  1. WB might win 2-3 games. That coach might be great but he'd be 0-1 if Clinton had played South Doyle, and it wouldn't have been close.
  2. After watching the game on TV as well as in person, and after reading the blistering comments on here, here's my take. First of all, I think SD might be the best overall team OR will play, and as sloppy as OR played, they were still in the game in the final seconds. If OR had an experienced QB (I do think Tarwater will be good), OR wins the game anyway because when is the last time you remember anyone throwing TWO pick sixes in a game? The same offensive line that blocked Maryville was whipped by SD, so either SD is better than Maryville up front, or OR has gotten worse, which is doubtful. South Doyle's best player played and OR's did not, and despite what the Sweet guy says, it would've made a difference. I have no problem with a couple of you bashing the coaches (the sweet guy and the Nole) because sometimes they need it and it makes us feel better and smarter when we bash them. A great back makes the offensive line look very good, even when they aren't and the OR back with D-1 offers didn't even dress out, and theirs did. I remember thinking in the first half that OR was finally getting plays into the game very fast, so I'm also confused about the delay penalties in the second half and hopefully they can be chalked up to poor first game time management or a rookie QB, or both. But that just can't happen again. I was very frustrated with two things: one, the two punts that should've been downed inside the 5 yard line but were batted into the end zone (do the OR players know the rules?) and the fact that their was no running game at all.
  3. Now I really want to hear the answer to this question
  4. I've noticed that too. Does Gaddis even try to win scrimmages? We never seem to look very good in them. Did he give them a break yesterday with a short practice or was it a full practice? Will Tawater play in this scrimmage?
  5. LOL ! I'm very interested to see the scrimmage (are you going) and also interested to see Coach Cat's assessment!!!!
  6. I don't care what Fulton has but I'm really looking forward to this scrimmage to see what our Wildcats have. I really want to see how we look at QB.
  7. I'm good friends with the father of a player on the team and I'm with him now. The topic of our current conversation is the "players from West". This kid told his dad that the players were at practice today and that's the first time they have been there. He also said they have several new coaches but the West players dad isn't one of them. In fact, this player has heard the rumors that the West players dad is on the staff but he has never seen him.
  8. Upcoming Season Predictions: SOUTH DOYLE - Loss (SD has too much coming back and the Cats have too many question marks. If the game was played in October, I would pick the Cats) BEARDEN - Win (Don't know much about them) CLINTON - Win (Improved but not enough to beat the Cats) FARRAGUT - Loss (The Admirals have had their way with the Cats in recent years) LENOIR CITY - Win (They haven't been very good lately) POWELL - Loss (Powell "should" win the state title...too much firepower) GREENEVILLE - Loss (They might be 4A but they would beat 99% of all 5A teams this year) KARNS - Win (But with their running back, it might not be easy) KINGSPORT D-B - Win (Playing them later in the year gives the Cats the edge) CAMPBELL COUNTY - Win (They will be a little better but not ready to beat the Cats) REGULAR SEASON 6-4 Second place in the region and will face Powell in the third round in a huge rematch
  9. Oh yes, I agree with you. I just exaggerated the sizes to make a point. OR rarely has big linemen and DB and Farragut seem to have them in large supply. My point was that the weight room, whatever they do in there, can't give us "big linemen" but can at least make our guys stronger.
  10. Those two teams (DB and Farragut) always seem to have much bigger linemen than OR does and the weight room can't make a 5'9" 210 lineman into a 6'4" 290 that those two schools seem to have in plentiful supply. But I do hope our guys are working hard and getting stronger.
  11. I do agree that the tough schedule did seem to help OR last year in the playoffs but I still don't really like it. Your point about AC is well taken
  12. Forgot about the two broken collarbones. That was very odd and will hopefully never recur
  13. Not sure why he wants to keep playing them or what we get out of either game except a physical @#$ whipping from both teams. Oh well, the schedule is set and like you said, "just my thoughts and nobody asked". But for the record, I think OR has too many question marks and holes to plug, to play such a tough non district schedule.
  14. So you predict a two QB system! Very interesting
  15. The non district schedule, which is all a coach can control, is what concerns me with a team that lost it's secondary, it's defensive line, its offensive line, its QB, and its receivers. South Doyle is probably better than anyone on the schedule other than Powell. Greenville would beat Mt Juliet 9 times out of 10. So my point is that South Doyle, Bearden, Farragut, Greenville, and D-B represents a non district schedule that I don't think is very smart, but maybe coach knows better.
  16. With so many losses to graduation, I just don't understand why the schedule has to be this tough. I predict that OR will be 3-4 after the Powell game and will finish 5-5. A new QB, whoever it is, a new line on offense and defense, a new secondary, and a new core of receivers. This schedule is a mistake Gaddis! There's no other way to look at it. Stupid, stupider, and stupidest. What's the point? Losses to SD, Farragut, Powell, Greenville, and DB are guaranteed.
  17. You must be a genius. The guy just led OR to the third title game they have played in over the last 30 years and you want to be a smart ####. He's the problem according to you. There are better coaches out there but he's the guy that just led OR to the title game after a 2-3 start and somehow avoided the covid bug that hit so many teams. You typify what's wrong with coacht but the freedom of speech we have gives you the right. As I said before, most OR fans on coacht are stupid and just love to complain. First the OC is the problem and a change is finally made and then, no, it's that stupid hall of fame head coach who is the problem. The new OC will be in the cross hairs of all of us stupid OR coacht folks next season. It doesn't matter who the OC is, or who the head coach is, because the stupid /genius complainers on here will find some way to complain. If all OR football fans were like the stupid complainers on coacht, i would pity the head coach, the entire coaching staff, and the players BUT thank goodness most of the REAL fans of OR football aren't represented by those of us who post on coacht. For the record, I'm not sure why the OC change was made. I didn't have the problem that many fans had with him because let's face it, if OR doesn't pass the ball on every play, or if every play doesn't result in positive yards, then we aren't happy and both the OC and head coach are stupid. One more thing that I'm sure most won't agree with but I believe that Summitt would beat OR 99 times out of 100 no matter who the OC was or if OR was five wides all night or running the wishbone. Now you can count me as another in the long line of both stupid and genius OR coacht posters.
  18. I agree with you as well !!! Oak Ridge fans on coacht are in agreement !!! Miracles do exist !!!!!!!
  19. I read our thread and realize that our coacht fans, including me, are never satisfied and most of us are also stupid and inconsistent. After bashing our OC in the stands and on coacht for years, a change is finally made, and then that's not good enough either, or we talk about the past. This is a free speech message board and the message I get is that we just love to hear ourselves talk...figuratively, not literally. I don't believe the bashing of the OC in the stands was warranted, at least not to the degree that it went on, but to each his own. Willie is the only one on here who admits that he's "dumb as a rock" (LOL), but I maintain that he's not alone!!!
  20. I'll have my ear to the ground, wall, and everything else I can find to listen and share what I hear from my sources (player's parents) about the new coach. I'll be back in a week!
