Last question and I am done on here. Will we have a coach before school let’s out for the summer? 

You seem to have an idea of what is going on. Did all coaches that were interviewed turn it down, or were they just not happy with the candidates. The people I have talked to said there were a couple good candidates who didn’t even get a call. I would hope that is not true!

Just had a friend call and say the job was reposted. Everyone turned us down. Not a good job for current coaches, coaching elsewhere. Coach Johnson might be the next coach if that is the case.

I think Coach Johnson would do a good job as well. Will he do both? Is he the only option at this point? Is there any candidates outside the school who are still interested or haven’t turned us down yet?

Would you mind elaborating on who some of those names might be. I am incredibly worried at this point. I have talked to several other parents who are as well.

I wouldn’t deny you are closer than most people. However, if you think girls that care about basketball are staying here when clearly our school doesn’t care about Girls basketball you are crazy. If they can’t find a coach that’s one thing, but a previous post suggests many people have interviewed. If that’s the case I would hope they didn’t get turned down by 10+ people. That would be even worse.

You make some good points here. I don’t think it matters at this point. I know many girls who are basketball players that are already leaving school. I have heard they may have found the coach, but if rumors are true, these girls will not be staying at DCA with that hire. Good luck to the Cats in the future.

The month of May will be here in 2 days. One thing remains the same. We still have no coach. What is the hold up? Did every one turn us down? Have we already hired someone in house, and are waiting to announce it? I know previous years both our boys and girls have did some type of camps where they play summer games. Is this eliminated now with such a late hire?

I have heard this from many people. I am pretty confident we interviewed someone over there. Is that false info?

Just heard they did interview someone from Good Pasture. Not sure if it was her or not.

Who knows. It would not surprise me if Coach Winfree is back on the side lines next season.

Sounds like it is our only option at this point. Playerscoach mention this earlier. I guess he has a inside source. The question is, does she take it? If so, how many current players/parents will be ok with the hire.

Truth to the rumor we have finally offered someone?

Can’t believe we haven’t made a hire and we’re in April. I could be wrong but I thought they knew they would need a coach before the season? A lot of frustrated parents in my daughters grade. Several of them looking to go else where. I hope a hire is made soon.

My daughter got a text saying there was a young guy that came in dressed up after school yesterday with Coach Goodwin and the Principal. I know there are multiple job openings but wasn’t sure if this was a basketball interview or not. Anyone have any info?

Who would you consider to be a home run hire? If you list names can you tell me where they are currently coaching, unless it’s someone in house. Thanks Playerscoach.

I have heard that also. There are several parents here who would leave I’m afraid. I personally do not have a problem with her. Don’t know why she would leave for Good Pasture if she wanted this job this year. Both of Good Pasture’s basketball teams seem to be in great place so it would make sense why they would go in that direction. They seem to have an understanding over there how to have great basketball programs. Has she interviewed? What about the guy from Chattanooga?

I’m assuming that since this name is out the interview process has started. Any of the previous mentioned names get an interview? Anyone else not mentioned yet?

Do you see anyone that SS listed above getting a shot at it? I think we are losing a lot with 3 seniors leaving and only have 7 on the roster this season to begin with.

Smoke, not sure who the first person you referenced is. The others are in house people I believe. Sounds like if true the chances of an in house hire are high. What are you hearing PC?

Have not heard of any specific names. Hearing there might be interest in the building? His daughter is an assistant, would not be surprised to see it be passed down to her if she is interested.
