Well, with some time off and now off season workouts going on, I am interested in what you guys may think about the 2020 season for the blaze. We had a strong finish to a hard season and got to the third round. My son says that the weight room is going great and the team is getting after it. We got some talented lineman coming back! What about the rest of the district....is everyone still playing for 2nd?

my son said he overheard the coaches at school about one of the blackman assistants trying for this job, but he doesn't know which one.....has anyone else heard this or just a kid rumor?

Agree...he's not going anywhere. Our discipline hurts us and we have gotten several unsportsmanlike and personal foul penalties all year. We had way too many penalties against wilson central, but it didn't hurt us cause we were much better than them. Our kids play with a lot of enthusiasm and sometimes we just get overboard, but it helps us in some cases. Coach Hartsfield ain't going no where, although, I do hope he makes a few staff changes. Our offense was just bad at times this year.

Read the newspaper article and I have a question....Coach Hartsfield said Conner Murphy got ejected for getting on his teammates.....how does this happen....baloney on the refs. anyone?

Man...what a butt whipping. I didn’t think our defense would get pounded like that. Hats off to Oakland on that. Now the personal fouls on us ...happened all year and never got fixed, so we deserve for those to haunt us tonight. And offensively...we were gross all year. I thought we had buried the wingT or whatever we ran tonight was. And then special teams...we still find a way to do something bad on them in big games. The KOR turnover before the half really hurt us. oh well...5 losses on the year....most in a while, but we will bounce back and I hear the basketball teams will be good! good luck Oakland heading to Maryville!

Good analysis. I like what Coach Hartsfield said in the paper. We did shoot our selves in the foot and give away a bunch of points last time. Looks like coach is confident which makes me confident. He said what I have been thinking. Tough schedule gonna have us ready. you gonna be there MTFB or will the rain scare you off? I have heard Oakland fans don’t show up in bad weather! Lol

B45 and MidTenn.... Thinking about this game and I see the talent posts on here...Would like your two cents worth on match ups.. QBs - even with both teams having good qbs....Beam has more yards, but more INTs as well.... RBs - Oakland has several backs, while the blaze have a 1000 yard rusher...slight edge to oakland maybe? Line - not sure, seems like both teams are solid here - so even WRs - I gotta go with Blackmans WRs - don't know much on oaklands really DL - not sure here...help MidTenn - I know our DL is big, not sure on oaklands with warren county running on them well LB - Murphy gives us the edge - mr football candidate DBs - probably oakland - i think they have a kid going sec, even though ours are pretty good. Kickers - ??

I think you bring up some good points. Have not seen oakland since the riverdale tv game, but I read the paper about their games and people have moved the ball on them, more than we did the last time for sure. But we are different since that game. Coach hartsfield made some smart moves since that game and we have improved. BIg thing I like is after the game last night on the field, all the kids and coaches could talk about was how excited they were for this match up. They have wanted this opportunity and have worked hard at getting this second chance. They will be ready! I am confident of it...

I fully agree with you. I believe our defense is just as good or better than oaklands. They key will be no special teams errors and can our run game be what it has been. We have good WRs too...I don't know how oakland is throwing the ball...last game they didn't impress me in that area when we played the first time.

I wasn't there obviously...and I haven't seen them in person....but I have been saying Oakland seems to be trending down, but I get smacked in the face by others on this board when I have said it! The blaze are coming....you guys start slow this week, we having a party....our defense is Leeeegit...

I think Oakland is a little better than us, but not by 40. Having a full strength malone will help us - didn't have him last game at full strength. Our defense played well that night...our offense and kicking game hurt us. If we can shore those areas up then it can be a competitive game and maybe we could make a play or two to pull the upset. I guess I am saying this...i know oakland is good, but I don't believe they are 40 points better than us and I think we have worked some things out since the last game - you at least won't see us put 5 wrs out their and let oakland abuse drew. OC change helped with that!

There is no doubt the blaze are better on defense. The cold weather makes us lean on our run game and malone will go for over 200. The blaze are getting hot at the right time. I like our chances to make a good little run the next few weeks! I'm gonna tighten my prediction a little with the colder weather than I thought - Blackman 31 - Hendersonville 10

Wilson not that great...beat Lebanon was their best win... Blaze still trending up....Defense is pile driving people...Murphy is a DAWG!! glad to see TSSAA recognize him....about time someone did! WE ARE!

After seeing us tonight totally dominate Wilson Central.....our penalties kept it from being 50-0......and seeing Cookeville lead Hendersonville ...I think we are the prohibitive favorite and like I have said all along.....we will be advancing to the third round possibly at Oakland if they can handle a determined Mt. Juliet squad.... the Blaze are trending up for sure! did Oakland peak early? Guy covering game on twitter said there win was ugly tonight? What’s that about....we need them to play bad a little to give us a chance!

I wonder if any of the assistants from the blaze will apply. I believe some of them have been head coaches before and some probably would like a crack at it. They would know the ins and outs of ruco football. Don't want to lose any of them, but you can't blame them for wanting there own gig? Thoughts MTFB? You seem to know the pulse of this area as well as anyone....

commandos win easily - cookeville is down, saw them vs the blaze...no speed, good QB, not great on defense....talent is just down some, they will bounce back i'm sure.

Oakland over Lebanon Blackman over Wilson Central Riverdale over MJ Hendersonville over Cookeville Round 2 oakland - riverdale will be interesting in 2nd round....closest game the patriots had all year. Blackman at Hendersonville - the blaze hopefully learned a 2nd round lesson last year, too much speed for the commandos

My son says, and hes a teenager, that he thinks sometimes a couple of other coaches think they are in charge of team and they need to be quiet and let Coach Hartsfield be in charge....other than that, he likes the coaches.... As far as depth, we have pretty good depth, I do not think we are lacking in talent.....I am hoping we can surprise in the playoffs!

Blackman will smoke Wilson central, then play Hendersonville (which means an extra week to practice against the WingT) and then travel over to Oakland. Gonna be a fun month! WE ARE COMING TOGETHER - our offensive changes are helping us B45. Don’t you agree? You are at the games and can see it. Our defense has been stout all year, it’s the offense and kick teams that have held us back. Getting them right gives us a chance!
