This is true Lady Cavs won by 20-25 pts last week. But Livingston will be alright later in the year. They gotta get more scoring from someone other than Butler. MG is the answer. They have too much talent to not figure it out.

It was a very good game. Other than Garcia and Masingale it was a defensive battle for 5 periods. McMinn and Masingale deserved that ending. Great player and a great shot. Lady Cavs had a lot of question marks after graduating their best two players last year but they clearly showed they can play with anyone. Good luck this season. Fun team to watch.

Big time games played in the UC tonight. GP takes down York in OT. And McMinn Central takes down Cookeville with a BIG TIME shot with 0:03 on the clock in OT. Great basketball games being played to open the season.

I will have to look that up to be honest. We lose some key starters but the core is still there. A lot of young talent too.

Cookeville definitely showed tonight how much they have improved this season. That was not a cake walk by Riverdale. The Cavs played well and Riverdale had to fight. I am sure the Cavs wish they had a few plays back but overall it was great football playoff game. Score was not representative of how close the game was IMO. But I believe both teams thought the officiating was crazy in second half. Changed the flow of the game and Cookeville seemed to get the worst end of most of the calls. I am not saying that officials changed the game. I am just saying….they sucked! I am excited to see how much this team improves next year.

I have no doubt that he had those kids believing after that speech. This year, after the last few games, its going to take a little bit more to build that fire. But I do believe they can keep that game close.

IMO This is not a good matchup for Cookeville's defense. They have been good at stopping the run on defense for most of the year. Not very good at stopping the pass. We play alot of soft coverage and give short passes and underneath routes that cause problems with playmakers catching short passes and busting a big play. I think they are going to have to play more press coverage and make the QB/WR make the throw and catch in order to give us enough time to get a decent pass rush. Offensively we will have to establish the run. But we can not play one dimensional and win this game unless it is run run run run. Our run game has been very consistent over the last 6 games with multiple 250yd games. We mix in alot of types of run's (power, speed, screens, read/option) which is what they will continue to do during this game. We do have a stud OL #74 who is a freaking bulldozer. Most of our key runs are on that left side following 74. If we can't run we are in trouble. But if they stack the box we can definitely have some WR that can make plays. I also expect the passing game and trick play book to be opened up this week. I think Cookeville will have to keep the score under 27 in order to have a shot. If they Cavs can run the ball consistently they will have shot to do this. If they can't run the ball and the clock it could get ugly quick. #GoCavs

That was a dominant win by Cookeville. Siegel was never really in the game after their first drive. They got a gift score right before halftime that should have never happened. But they never really came close to scoring on an offensive drive after first drive of the game. Cookeville dominated both sides of the ball and special teams.

Definitely not a given.

Cookeville is 6-1 all time vs Siegel. And everyone thinks they have more athletes than Cookeville. Nothing new. IMO they are playing too well right now. I think the Cavs will make it 7-1 Friday.

After the crazy stuff that has happened over the last 2-3 weeks that is definitely something that could happen. But I do think that there is enough talent for Region 4 to win a couple of games in first round. But not so much that I think either game is a definite win.

I can't believe nobody is talking about that Lebanon vs Gallatin game! That should be a great game and its a huge game in the region standings. Of course Mt Juliet vs Green Hill should be a good game as well. Nothing like a rivalry game. And Cookeville isn't good enough to have a bad game and win so they will need to play well to finish their business.

AP voters only know the team in their market. Its common knowledge that they don't know football or basketball. There needs to be a coaches poll to help the AP voters out. And to think we let these same people vote on Mr/Mrs Basketball/Football.

Only seed decided is 1. Everyone except WC is playing a win and you are in game. There are some scenarios where some teams could lose and they could still make playoffs but basically you win and you are in regardless of what anyone else does.

I agree totally. We will see how good the region is during the playoffs but I will say this. This Cav team has been well prepared, great coaching, great play calling, and tremendous fight every single night. It’s been a long time since we could say that. And when the players start believing thats makes a team very dangerous. And when they are lining up and running it down your throat it makes them even more dangerous. Go Cavs!

I bet all the eyes in the region are on this game. Just hope we play well tonight.
