I’d say LA could end up being a top-5 4A team, and Upperman is the second best team in the east behind Alcoa.

I missed that thread lol, but I wouldn’t say LA was better pound for pound. Could’ve gone either way. Two really great teams. Felt like a quarter or semifinal playoff game.

Upperman didn’t lose because of the calls, I should’ve worded it better. LA came to play, they are a legit threat in 4A. The bad call was the targeting. I watched it on tape, it was a clean textbook hit, no helmet-to-helmet contact. I make the comment about the officiating because those are momentum swingers. This game told me more about LA than UHS. UHS is one of the strongest 3A teams, we knew that. LA is emerging as one of the strongest 4A teams. Both could go far.

Going to be a phenomenal game. If UHS can get to the QB they will have a good chance. LA’s receivers are the real deal. I could easily see either team winning this game, and I think both have a chance to make some serious noise in the postseason. If I had to pick a winner I’ll lean towards UHS, only because the Bees have some more experience in these big games than the Wildcats. Regardless, it’s going to be a great game.

Spot on. I truly am not an Upperman person. Don’t hate them but don’t have any attachment. I like it when all the teams in the Upper Cumberland are good. It just so happens that UHS is really good right now

Upperman has 2 undefeated seasons. 3. The UHS defense is arguably better than last year, and weapons are emerging on offense. They have every chance of making it back to the semifinals.

I think we are all finding out Upperman is clearly the class of the region.

I’ve been very impressed by the Owls, but Upperman is their stiffest test by far so far this season. I’ll take the Bees 28-13, but it won’t shock me if this is closer than that. What do you think?

I certainly hope you're right. I get accused of being an Upperman homer but in reality I just love good high school football. I don't have a dog in the fight, it just so happens that UHS is pretty good right now. I hope UHS-LA and UHS-H20 are great games.

Coming into the year I thought that would be a good game, but only beating Gordy by 6 got me way off their bandwagon.

Should be a great game. They are certainly the biggest test left on the schedule. I think UHS matches up pretty well vs LA’s weaknesses, but it’s still a couple weeks away.

Uhh, not to jump in on a thread of a game I didn’t watch, but Upperman is still pretty good. Defense is one of the best in 3A and their QB will be in the Mr. Football discussion. Pretty good shot that they play Alcoa again actually, FYI.

Livingston looks pretty good since the second half of week 1. Given the state of the region they may be able to come out on top. Cookeville is in for a rough year if they can’t figure out how to score from the 1 yard line. Vs Riverdale next week could be ugly.

Not surprised by this result at all. Upperman is barreling towards another 10-0 year imo. Next week vs Smith County could be a decent test though.

Don’t bank on it lol. Caine usually has his guys locked in on the game at hand. Dekalb winning would be absolutely stunning.
