  1. From afar it appears Ensworth had a tough draw playing CPA in game 1 when CPA had already played (and won) 2 games against strong 6A teams. Not that it may have mattered as CPA looks like a machine this year. Then special teams lapses cost the Tigers against Baylor and arguably MBA. (These lapses seem a recurrent theme over the past few years). D2III looks tougher top to bottom than in the past. Overall high end talent at Ensworth is no doubt down in numbers versus 5 years ago which is why they can’t be expected to absorb the loss of the power 5 caliber players that have transferred out over the past few years like maybe other programs could. It does really seem a numbers game when trying to play up a division. I think it’s that simple. Ensworth roster is 20-35 players fewer (per unapproved website) than every division III opponent and has been for a while. BA obviously pulls it off (playing up) and CPA probably could since neither face the same roster#s issues but the school wide priorities re: athletics at those schools are different vs the avg Tiger family’s objectives when it comes to football and the continuity in their feeder system helps those schools too. I’d seriously doubt that Roc’s in a tough spot at all as prior commenter hit it that young talent appears much higher in numbers at Ensworth than it did a few years ago.
  2. Yep, and they stuck with it. But I’m not surprised this wasn’t Plan A (run right at CPAs talented backers in Game #2 with 5 starters on o-line that have: 1) only one career start under their belts at the high school level, or 2) are playing out of natural position...that’s all
  3. cbg lacks historical perspective...The first 3-4 QBs in the EHS program history all went to the next level as QBs, the most recent one to do so seems to be doing a serviceable job as QB (https://rhodeslynx.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=6020 ) based on his national stats last yr...more recently you’re comment closer to being on point (although King mainly played WR last yr). Ensworth QB position looks in goods hands this year w/ more creativity than in the past few years when The O was more average w/o home run hitters in the backfield....too bad #4 wasn’t well enough to carry it 15-20 times last night. CPA commenter lacks appreciation for EHs inexperience up front, thus that’s why the initial game plan wasn’t going to attack the middle...:CPA QB really impressed with his legs though, he also has a great WR corp....depth will remain an issue as long as Ensworth wants to play up a level.
