  1. so if I read the standings correctly Tullahoma lost bad to page tonight and looks like there will be a three way tie possibly if Lawrence County wins on Thursday and Lincoln County beats Tullahoma again on Thursday.  What would the tie breaker be for the 2nd place finisher.  Looking at it Lincoln County would of beat Tullahoma twice and Lawrence would of beat Lincoln County twice.  Tullahoma has beat Lawrence County twice.  All have lost bad to page

Your comments seems to question Loretto's ability on the court or your reasoning why we won by X number points.  If we played Tullahoma 10 times we probably would beat them 10 times.  I think they are a solid team and we just came off a thumping of  Lawrence County +38,  Oakland +37, Lakeway Christian + 29, and what I think may be the best in 3 A Jackson Southside +11 with our +17 over Tullahoma, all those games played  in a row.  I'm not sure what Loretto has to do to impress your line of reasoning.

nothing, good luck rest of the way hope regular season translates to postseason for your girls

Lady Raiders getting a much needed 1-day break.  Fatigue seems to be setting in after traveling to Warren County Friday night and then Rockvale last night and managing to squeak out wins in both by 6 combined total points.  Lady Raiders close the regular season at Shelbyville tomorrow night, at Franklin County Tuesday night, and then at Tullahoma Friday night.

not only much needed rest but a easy week unfortunately for my rebelettes.  try to take it easy on us, the eaglettes and the wildkittens this week. good luck

Blackman, Bradley Central, Coffee Co, Stewarts Creek, Cleveland, Rockvale, Warren Co, Oakland - Only 2 can go to State, my lady pioneers have an outside shot if we shoot it well and can play an entire game. And you are correct about Shelbyville and Franklin Co, no chance. Coffee hasn't lost a district game in 4 years and have won 2 region games, I wouldn't call that falling on their face, Blackman, Riverdale and Bradley Co have won the last 10 State Championships between them lol and they all come from Warren and Coffee's sectional. I'm sure if your rebelttes went undefeated in district play and beat stew creek and rockvale in the region you would have a parade. Warren Co will not lose to Franklin Co or Shelbyville this year or next, write it down. Just because your program is a joke don't come at others who own you.

it could happen, your coaches could have another TSSAA rules violation that could cost a win.  never say never when breaking rules, have a good day

We didn't play our best against Tullahoma & still won by 17 in their house. Only 2 teams have played us closer than 14 points.  Both were two of the better defensive teams in the state (Jackson South Side by 11, and Westmoreland by 7).  The game against Westmoreland (outside of Karly's performance) was one of our worst games of the year (early in the season).

Karly is obviously our X Factor, but our girls play with immense heart.  They hustle from start to finish and they have 0 quit in them.  Super proud of the season they're having.

I was still impressed with the defensive effort tullahoma had versus you all.  For it to be down to single digits in the fourth before they ran out of steam and put their subs in, I think they had a lot to do with you all not playing your best.

Yeah, that was the score, but that record of Lincoln Co. is nothing man. They are not that good of a team AT ALL!! They had more “unforced” turnovers than points. It was a lot of home cooking going on too! Your refs are terrible and you could definitely tell they like Page. No, that wasn’t the reason for the win, but they weren’t going to ever let that game get close. . . LC is not good. . . Page is again good but not great. Maybe it was a bad night for them. . . #3 seems pretty good but fouled out. #00 plays ZERO defense! #23 was OK. . . Can’t remember anyone else, but I wasn’t impressed.

I am from franklin county was just reporting what the paper had in box score

Looking at Page schedule looks  weak. Just curious the 1 loss was to a very average Lebanon team. I think white county and Livingston is 10 -15 points better than Lebanon and Upperman and Crossville probably equal or close game anyways basing on matchups. Curious what your assessment is?

the games i have been able to watch in this district the teams second through four are above average high school teams with good players on them that some will play at the next level and all are well coached.  page has only been challenged somewhat once at Lawrence County according to reports on here and still won by double digits.  Page has beat up on all the district opponents and outside the loss to Lebanon who is always tough they are very good team. Tullahoma has won some impressive games versus rockvale and warren county both ranked in 4a. Lincoln County was ranked earlier in the year in 3a and has won some games but I was at the game where my rebelettes beat them and they did look sluggish. Lawrence County is always a team in the past I never wanted to see in any tournament and they have always been tough.  i am not sure where the district tournament is held or region but i would enjoy to be able to see these teams play.  I still think Page will win the region but i do think they will be the only 8aaa team to win a game in region tournament.

Listen, the starters played the first quarter and usually play a couple of minutes in the 3rd coming out of halftime. This play was in the first minute of the 3rd quarter. And not bragging but we have played few games where our starters have played two quarters. Being in shape and being in game shape to play 4 quarters is 2 different things. We will have to play some 4 quarter games in the near future so what do you suggest we do? The 2 Summertown games, the Jackson So Side and Westmoreland games have honestly been the only games our starters have seen extended minutes.

I don’t think the play was intentional but it was a foul and should’ve been called and the worst part is you have a scumbag official   making a statement like that? He should never do another game again. That entire crew allowed a lot of things both ways. Seeming to get the game over.

i watched you play at Christmas because I was curious how good your team was and it was a thirty minute drive to tullahoma to watch my granddaughter play earlier in the day in a tournament.  you were not challenged by Oakland but the varsity players seemed to play most if not all the game.  The next night was much tougher game versus tullahoma and was eight point game at halftime and 12 after third quarter.  your starters played almost the entire game that night and although tullahoma was undermanned I thought they played you well.  Oakland did not shoot well and had no answer for your transition offense.

White County beats LA and for now is #1 in the district.

saw them play earlier in year and i do not think they have the guards to make a deep run once the tournament starts.  coach there never seems to do much with talent he has from tournament to tournament

I was there too buddy. Wish I could’ve met you! I agree with you though. . . Page was not all that impressive to me either. This was the second time I’ve watched them this year and thought they were just “good” not “great” both times. #3 is pretty good but tends to foul a lot. She fouled out tonight. I think once they play some of the better AAA teams, they’ll get exposed. They’re decent though but not dominant.

was the score 30-10 at the half versus a good Lincoln county team?  i am no coach but as a fan of basketball 43 to 16 is dominant after only three quarters of play and with your top two scorers having played only ten minutes each.

i believe coffee county did lose to Shelbyville a few years ago as well as tullahoma in the district tournament.  we would throw a parade if we won a region game over here it has been such a long time.  I will say I have been impressed with the competition on both the girls and boys side in the district this season.  I have been to most of the games and they all have been competitive even if they have turned into blowouts.  there is good coaching in this district and the players have stepped up all year long. Good luck to your team the rest of the way

It is sad, and seems to be getting worse every year.  The TSSAA needs to step in and do something, but we all know they won't.  And they have really screwed the reclassifications up, you have some 4 team regions, then you have 9 team regions. Schools in regions with teams over 100 miles away, a real mess.

why is franklin county in a four team district?

They have a tough road.   They face Bradley Central district in the region and then murfreesboro region in sectionals.

does not look good for my rebelettes at all or the district

It will be interesting to see who they get. The job hasn't been posted as yet.

this is all coming as secondary sources and nothing is ever official. Principal Joey was also said to have told parents in a meeting to call aau coaches and have them apply and ask the parents who they would like as the next coach.  i am no principal and certainly have never worked in a school environment but I would venture you do not want to go down that avenue when searching for a coach.  parents are part of. the reason you are in the mess you are in, why involve them unless you feel your job is at jeopardy

No idea who'll they get, both girls and boys programs are struggling this year.

the front runner right now is a woman in Manchester who runs a travel ball program and would get some players from surrounding areas.  other applicants i have been told by people here in town are the former middle school boys coach who use to be a high school and college coach, the old Columbia Central girls coach, a franklin county current assistant coach, and a coffee county current assistant coach.  was also told the principal would make the hire not the athletic director

I agree with you 100%,.  This has gone on  in basketball, and football for years, in Tennessee, and the TSSAA looks the other way.

what a shame it is and now webb has entered and started to take girls from this area as well as young men with offers of professional ball. this has to stop or the integrity of the game will just not be upheld

    Coffee County schedule adjustments:

Make-up game at Shelbyville Feb 7th

Make-up game at Franklin County Feb 8th

Scheduled game at Pickett County Feb 8th cancelled

What district does coffee county go against in the region?  Murfreesboro is strong but Bradley is strong as well.  Can coach joe finally make it out of the second round of the region or does he fall flat on his face again?  Warren County could make some moves in postseason if they get hot from the three point line.  Shelbyville and my rebelettes will not do anything and will go home early unfortunately.

Franklin County has hired some good coaches in Basketball, and Football, I hope they will be patient with them.  I thought they didn't give coach Mac McCurry enough time, but I think Coach Cunningham will do a good job in Football.

Coffee County will probably win there district, but will probably have to face Blackman in the regionals. Warren County is pretty good, and its a shame how far Shelbyville has fallen since Insell left.

I guess I'm old school, but I liked the old 8AAA.

i was unaware that is the district that our district matched up with in basketball still.  I had hoped we would go somewhere west and have a chance. The old district 8 was a lot of fun and easy to traverse for this old lady that is for sure and great competition over the years.

Page and Livingston Academy in aaa possibly upperman or white county or cumberland county.  i live in franklin county and Huntland would beat us by 20 points they are much better than Eagleville and i saw Moore county play a few weeks ago and they have two girls who are good and a few young girls that can help.

it is a shame when both were on the rise.  I knew my rebelettes would struggle this year but we will be ok going into the next few years.  tullahoma had some years there in the nineties where they didn’t win but one or two games a year and were pitiful.  boys were not much better, so it is hard when you run good coaches off from that.  I hope we keep coach holt and ag around for a long time.

    Not anymore what's happen to the bee's i can't believe it ?

predictable coaching and no inside game.  shut one girl down on perimeter and the family coaching has not changed over the years will continue to do same as always done why the son came back home it was easier than doing it at his own place and getting beat now do it with family and get beat.  mom gets one title and it is the gold standard and has to have the refs help with that.  cumberland county, white county, Livingston academy all are better teams.  Upperman will be out first round of region by page if they make it out of district tournament.

I'm from Tullahoma, McMurty had success at West Middle, and had the girls program headed in the right direction. The girls program was down for many  years, it's sad when interfering parents, and school administration  can ruin things, but Tullahoma isn't the only school that has this problem. I don't know  Joey Quick the principal, I do know John Olive the AD, and he is a first class guy.

Current coach  Dale Alsup, is in his  70's, it is doubtful he will elevated to head coach from the interim. The job hasn't been posted yet.

You're right Page should have no trouble winning the district.

agree if the parents stay out of the way and the administration can just let coaches do the job they hire them to do then success can be had.  seems like that was not the case in tullahoma and as you mentioned goes on in a lot of systems across the state unfortunately.  i am sure the former coach will find another spot and continue with his success as you mentioned he had previously and i know he had the wildkittens headed in the right direction as a program.

Now where do they turn as the track record is not good in tullahoma.  last few coaches before did not end well with arrest for drugs and the others for losing to much.
