He's a really good player, and is capable of far more than we typically ask of him.

Fortunately he's just a sophomore, and already has 26 games under his belt. If I were a betting man I'd say he's in for a pretty strong next couple of years.

Oh yeah, just need to somehow replace a Jawon Odoms. Sheesh. Lol. Need a playmaker receiver or two.

HC fans, I was really hoping y’all and us (OR) could square off in the championship, but wasn’t meant to be. Postgame Gaddis (G-Man) was talking about how much he loved Henry County and their fan base. Maybe next year? The Patriots will be back, no doubt.

Yes sir, I'm 1000% rooting for Oak Ridge. I normally don't root for the East team but I think all of Henry County is rooting for y’all!!

I agree. It was a good game and a good overall season. HC may not have been "great" this year, but they turned out pretty dang good from where they started. And I really like the nucleus of talent they have coming back for these next couple of years.

Best of luck to our seniors. Odoms has a real shot at a great career at Memphis. Guys like Perry, Littleton, Kendall, etc. are all gonna be missed, and I think Jamarcus Johnson is good enough to play small college ball. What a monster year.

Absolutely man! Not bad if you are going to lose to a 6A and 5A team that are both in Cookeville and we did beat a 4A team that is now in Cookeville.

How was HC not supposed to even be in the semis this year when Memphis schools aren't even playing.  Not sure y'all had a tough road and you beat everyone you were supposed to beat.  Congrats on that accomplishment...you are one of the fortunate ones to still be playing tonight.  However, I am not sure you can say you weren't even supposed to be there when your best competition didn't play due to the pandemic.

I'm talking about the beginning of the season. Before anyone knew that Memphis wasn't going to be playing. We are a VERY young team. So yes, we are not supposed to be in the semifinals. Several sophomores are playing huge roles for us this year. You can go back and look at the Henry County Offseason 2020 thread and see where a lot of Henry County fans was saying the next 2 years are when we feel we have a legit shot. Nobody that I know of thought we had a legit shot to make it to Cookeville this year. All we got to do is win ONE game and we are in Cookeville

  5. Yall know something that is 100% facts? Henry County was not supposed to be in the semifinals this year. We was supposed to be rebuilding this year in preparation for the next 2 years (which is our best shots of getting a gold ball) and Summit is supposed to be here. They was in the championship game just last year with the Wade boys back. Most people expect them to be in Cookeville. BUT........WHAT IF......Henry County pulls it off and ends up in Cookeville in a year we was not supposed to???? I think we are ready for that challenge!!! LET'S GO!!!!

i’d like to see anyone calling summit in a blow out. seems a bit far fetched. i think dang near everyone knows it’s gonna be a barn burner. i will say this though...going on the road won’t effect them the way you think it will. but we shall see. less than 24 hours til kick off! i’m already getting giddy haha.

also if you wouldn’t mind posting a link to the live stream that would be awesome!

There is the link. One guy picked Summit 38-14. Just scroll down to 5A.

Man the last time Henry Co. faithful were this confident going into a game against a Williamson County School it did not go well with the Patriots.

This is a semi-final match up, there will be no blowout but it will be a hard, hitting physical game that will be decided in the 4th. This game is a coin flip.

Some are more confident than others but make no mistake about it, this team has made huge strides since playing Brentwood. Like I said earlier there is a LOT of people out there saying Summit wins. And some say Summit wins in a blowout. One thing about it though the Big Red WILL be ready to play! Going to be awful tough to go on the road and beat Beech and Henry County in back to back weeks.

I'd be shocked if they held Summit to 17 points; I'm not sure they can hold them to 34.

Both teams will get theirs. The key to the game in my opinion if we can control the clock and time of possession. This game could be like a Beech/Henry County game in the fact that it could be a somewhat lower scoring game. (Low 20s) We don't have to worry about putting up 50 points anymore. It's just survive and advance. We need a long drive that eats up lots of clock. (Similar to what happened in last weeks 1st quarter with NE)

In the newspaper article on the game, it said he most likely was going to play. It said that’s why his brother wanted to win so bad, so he they could play together in the semis.

Oh wow. If he does play he would possibly be a game changer if he is anywhere close to healthy. Either way though we will line up and see what happens. One game to have a shot at a gold ball. I will take it!

The Summit QB is a beast. Even if the other brother doesn't play it will take a great effort from the HC defense to slow him down.

That said, our defense has been rolling since they got humbled by Brentwood. I think it'll be a dang good game.

Absolutely! It will take a big time effort from our defense but the same can be said for Summits defense against our offense! I'm just excited to see two excellent teams go to war this Friday night. This is what high school football is all about!!!!!!

This game and atmosphere will be electric. Even though I have no dog in the fight, I might have to try and make this one. Hard to predict this one, it’s a toss up but HC is at home.

It will be amazing. Summit has some ballers for sure. If anybody can beat Summit I truly believe this Henry County team can. I don't think Wade will run around freely like he did against Beech. Time will tell i guess.
