I feel like Summertown has some tough years coming. Brazier and Campbell will keep them competitive this year, but it looks like a big dip in the next couple years. You seeing the same thing?

Yep get Shaffer back 1st of year will help - Hope can keep it above water till then - at least don’t have go to GC or WV

McNairy Central defeated Lexington to win the school's first-ever state championship. They won a low hurdles state title in 1987 with Fred Wyke.

The school had finished state runner-up in the 2017 softball tournament when they had the lead on CAK going into the seventh inning. The basketball girls team finished second in the 1974 state basketball tournament.

McNairy defeated Lexington in five of eight games this season. It was the most ever wins in one season against Lexington.

Coach Mellanie Surratt was the coach of the Lady Bobcats.

Looks like the warm up game w Summertown helped Y’all more than Summertown

She had herself a week not just a day! Winning pitcher for four straight games and had 4 homeruns with two being grand slams in the championship game (first time ever in TSSAA tournament history) and 16 total RBIs in 4 games while batting over .700. Only close game of the tournament was vs Waverly! Westview was on a mission this week!! State basketball champions and now state softball champions!

Put Summertown out in basketball and softball sectional - luckily be in different sectionals next year - congratulations to WV

I understand your statement, but his as well...Summertown was/is universally thought to be the "best team" in their classification, just won't be state champs this year. Best team doesn't always win, but the team that does what they have to when it's necessary always does.

As I said you beat Summertown you got good chance win it all and wV destroys Forest as I expected to prove me correct

Not sure about the "best team" part as 8 other teams found a way to get to state this year under the same format.

It’s who you get in sectional east Tn teams not as good this year and west Tn teams better - - I’m not complaining - Summertown been so dominant in past several years we think down year when only make it to sectional but good luck to teams that made it there ( can’t judge yourself against others that get there if YOU don’t )

Doesn’t surprise me they’re not as good as years past - Still think Summertown best team in State but in softball format one bad game and your out - baseball give multiple chance to advance if they played one game in or out the make up of State baseball championship would be entirely different

    Talking about sectional

What's everyone's predictions after day one in AA ? Waverly and Westview  are my favorites with Alcoa still in the hunt.

If wV plays like they did Summertown in sectional nobody in 2AA beats them / Summertown run ruled Forest both times they played

    Adjusted

Does East Tennessee run away with it this year again. My predictions of the finals and darkhorse. I don't know too much about West Tennessee softball.

A- Eagleville / Huntland - rematch of the two of the best pitchers in the state- Darkhorse is Gordonsville

AA- Alcoa- returns most everyone / Forrest always strong not sure what they have - Darkhorse -Summertown

AAA- Gibbs- returns most everyone, valuable experience last year being mostly underclassman / Lincoln Co. giving the benefit with Lexington losing key players - Darkhorse is Halls with talented soph. pitching duo

AAAA- Farragut-lost starters but have depth and key starters back / Dobyns Bennett - best pitching staff in the state as Juniors - Darkhorse is Maryville/Morristown West

Summertown might not be as dark as we think

Don't blame travel ball for not enough rest if the young lady plays basketball too.

I don’t necessarily blame travel ball just puts more stress on knees and if susceptible to that kind of injury might and I emphasize might happen easier but could happen going down steps the wrong way - my personal opinion as you can tell I’m not in favor of an extended travel ball season that starts right after one sport and runs till another sport starts
