  1. Any news? I'm wondering if we'll ever make a hire.
  2. I have been a supporter for a long time now at Lincoln County. David O'Connor is not as big of a name around Lincoln County as you think. He took the job several years back and then tucked tail and ran when Fayetteville opened up their high school against voters wishes. What has changed since the last time he took the job? He would definitely win...but would most likely get Lincoln County in trouble before he even won his first game! I could get behind O'Connor if he did it the right way. Has he applied? Have interviews started? Time is ticking by and nobody in town knows anything.
  3. I agree that LC will never achieve multiple state championships anytime soon. Not sure it really matters about where the coach comes from. Volfan123 is right that the key to success for LC is keeping younger kids engaged and getting kids walking the halls to play. Any coach (experience or young assistant) can do that! Community support is also key to success. The community needs to get behind anybody that is hired.
  4. I have watched Falcon football for many years now. What disappoints me is the amount of people in this community that believe that we still live in the 80's and 90's and will win another State Championship in the next couple of years. At some point the entire community has to come to a realization those days are gone. The community needs to get completely behind whoever is named the next head coach. I just want someone who can will create a team the community can get behind...that doesn't have to translate to a state championship. The numbers are low, the strength looks below average, and the passion is lacking. Get someone who the kids will buy into and fight the whole game. I don't care where the coach comes from. I for one will support whoever it is.
  5. I'm assuming TSSAA does mostly the "honor system" in regards to transfers? No wonder the kid could be ruled eligible and then once someone calls them out for breaking the rule the TSSAA does an investigation! I just figured the TSSAA was a large enough organization that it would investigate all transfers to make sure nobody is breaking the rules....My mistake there!
  6. There are lots of rumors and opinions out there...Everyone is entitled to their opinions. There are a ton of different school systems that require different bylaws to apply as fairly as possible. I could care less either way if Fayetteville specifically gets in or is booted out. From this point it looks like both sides were wrong to a certain degree. I hate it for the players, but unfortunately in high school sports in the day and age players are subject to adults making bad decisions or not following the rules. I don't know who is wrong here, but rules are set up to keep order...everyone must follow those rules. Teams/schools get in trouble yearly for breaking rules and Fayetteville is no exception. Doesn't matter the situation or record. They could be #1 team in the U.S., but if they broke a rule or didn't follow TSSAA bylaws they are subject to consequences. It happens! Get over it and move on and let the teams that followed the rules or knew the rules get their shot!
