Also, a lot of misinformation out there. Vestal chose to leave because he wanted to call the plays. Davis wanted him here. Overheard people saying he was ran off by administration or by Davis and that is simply not true.

Hearing that a lot of people are upset with this hire. I mean, how could you be upset with it? I do not understand! People amaze me. Hearing there is some fallout with players and potential players (8th graders). My question is this.................Why in the world would you NOT want your kid to play for Coach Davis?

Yeah, something going around on Facebook #hirevestal. It would be a HUGE mistake to miss out on Derrick Davis IMO. 

I wish they would just go ahead an announce it already. Why would they hold off? Why would you ponder hiring ANYONE else over DD?

Vestal interviewed this week. I am still under the impression that it's a one man race. Derrick Davis is the guy.

I've known him since he was knee high to a grasshopper. You're right, he would be PERFECT, however, he is very happy where he is and keeps climbing the ranks as a college coach. He will be big timin in a few years. He's SEC caliber. Wishful thinking.....huh?

I have heard Derrick Vestal has an interview after Spring Break. That's the only 2 I've caught wind of. 

I've heard some rumors like Brandon Derrick and Greg Ryan as well but those aren't very reliable sources.

He is NOT a hurricane. He may end up there when it's said and done but he is not a hurricane yet. Why interview for the Central job if he's a hurricane???

I am positive there is a process they have to go through before they hire someone. I expect several more interviews but the job is his to lose. Unless somebody just blows it up in an interview coming up.

You certainly have a right to your opinion. I don't know what the thought process is either, however, he could possibly be wearing those "baby blues" next season. 

I'd say you might be right. They have been turned down by alot of coaches. That I do know. I also know that alumni have applied, were willing to take a pay cut and were turned away with not even as much as an interview. So, they get what they deserve if a coach is there because they're the leftovers. Jmo

Interviews are underway. Heard big news of a big interview yesterday at Central. A lot of rumors as to who the interviewee was. If my guy is correct, then that's huge for Central. Hopefully more info leaks out from yesterday's interview.
