  1. Harpeth plays at Creekwood today at 6:00 today for the play in game.
  2. This is a great idea. Harpeth is going to help support this. I think it is great that we can still help other people out even though we're not from the same team! Kayla, her family, & her team will be in our prayers!

Last night, Harpeth lost to Collinwood, but won against Gordonsville. Gordonsville beat Fairview, but ironically Harpeth lost to Fairview (yet again) this morning. We played Smith County and came back to beat them 6-4, and made a tremendous effort in the last inning to come back against Hunter's Lane, scoring 5 runs--With the officiating definitely not being on our side, the score still ended up 9-5.

It seems as if the (Harpeth) Lady Indians finally showed up last night against Montgomery Central. In the fifth inning, it appeared as if MC was going to pull it out with a 2-0 lead after some solid base-hits and the favor of the umpires, but Harpeth took their turn at bat and a solid hit to the outfield by Ashlee Hawkins knocked in 3 runs. The game ended up going into overtime, and finally ended on a run-down gone bad, giving Montgomery Central the 'W'. Both teams were playing well, and both should walk out of the game with their heads up. Hopefully Harpeth has ended their 'bad week' and will carry this scrappiness into the MTSCA tourney this weekend.
  5. I was wondering the same thing....
  6. Harpeth has now replaced Macon County. Watch yo' back, fool.

The Harpeth/Creekwood matchup has always been a pretty good rivalry--with Harpeth under a new coaching staff who knows what could happen.

As always, Harpeth and Creekwood played a good game. The first score of the game came off the bat of Ali Thomas, Harpeth's catcher, when she hit her second homerun against the infamous "B-Money". As I recall, Thomas' first homerun was the run that won their first battle at the 'Wood. Harpeth's defense seemed to somewhat buckle this game, though. The score ended up Creekwood 6, Harpeth 4.

I think Harpeth's problem is that they came out pretty good but never improved. They thought they could slide by on "pretty good" because it was good enough to beat Creekwood early on, but they've recently learned that you can't play the same ball toward the end of the season as you were coming out. Maybe these girls will pull through in the tournament, though. I'd look for them to show up next year with more mature pitchers and an all over team.

Harpeth 1, Creekwood 0. Looks like the district might end up differently than everyone thought.
  11. Props on a good season.
  12. I don't think so. Granted, they are a big aid to many players, but any good bat is.
  13. I'll hand it to Creekwood; they won in the sence that they scored more runs than Harpeth did, but if winning meant wanting it worse, playing their hardest, and playing with CLASS and INTEGRETY....I'm sorry, but we have y'all beat.
  14. I would say that winning 2nd place in the MTSCA Tourney has definitely boosted the morale of the Lady Indians, and they are off to a great start this season. With new coaches, not having lost any players, and their newly acquired winning spirit, I would say you should go ahead and put a 'W' beside Harpeth's name...
