I know I will get blasted, but that’s ok, it’s what makes posting fun. I like where my Blaze have been going since the Oakland game...we are running the ball well with our RBs and getting Malone back healthy has helped! I think we are playing better on offense and feel good about our chances to get another shot at Oakland. I actually think our road to the 3rd round might be easier than Oakland’s - they have to play a Riverdale team that played them their closest game. Just my two cents - but I believe we are trending up since the Oakland game. Was also surprised at the halftime score of Oakland game with warren, but knew the patriots would turn it on and prevail.

Agree that injuring players purposely is not classy..... Also think scoring 80+ points in two games is lacking in class..... I know you will defend it somehow, but anyway you slice it, it is extreme.....

With our RB getting healthy and a few changes on defense that our coaches have made I really think we can cruise to the third round. We have an easier road than anyone else. It appears riverdale and Oakland will be a 2nd round match up and we are possibly matched up against Mt Juliet....we certainly respect Mt. Juliet after last year’s embarrassing loss up there. We seem to have found us an identity on offense with the coordinator change. 3rd round at Oakland looks possible to me...or against riverdale...they seemed to battle Oakland well on TV.

I see your points on a lot of that. I don't know coach oliver, he was here before we got here, but coach cunningham everyone loved, he did a great job with the lineman....hated to lose him, but understand leaving to be an OC at rockvale

I think rockvale will get better too, but my son says since coach hartsfield changed his OC around, the offense seems to be getting a little better. Hopefully with the addition of a couple more offensive coaches in the off season, the blaze will be a force for years to come! just wish we wouldn't have waited so long to make offensive changes...not sure on that one.

MTFB...You are very knowledgeable in HS FB in mid state. How would you rank the RuCo coaching staffs? I am curious as to what schools have managed to get the best staffs around here....

Like to hear your top teams to watch in the 6A playoffs this year.... 1. Oakland - have drilled everyone 2. Maryville - cause they are maryville and always good 3. Ravenwood - Talented team, a touch overrated? 4. Brentwood - always solid it seems 5. Whitehaven - talented and tough 6. Dobyns Bennet - Record is good, don't know much about them 7. Mt. Juliet - Solid team and program 8. Blackman - Sleeper team, talent abounds Others? Thoughts?

I am hoping the bye week helped us get it all fixed. I don’t really know for sure who is in charge of offense but I think I know. I think we can finish 2nd and host and maybe make some noise! who usually makes decisions on OC,DC, etc? Head coach, principal, AD? do you think we have talent like I think, or am I looking at it with rose colored glasses?

Our special teams have been an issue too, not sure who coaches them, but they have not been good either. Our offense is the worst I have seen so far of all the district teams. We have more talent than a lot of district teams, but our scheme is bad. I thought coach kit had it fixed, but Oakland made me think he didn’t. However, Oakland will make lots of teams offense look bad. But I just feel like we have the talent to be more competitive, I think we only had 2-3 first downs. I don’t know for sure who is calling the shots on offense, I have an idea, but I know it’s bad. Hope we can get this fixed b4 the third round when we get shot #2 at Oakland.

Man! I dreaded coming on here today, but I ain’t gonna hide... my observations - talent gap between Oakland and Blackman is there, but not huge. Coaching gap....well....it just is what it is. our offense was horrendous - it has been most of the year....it’s obvious that something has to change in scheme or something - I don’t know. special teams - bad...just bad right now....hurt us against Alcoa and again tonight - I wish we would fix it. defense - was ok but gave up a big pass early like we have in all our losses. I just really believe we could play Oakland closer - don’t know that we could beat them, but I don’t see a 40 point differential in talent. I am glad we are 3-4 I guess and 2nd in district cause we are almost 2-4 and 3rd. Not much else I can say...congrats Oakland

I agree with u Blaze45. Our safeties are very short. I have sat in stands and wondered why #2 can’t be a safety. He’s rangy! Murphy will stop the run I believe but the pass does worry me. Thank goodness Oakland is a running team and not a pass happy team like independence was. They put on a clinic that night...our poor DBs were shell shocked.

Has Oakland ever lost to a team they were as good or better than...just curious

I believe we are equal cause I was at both games and they each could have went either way. Look at the scores. Both games were even games that a play or two goes blackman way, we win both. That's how i believe we are equal to those two teams. Has Oakland ever lost a game when they were equal or better than the team they played? Maryville....Whitehaven?

So, to me, that is the betting line on Oakland - Blackman, cause Blackman was every bit equal to those teams and we may have our offensive struggles worked out now and if we do, it will be a 7 point game either way!!! I can't wait!!!!

Honest question here....how would Oakland do against Ravenwood and Alcoa....in your opinion....blow outs?

We have great LBs and a big DL... I just think Oakland schedule has been weak (and not their fault) and they have not been tested in the least, not one team they have played has close to the same talent as them. Friday night, talent will be more equal... Like I said, we will see. I hope Oakland is full strength...and I hope we are as well.

We got the talent to get there.....if we use them correctly....and I think last week started that... But friday is big, I will give you that....but I just like our chances.

So...with your logic....Oakland is better than Indy, who beat Blackman by 30+, so should I assume Oakland wins by 35 or more.....is that what you are saying..... Surely Oakland is better than Indy on Offense, so Blackman will give up 56 or more this week....right? I guess I am gonna stay home....yawner.

2019 Oakland is not better than 2018 Oakland either.... I haven't seen much of oakland, but i would believe blackman defense front is similar to oakland...probably as good....i would have a hard time believing anyone has better LBs than us either....but I havent seen oakland live at all. Also - on the 17 seconds part....a play or two here and there and we are 5-1 with two very quality wins....we didn't pull those out, but we also did pull it out vs riverdale - so I am only using your reasoning as well. I just truly believe this game will not be the run away you on patriot drive think it will be....it will be a 4th quarter game and I believe beam and his WRs will be the difference in the end.
