  1. Wow I just read the paper and Coach Kirk gave Rice a compliment. That was really nice of him I am sure it will put a smile on Brittany's face and envy in the hearts of some Ooltewah parents. Thanks Clifford you are a great coach! If Ooltewah contolled there parents like you do yours it might help them some. Keep working hard Brittany and I am going to keep coming to watch you and keep coming on here to defend you even though I am sure your father would tell me I am stupid to get caught up in this. Go Ooltewah I would love to see you get out of the district!! I been waiting a long time.
  2. Honestly it wasn't her best I have seen her do better but she did pitch well. I am going to be honest with you Mr. and Mrs. Rice are not the type of people to come on something like this it's just opinions and has no credibility. I came on because Brittany was upset that people were talking about her and her dad told her to get over it. He told her Coach "T" is not what is going to get her anything in her life. I can't believe you all think only her family would give her credit. I guess we will see what kind of offers she gets and that will tell the tell. I don't know who Picker is but I know who Wilson is and he just pretends to be a Soddy fan. By the way Wilson thanks for noticing that Rice pitched a good game.
  3. Do u mean coaching 3rd? I believe Coach Nelson is always there. Lamar was on 1st.
  4. If you all will go back and read all my posts you will know I am not Rice's mother just a really good friend of that family and an avid Ooltewah and fastpitch softball fan. I have not read the paper Printman but at the game there was a hit and a girl could have possibly scored if she kept coming hard and the coach was sending her. What does the paper say? I know it could have been a great momentum builder for the team if Ooltewah had jumped on the scoreboard first. Would I have sent her? Probably there were 2 outs but I am not the coach. Why would you not let your daughter play for that program and where does your daughter play?
  5. Why do you say that just because I don't trash Rice. I would think Picker is Mr. or Mrs. Rice. You will not scare me away Wilson and I really don't care who you are!
  6. Thanks for the play by play and the wish for luck! Go Ooltewah!
  7. Indian it was a good game. Rice's pitches worked really well. I know this kid and she is a really sweet kid. A few times this year she has gotten frustrated and let it show on her face when a certain pitch was not doing what she wanted it too. She gave up 1 maybe 2 earned runs in 5 innings and then for whatever reason Coach Lasley decided to make a change. You can't win if you don't score any runs. A pitching coach once told me as long as they are talking about you and you are staying on there minds then you may not be winning games but obviously they know about you and your potential so that is a good thing. I can say one thing she sure gets watched and talked about. She had a good outing against Soddy. Soddy is a really good team with a great coach there I said it again. I hope Ooltewah can play like they did last night score some runs and advance out of the district. Good Luck Ooltewah!! Holly Thomas is a good pitcher and just a freshman she will get better and better. Ooltewah definitely has a bright future as far as talent. Nice hits by Saunders and Pittman. Defense made some great plays also. Go Ooltewah!!!
  8. Printman go away that is all Ooltewah needs another negative parent coming on this site and trashing players. If you can's say something nice then don't say anything at all. I have been around softball for a long time and I gurantee you Rice is being looked at if you are referring to colleges. Almost any pitcher will get a scholarship if they want one. What do you mean by who is looking at her?
  9. What an act your are. Maybe your daughter will get to play next year and you won't be so bitter and jealous.
  10. I think you need to get facts before you say something like that and if the girls have a problem with a player when it comes time to play they need to forget it and play ball. I believe if there was cussing going on a coach or an umpire should have addressed it. It's very hard to be a leader when you are serious and others are not. I see the parents at Ooltewah with the problems not the players and usually when they have a problem if parents keep there mouths shut and don't get involved in it the girls work it out themselves. I really do not believe she would cuss anyone out. Where are you getting your information from other players maybe you need to know who you should listen to and who you should believe. Such jealousy among teammates. It takes a team all of them to win!!
  11. I have not posted anything in a while regarding a certain junior pitcher at Ooltewah but obviously someone needs to set the record straight. No one cussed anyone out where is all of this crazy stuff coming from? When a player is running hard for a ball aren't her teammates usually calling "fence"? The umpire out in the field even asked the first basemen why she didn't call fence. No one cussed anyone out or I believe he would have ejected them from the game. Just common sense all of ya'll need to quit trashing this one kid it is ridiculous. She pitched a 2 hitter in 5 innings and gave up one earned run against the self proclaimed best team in the state so that is not that bad of an outing. The girls at Ooltewah get along fine. Are ya'll all crazy or what?
  12. It doesn't seem like a bad idea to me I think a lot of positive things could have come from it especially for Ooltewah. A good coach will take a talented player that is not performing and use a young player hungry for playing time and issue a challenge to the starter just by not allowing them to get too comfortable. There are several girls on the Ooltewah team that know they are not going anywhere and are just too "comfortable" if you know what I mean. A bench can be a great motivational tool for a coach if used the right way.
  13. Come on out everyone I state facts and as usual when I post the truth everyone backs off. And yes I hate to tell you Picker but the rumor around Ooltewah is the game was not rescheduled because of the prom. You can't play on Sunday and the district starts Monday so I guess Nelson didn't want to play early Saturday morning. Who knows what she was thinking?
  14. Ooltewah plays Red Bank Monday at 5 at Warner Park. I assume Soddy will play Central at 7.
  15. She should have played the young girls and excused the Jr's and Sr's if she cancelled because of the prom. If that is the reason it is very lame I agree but it still does not excuse Soddy for cancelling on Baylor. This is a typical Nelson thing to do but, that was not typical for Clifford to not want to play a game. So I guess any excuse beats none. I am glad to see you getting off the pitchers and realizing the problem seems to be hitting and defense at Ooltewah. You can't win if you don't score and you can't win if routine plays are dropping in all around being scored as hits because the defense can't even get close enough to get a glove on it, or throwing them a mile over each others heads. I wish some of the girls on the bench would be given an opportunity even if a kid has more talent than the one on the bench but game after game if they do not execute then a change might stir up something. I am glad some can find humor in it because if you were there at the games and could see the faces of the players that really care it is really a shame!
  16. Where have you been? I am an Ooltewah fan I just give Clifford credit for being a great coach. I give players credit on any team if they impress me. I think Ooltewah should have played the game. I don't know what the excuse was for not playing I guess since Soddy will be first in the district anyway I guess it's another decision Coach Nelson made so she could go do whatever she wanted too. She just does not care.
  17. Obviously you have never had a daughter play softball for her. And I know exactly who you are. Keep on supporting her she needs all she can get. Talent, no talent, average talent all through the years Ooltewah softball under the direction of Norma Nelson has never reached their potential. One thing has remained the same at OHS and it has been the coach she needs to move on and make way for a fresh new start with all the young kids there now and the new facility.
  18. Who cares? Where is your buddy youwilneverno? Everytime I respond to something he says he runs up Clifford's shirt tail and hides.
  19. Hey Dude at least we cancel em' when it's raining and not when the sun is shining.
  20. Anyway I prefer to hide behind my screen name on coach t just like everyone else on here! Ha!Ha! Yes we hate each other in Chattanooga blah...blah....blah....Middle Tenneesee is so much better they set the bar and raise the standards we fools in Chattanooga just can't even begin to compare. This site is for opinions and I feel free to give mine whenever I choose if you don't like it don't respond or don't read it! Go Soddy keep shining them rings maybe you will get your mind off softball and someone will slip in and kick your arrogant hineys!!!!!
  21. Close it who cares you are never going to get a straight answer anyway!
  22. Soddy fans can try and justify it all you want too. It appears the mighty "Trojans" were trying to avoid a loss so until the reason for the cancellation is stated people will continue to wonder and draw the conclusion that is obvious. I have continually given Soddy credit for being a great team and Clifford for being a great coach. This looks cowardly like it or not!!! And as far as a state ring I could go to a pawn shop or just move to Soddy like so many others do. Obviously you place more value on a state ring than I do. I guess all those girls that sit enjoy looking at that ring more than playing the game!
  23. I agree Indian why don't you do this.
  24. Kami tucker is definitely one that popped into my mind.
