  1. Yeah I would hate to be a visitor to J. Fred. Sitting on that side would probably make me like J. Fred a lot less. Farragut and Oak Ridge have the two best stadiums I've seen in Tennessee so far.
  2. I'm still around... I just hibernate from the T normally after basketball season. I'm not sure what to expect from this one... I read where Joey wasn't exactly over the moon with last week's scrimmage against your Blazers at ETSU, so that has me a little concerned about Friday night.
  3. Not sure if true, but I heard he left Union in the first place because their coach wouldn't play him in both games against Gate City last year (both Union losses). So, it would make sense that he would want revenge.
  4. Read an article in the KTN about the QB situation at D-B. All three QB's vying for the starting job are transfers from somewhere. The kid from Abingdon who was already in the system wasn't the best last year when he played. The kid from Union, I have learned from folks I know in Southwest Virginia, has no varsity experience. Don't know anything about the kid from Elizabethton. The QB situation, at the very least, looks a little bleak. Also saw Christian say that all three would probably split time. That doesn't seem to work very often either, regardless of location.
  5. Pretty sure the serious answer is Big East conference. PAC-6 was pretty funny though, even though Slick Willy B is nowhere close to a Pal's. I stopped by the 825 and Ole Willy B on Saturday and took some photos.
  6. Day, the center, is also a senior.
  7. I agree with this take... But, even if we had won today with him, there was no way we were winning the whole thing. Independence and Hillsborough look far better than the other semifinalists in which they're up against. In the end, the gold ball is the only thing that matters. Only one team gets to end their season with a win, and they'll be hoisting it. My final thought on this years Indians is that we overachieved this year. We got farther than I think we probably should have, especially if you look at how our early season was going. I mean, we were flirting with a losing record entering January. Coach Poore is why we made it to this point. If only we could hire someone else from Greeneville to be our football coach. Anyone know how much Ballard's kid has left at West Point? Can we get him? Lol
  8. Didn't catch that part, though I was trying to listen to it at my desk at work. My bad.
  9. No, they were already out in football when this occurred I believe. Found his mon on Facebook. She posted that indeed he was not allowed to travel with the team and an appeal had been made to the principal, AD and school board. They are driving down tomorrow. Guess there's a possibility that if they win an appeal and they win tomorrow, maybe he could play the semifinal? Not sure how an appeal like that could even work out.

  11. Yeah, we'll be heavy underdogs now with Gillespie out. We have players who can step in and assume that role, but they're both very young and may not be ready for this big of a stage yet.
  12. I believe the first was marijuana. He was with Dabbs of Greeneville when it happened, I do know that. Dabbs was suspended till after the first of the new year for his role. Gillespie only sat out three games.
  13. Didn't see Gillespie in the Facebook video just now of the team boarding the bus to the 'Boro. Guess that answers that question.
  14. Ah... as I said earlier... one mistake is forgivable. Second is not. Definitely needs to be dismissed from the team, in my opinion. Old saying applies... "Fool me once, shame on me. Fool me twice, shame on you." And as @lumberjackmak said above... no rule stating that he still can't play, so maybe he will... it will be a very unpopular and unethical decision across the state outside of Kingsport if he does. But guess we'll just have to wait and see come Wednesday. They've got other kids who can step up and fill that role. McHugh has really come on in the postseason. Hayworth is a star in the making as well I believe.
  15. https://www.timesnews.net/news/local-news/d-b-guard-gillespie-arrested-on-dui-charge-saturday/article_3eb6eb80-c1a2-11ed-b48c-5b5a317dfb4f.html Confirmed by the Kingsport Times News now as well...
  16. I still haven't been able to find a link to be honest...
  17. This would be the second offense as he missed the first several games of the season due to something similar. First offense, I would chalk it up to being young and irresponsible and forgivable. Second offense should be automatic dismissal from the team, no question. I thought it was a bad look also that Gillespie only sat out a few games, but Dabbs of Greeneville sat out until after the first of the year for a similar offense.
  18. I honestly wished that all states were like Kentucky and only had one state champion for all sports except football. I mean how fun would it have been to see a potential D-B/Greeneville game for all the marbles last year since they split the regular season meetings... I agree with an earlier post that adding a fourth class has kind of weakened the field for all four classes. That being said, hoping the Indians can go down to the Glass House and come back to KPT with back to back gold balls. Won't be able to see the run this year though as I am leaving on a cruise ship next week.
  19. Concession stand lady is happy that once again the season won't extend past week 11.
  20. I can respect this take. Unlike some of the stuff I have seen on Twitter. I'd say the folks from Blount were devastated. This is the second year in a row you guys feel like you got the shaft. Last year for sure, as there wasn't anything in that video with Farragut last year that I saw that warranted an ejection from either team really. On the other foot, this is the second year we've "benefitted" from the substate round. I use that term in quotes, because of the video I saw last night, it looked like a foul. Last year we certainly got a benefit of having to play a depleted Farragut team in the substate. Who knows if the Admirals have a full roster for that one if we're even sitting here talking about being a defending state champ trying to defend its crown.
  21. Actually, I should probably take back what I said in these last few posts... I really don't have a problem with Crockett, and I'd pull for them against teams from out of our district. Don't think that feeling is mutual though and not just from ole Stockton either. Anyways, this thread is about the Region 2-AAAA. Seeing Karns back in December when they played us, I would've bet the farm they would've got to the Boro. I'd say Sevier beating them is a monumental upset.
  22. In case you forgot, I was in Jonesborough. Lol Thought it was hilarious when one of the girls players mom flipped you off after the game too.
  23. Get out the baseballs and softballs. I'm sure we'll beat you there too before we send you packing down to 3A.
