above the others. 5) Campbell County: This team has shown that they will be a good team in the offseason, however, they are playing in what I consider the hardest region in 5A. They lost more than most of the teams in the region and they are not the fastest team either. They also were one of the teams that West, out of all teams, had success against them defensively. I feel that this will be a rebuilding year with some highs, but some more lows and the team fails to reach the postseason. 6) Karns: This team is better than the historically dreadful Beavers, however, this team will not be able to compete in this region. They have a few great stars, most notablely Harper, an Oklahoma State committee, however, they would shock me and most of the state if they happened to survive this region and grab a playoff spot. 7) Clinton: While they may have gotten the biggest facility upgrades this past offseason, I don't see this team doing very well. They are slow, they are not the most aggressive team, and they struggle on all three aspects of the game, being offense, defense, and special teams. While they may have had some close games last year, most notably the one possession game with West, but I don't see them having games that close with anyone in the top part of the region this year and would not be shocked if they lost every region game by double digits.
