We still don’t know for sure what triggered the dad to go to the TSSAA with text messages offering to connect the dad with funding sources likely as he needed at Ensworth.  Someone posted earlier about not getting a release from Lipscomb because he played as an 8th grader in a varsity game???

    Anyone have info on that?

In addition, he was a former or maybe even a current student at Lipscomb?? He announced on May 26 on X and Kreager re-X’d it.  It’s hard to see this as recruiting.  More about finding financial aide resources to close the gap.  Why in the world would Mr Text Message take this to the TSSAA?

I’m now struggling to understand what they are guilty of.

    This ain't rocket science.

Lipscomb would not sign his release thereby making him ineligible at Ensworth this year. If the school you are leaving is willing to sign the release saying you did not transfer for athletic purposes then he could have played for Ensworth this year. Sometimes it is worth signing just to get rid of a headache. Sometimes you say heck no.

Vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord.

One in the same - living vicariously through his son.  He's left a mess at every school his son has been enrolled.  Ensworth better watch out.  Sorta sad that FCA is his employer. Peek at his SM, Jesus this and Christian that.  Karma is something else.

His baggage from BA sure didn't stop Lipscomb from welcoming him with open arms.

    Hypocrite. Fool me once..........................................................................................................

They have open zoning there.  Several counties over here do not sure about Middle Tn. I think the decision has to be made by your freshman year.  I suppose obvious answer is to not get careless and sloppy with text. Don’t make the wrong people mad.  Make sure you cover all tracks.  If you get caught then do the time for the crime and don’t whine if you are guilty.

All of Davidson County is open zone.

So if you were accused by the government of a "crime," and you know you didn't do it, would you just say, "Well, they say I did it and I don't want to fight it, take me to jail."  The TSSAA rules on recruiting are very vague, per the US Constitution, we have the right to a fair trial.  SCOTUS ruled that the TSSAA violated the 14th Amendment.  Ya'll need to read up on the BA case, be informed!

You might want to read up as well. BA lost. Voluntary membership in TSSAA. They, as well as Lipscomb, chose to join. Their rules come with it.

5th grade elementary school in dad's "hometown". 6th grade went to BA after shopping him to every school in the area. 7th grade BA again. 8th grade Lipscomb, 9th grade (currently) Ensworth.

This is absolutely correct. There should also only be 4 classes in the public sector.  9 gold balls is like a participation trophy.

4 public and 2 private would make the most sense numbers wise. Just not in playoff $$

8th grader doesn't have to be released by school he/she previously attended unless they played in varsity game during 8th grade season.

He played. And dad posted about every single play he was in on.

I do admit I giggled a bit when I heard who it was. A kid on his 4th school in 5 years.

Everybody seems to know dad and the baggage he brings and yet everyone was lining up to be the next landing school for his young ward. HMMMMMMMM.

Will this be the beginning of the end for the Tennessee private schools competing under the umbrella of the TSSAA?  IMO, the minute the private schools were forced into divisions that have less that 50 teams they should have terminated all contracts with the TSSAA and formed a private school league that is separate from the TSSAA.  The only thing that the TSSAA and the public schools want from the private schools is money!

The NFHS will only recogize one governing body per state. If privates were to "go out on their own" they would truly be doing that. Catastrophic insurance coverage would have to be picked up by a much smaller group. A whole new governing body that somehow would not promote their schools' own interest over the group as a whole. would have to be implemented. No national Association membership. If you think recruiting is bad now, it would further dvide the financial haves and have nots. You might be surprised to find you would be part of a, maybe, 10 team island.

MNPS does not care if you forfeit a game.  They would rather you shut the program down.

Republic is not an MNPS school. It is a Charter School. No MNPS money is spent there. They take money that WOULD go to MNPS, but not directly from MNPS. No Metro school has forfeited mid game this year.

I would not bet your lunch money on that happening. just a senario that is possible. I am pretty sure BA has gotten worse every game. they are the definition of dumpster fire.

Booger, what happens first, LA gets new coach or BA gets new coach? thats the bet

Depends if you mean "get new coach" or "lose current coach"

for classification purposes, I believe they double the number for single gender schools.

That is correct. Just like Harpeth Hall, St Cecilia, Hutchinson School, GPS and St. Agnes have their all girls school doubled.

The TSSAA needs to get their collective heads out of their backsides and decide what bracket they are going to use.

Back in July, they put out a bracket showing 5 middle region teams making the playoffs.  I found this bracket at tssaa.com. Click sports, then football, then click football regulations.  Just last week I was on tssaasports.com. After clicking 2023 playoff info, I discovered a different D2A bracket showing the West Region bracket getting 5 playoff teams. About half an hour ago, I noticed the bracket on tssaasports.com has changed again and it is now showing the original bracket I saw months ago on the tssaa.com site. What is going on with the bracket TSSAA? Please get your act together.  Having a bracket, changing it, and then changing it back to the original is not a good look. Get your act together please.

The TSSAA does not operate this site. Call them and ask.

  13. theawesomebro, there is a whole lot of noise coming out of your camp about Mawae and next year.

I still think he was set up for failure because LA could not keep up the influx of out of state transfers without the Dilfer camp draw. Dilfer figured out pretty quick when Ingle embarrassed him in the state final that he had to go get better players from the 4 corners of the earth to make up for the coaching deficit.

Mawae is not a circus performer and that is what these kids want these days. Coaching is irrelevant. All about the promotion.

I will say there is also noise coming from a couple other Nashville based AAA schools. Could be a fruit basket turnover in the middle region.

It's as close to a certainty as it can be. Glencliff has never been good in a historical context. They only had 2 good seasons under Jim Wilson. 2 of the best coaches metro has had coached/ are coaching at Pearl

All it would take is a developer with pockets to start buying up the property around the school and putting up $$$ housing selling the proximity to "downtown and Nashville nightlife". You obviously have not lived here long enough to know what the Nations, Germantown and East Nasty were like before the "urban renewal'.

Glencliff was a power in the 60's under Herschel Moore, late 80's under Broadbent and a couple years with Wilson.  Yall act like Pearl was always great. Pearl Cohn was open for 12 years before they were any good. It didn't happen until they put the "arts Magnet" over there so John Henderson could go to PC while living in the McGavock zone. You had to take something they offered that your zoned school didn't. Don't remember PC wanting Wheeler Henderson to come with him.

PC built a tradition that is strong, but nothing is forever. Creek had strong teams for 25 years with terrible facilities. Now they are a 2A school.

Well since we talking about the scene of metro football. Antioch is coming back from the dead. Also arguably the best middle school team in the city/Midstate “Rose parks” most of the kids are heading to Whites creek from what’s being said. James Lawson got some kids so it’s looking like metro is rising. Btw we need to get this Rose park & Blackman middle school game!

Is AB coaching football at Rose Park? I know he does basketball. Kids from out that way going to the Creek of all places just shows what the biggest Metro problem is.

booger estimatin that Catholic North gets throttled by them Church O Christers visitors from Nashville....if not their a meetin after mass saturday tween Sompracs and new pope to figure that mess out

if Booger Pickin is wrong....then LA begs for D2-AA again

    Booger just sayin

They will go back after next year. Book it.

  17. 1. A real strength program. Whatever they are doing is not working.

    2. Some speedy skill players to show up for school and practice.

    3. A coach that does not get bored with working on the fundamentals. 80% of the game.

    4. A fresh perspective on the sidelines.

No reason not to be at least a playoff team.
