  1. Scares me to think our kicker is the difference maker. We can successfully kick touchbacks but I am concerned if we are relying on field goals. We will need to plug holes off tackle and figure out how to stop that part of the running game. Our MLB is getting back to normal but and if we play the correct OLBs, we can will be okay. Missing the DEs are going to hurt us.
  2. FV will continue to struggle with two starters on D still out from injuries. Next man up needs to step up big on Friday. I see flashes of improvement but I agree with Swarm...the inconsistency with the penalties has me worried. Offense seems to be clicking a bit better now. Starting to see the QB and receivers getting on the same page.
  3. I will comment on the Fairview\Greenbrier game. GB may have some pep in their step but they won't score 21 points. I'm expecting a lopsided victory even with the continued losses to some key players for FV.
  4. It was good to establish the run game last night. It shows our kids and coaches if we stick to power football, we can be successful. Running the same play over and over and having success had to be a boost for the team. Nothing against passing, but I don't think its our game. Use it just enough to enough to keep the field open. OLine did a great job last night! The negative: The penalties need to come with a consequence. We simply can't allow these kids to make these mistakes without them coming off the field for at least a play. What are they learning? I see this each and every week. Fans scream at the refs for making bad calls. But...are we the team that has no discipline and refs call us out for it? I'd love to see the stats last night. Maybe 200 yards in penalties.
  5. I'm expecting about the same. I can't imagine they have a lot speed but quickness has been hurting us. We seem to be slow off the OL and not getting the correct blocks.
  6. Based on the conversations around this region, this game is very pivotal in deciding playoff placings. Thoughts on this game?
  7. It was a good game. Tough gritty football in the trenches. I'll say this one time and not offend anyone. I do feel FV was out coached tonight. Waverly's game plan was spot on. They keyed on our typical guys and we played a typical game. We did manage to find some strength in our passing game, but quickly went away from it. From what I am hearing, FV is down some kids after this game.
  8. I think the OL is getting better to allow the QB more time to make the right read. Just need to hold on to the ball and know when a sack is the best play to be made.
  9. Playbook is starting to open allowing more players to become a threat. This will take pressure off 22. The key is turnovers for the offense. Not sure why we are coughing it up this year. FV's defense is starting to come together as coaches are finding the personnel for each position. Love seeing this junior heavy class playing all over the field.
  10. Wrap this up. CCCHS was much quicker than I had thought. I do think they will give some other teams in the region fits. Still not sure why 88 is not worked in the offense. When your best athlete and player is not in the game to score, it makes me wonder. Refs were very bad and way too chippy of a game. The nearly got out of control. Stripes need to be better at the job.
  11. I really don't see that CCCHS scores more than once when varsity is in. If they do, it will be with that TE.
  12. I think Fairview by three scores. Too much speed on both sides of the ball. We do have liabilities on both sides as well but i don't see CC having an answer for the speed.
  13. Will be a good game. One FV coach is an alumni of CCCHS and another FV coach was recruited by CCCHS to lead their football program but turned it down.
  14. Will be good to see how Camden does against the speed at Creekwood. That Stansberry kid has always had legs.
