This thread should be about state title game between Meigs and Peabody. Sadly McMinn fans must join in. But it’s ok the closest you’ll ever get to winning a gold or silver ball will be when you sneak into Meigs co Hs. It’s ok we’ll let you look but you can’t touch ours. And just like several other surrounding schools if you’re best players work real hard you can come watch our games. No worries we are always playing when your season is over. And today you can watch us on TV and hear OUR principal talk about Meigs County. Maybe you can just get another little friendly city sign but we’ll keep putting up signs acknowledging winners. But hey, We love our little sportsmanship neighbors.

Ok. I had said I wasn’t going to the past but- been watching last years game over and over. But you guys graduated Dirksen and he saved your bacon If he hadn’t played Meigs blows you out. Without him you wouldn’t have been able to pound and wouldn’t have stopped us.

It’s going to be cold and snowy in Cookeville Saturday. I’m kinda worried about the health of some of the fans. I hope the Peebody fans won’t do what my buddy did once when it was really cold out. TSSAA is a tremendous organization just like all nonprofit organizations. They kinda remind me of the time I was going to buy a car.. didn’t have the one I wanted so they convinced me that for my own good AND the comfort of my family on a long trip I should let them choose for me. Kinda got hosed a little but hey they still got paid and convinced me they knew what was best for me. Now on the other hand— if Tdale wants to limit seats to 25% they should have moved the game to a larger venue. It’s not about Covid it’s about trying to control the situation. Over rated and over hyped. Last years Pee body team was loaded. Not so sure about this one. As for great coaching— 2 ref wins in the last 2 3rd round or they sit at home. Swiping ball out from center last year (illegal) and coach and extra player running on field without timeout granted (illegal). Now I’m not one to argue just state facts. “Just the facts”. That’s my old partner on the beat used to say.

I agree Meigs has had more talent the last few years AND every time they beat Rwood they have more talent... good excuse. I’d always say talent, not coaching.

You guys should keep Webb forever. The team should be in the semis next year because region 1 & 2 will be a sad joke. Keep him so we can assure ourselves clinic bowl if we get to that round.

As cold as that water will be I don’t need any trunks and I’m so hairy it looks like a bears fishing anyway. Waters so cold it reminds me of a time I was traveling on this big ship and something bad happened. We all ended up in the really cold water. Some nice girl was holding onto my hand and told me she wouldn’t let go. Well she did.

Not to hurt feelings but Region 1 can’t compete. I hate we’ll be leaving this group next year but the only competitive team in region 1 or 2 will be Hampton. Since we joined we’ve lost once to Rockwood in 2016 and that’s it. I’ll have to look at coacht to get records correct but the only thing to even look at is the scores.

#1 kinda reminds me of a guy I used to watch back in the day. Al something. Scored 4 TDS in a game. I know he’s now a big success selling women’s shoes. I’ve not heard from him in a while. If anybody sees him please tell him people are still talking about his feet.

Where’s #12 from? I can’t imagine leaving a 12-0 team for anywhere except 13-0. We’ve had several players move in or transfer in legally over last 4 years and truthfully longer than that. Seems there is something special about being at Meigs on a Friday night. Haha I know there is...

Dang boys let me in on this “new game plan”. I’ve been studying this coacht stuff and i kind of like the one we have Since 2016 60-6. Maybe the defense needs to tighten some but I like our plan of winning. My best offense is 1 more point than them and my defense is 1 less.

Mr Football is an award given by the media— much like the Heisman. There are several teams who have 2-4 ((pushing it) players who can claim to be the best in the state. If any team has 4 or more players who they believe are Mr Football types said team should walk through to state title. I am very proud of and for Will Meadows from Meigs County for Mr Football! While others are having great years let’s not diminish what each of these finalists have accomplished. They only played the game to their highest level- they didn’t pay the media for votes.

I keep hearing ALL posters referencing skill people this and weapons that. Have you not been to a game? Look at the O-Line for Meigs #57, #60, #77, #51 or is it 52, and I’m forgetting one. Road graders! Hampton lines 9 in box and keyed on Meadows. He still had 100+ and Carol had 200? We have GOOD skill people, as good combo as you get. But OLine is pulling the wagon and Carol is holding the reins. Now Meadows, woo fastest gunfighter in the street. Now flip it over to defense. When #60 goes in and #51 are in things change and our horses go from ponies to War Horses.
