Never thought I’d be a Clifton fan but here I am hoping they win it all / what a story
-
When not making it to State is a down year you know the program is on solid footing
-
WC got great coaching staff and can make adjustments on the fly / I keep saying don’t count MC out just yet they impressed me each time we ( Summertown) played them
-
Moore Co played tough schedule ( lot of higher classification teams ) to push them over the top against a solid Clay Co team

I agree with your post. Unlucky is the correct verbage. Gibson County was undefeated three different years in the late 90's and early 2000's and we drew Livingston Academy 3 years in a row we were up there. Livingston Academy and Gibson County were both ranked top 2 in state. Last year York drew Westview and they were top 2. No way they plug these schools in IMO. Just an unlucky draw. Each school has TSSAA reps as contacts. I always hear it is a draw but they just don't do it live.
Ditto Summertown vs Clarkrange few years back / it was a war where both team beat each other up

My last thought on this thread since don’t have dog in the race anymore Summertown only team that played 3 top 10 teams none at home to try to get to State / so proud of this team / wishing all teams there good luck w no injuries and may the referees be on your side

I understand that’s a tough way to lose and I have much respect for Summertowns program but you will not find any Fillies fans that think we had the better end of the whistles tonight. It was rough

12 fouls to 4 might tell you something just saying

Should be one at Summertown after coaching job tonight

No. The best team did win. They didn’t play well, but they did in fact, coudos to HD wasn’t downing them just reflecting on coaching or lack of it by Summertown

Summertown has had a GREAT 8 year run in basketball 4 state appearances 4 sub states / maybe slight drop off but don’t count them out just yet they don’t rebuild they reload

Gatlinburg could win by 50-60 points if they wanted, but they will most likely do like Central did when they played Meigs and call off the dogs with the running clock in the 4th qtr. There are some very good matchups in some of these substate games tonight. The AA state tourney games look to be the best to watch this year.

That is correct
Sometimes underclass teams have less pressure knowing they got one more year but I’ll take senior led teams with great guard play to win

Smith County is a dark horse but don’t sleep on them. Last year they hired one of the best young coaches in the UpperCumberland to be their head coach and it has paid off for them. Coach Ferrell always points to his team as to why they are successful. A very humble man but make no mistake about he’s a big reason why they are winning and will only continue to get better. His teams always play hard, disciplined and fundamental basketball. Remember you heard it here first. Smith County will be at the glass house sooner than you think!
Summertown had hard fought emotional game Against a solid Cannon Co team / one days rest may not be enough against Loretto on their home court but I agree should be a war

No

Wayne has more length than anyone in A. I'd say they'll run a matchup zone tonight.
Wayne Co coaches daughter will present a problem with her size also / she has improved drastically since start of season

Coach Scott at Lawrence Co. I have massive RESPECT for her. That game awesome to watch
She gets more out of players than any coach around / got excellent feeder program going now with her sister-law coaching Local Middle School - sleeping giant in the making

I think you nailed it. AA has been a stronger than AAA last year and this year. I don't think it will always be that way; it will likely cycle back and forth.
AA is absolutely loaded right now. I think state tournament looks like this:
Regions 1-2: Gatlinburg and McMinn Central
Regions 3-4: York and East Nashville or Westmoreland
Regions 5-6: 2 of Huntingdon, Cheatham Co, Summertown and Loretto
Regions 7-8: Gibson Co and Westview
Gatlinburg, McMinn, York, Gibson Co and maybe Huntingdon all have enough talent to win the whole thing.
Don’t leave out Canon Co in region 5-6 very good team could beat any of the 4 on a given night
