    FRA|Ezell

OnlineLC: I know the Smiths. No way would Scott tank a game to help FRA. No way in the world. So be careful of the accusations that you make. If anything, I bet he would like to rub it in a little.... Scott will likely try to get the team in high gear for the playoffs.

The concession stand was pretty good last time I went there. The burgers were made on a charcoal grill...mmmmm tasty!! Evergreen has a seafood buffet with all you can eat crab legs. Also, my favorite restaurant in the whole world is Casa Fiesta right next to Home Depot in Antioch. The fajitas are fantastic. I have probably gone there 75 times over the past 8 years....great portions, consistently good food every time with outstanding service. That is the best kept secret in Antioch. THis place is way better than the place at Nippers Corner......no contest. [Edited by wizard on 10-30-02 9:58A]
  3. Update: Word is that the beefy boys will be at Burger King consuming as many double woppers as concievably possible.

    1a playoffs

What is this Landers smack talk already? You guys may be able to play in a muddy pig pen but your team is not built for the astroturf in the boro. By the way, this is the kind of smack talk that Landers' fans regretted last year. Lesson for Landers fans: 1) first win the big game, then 2) brag all you want.
  5. Who will Ezell face in the first round of the playoffs? Do we know that yet? With only 2 weeks to go, we should be able to narrow that down. I just don't know how the regions get matched..... HELP!!!
  6. Does anyone have an Ezell Harding vs. Jo Burns score?
  7. I heard a rumor that A.J. Blackburn was a guest of Vanderbilt this Saturday at the Vandy-MTSU game...... Does anyone know if this is true? Is AJ strongly considering Vanderbilt?
  8. Come out and buy a nice tee shirt. You will feel better about yourself and meet some nice people.
  9. Hey Curlee! I think the craft sale is from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. (Saturday, October 12) So don't get there too late!!!! Thanks FRADad for the compliment on the new brick entrance and fence. I would agree that it looks really nice [Edited by wizard on 10-11-02 3:23P]
  10. To all Ezell Harding Fans: Tomorrow is the annual fall craft sale at Ezell Harding. I was just over there and took a peak inside the gym. They have some very nice shirts (polos, tees, etc). Several shirts have embroidering in the form of "Ezell Harding", "EH" logo, Ezell football helmets, or eagles. Very nice stuff!!! If you want to show your support for the school, tomorrow is your best opportunity to buy a nice shirt, license plate, hat, etc. [Edited by wizard on 10-11-02 1:08P]
  11. Congratulations Kyle Todd!!!! You have made some great plays this year. On one tackle, I think that you knocked the taste out of the other players mouth. Now that is a good tackle!!!! You are also chewing up big yards on the screen play. I hope to see that play a few more times this year. Good luck Ezell Harding!!!!!!!!!
  12. I definitely respect USJ. I think they share the top two spots with Ezell. Beleive me, after I saw them play Ezell in the playoffs, I knew they had a good program. Ezell was lucky to win that game. (Yes, I am an Ezell fan.) USJ and CPA scare me the most from here on out.

    Boyd-Ezell score?

I thought this game was going to be a lot closer at the beginning. In fact, after the blocked punt - Td, I was worried. However, it became clear that Boyd's players just couldn't hang with us. Our team is playing well and the coach is just fantastic. What happened with Kyle Todd at the beginning of the game right after the blocked punt? Something happened away from the play. I looked to the right and saw Kyle Todd trying to help the Boyd kid up who was down on the ground. Then the Boyd fans were booing and the Boyd coaches were hollering "That's cheap." Apparently Todd put a nasty hit on the Boyd kid (but I am not sure). I don't think K. Todd tried to hurt him. A few minutes later, Burney was getting into it with the Boyd sideline and refs. I was thinking, "Oh know, here we go." But after the timeout, the coach got everyone settled down. I was thinking that the boyd sideline may have been giving Burney a lot of grief for the K. Todd tackle/hit. I am glad that our guys have passion about the game though.
  14. CoachHard's posting rules. 1) do no boast about your team 2) do not complain about your team 3) do not make an negative comments about the opposing team 4) do not predict that your team will win 5) do not point out any players that are stars....only mention the team since we should "cease to exist as individuals." 6) never question the player's attitudes, coaching, or end result. Be happy. 7) other than this, enjoy CoachT's board. [Edited by wizard on 9-3-02 2:14P]
  15. CoachHard: It is called a commitment to excellence. Maybe you have never heard of this. I never get too complacent about anything. Last year's success is history. Our team is good and we have the talent and coaching to become excellent. I was merely asking a couple of questions: 1) Is there a reason that Kyle Todd is not running with the ball? Maybe there is. 2) Why was Antione Owens shoving David Dungan after a busted play? CoachHard, your favorite quote says "Cease to exist as an individual." Well, this was not an example of ceasing to exist as an individual. If we as fans cannot post questions and comments, then why is this board so popular? I cannot understand your post. When I get on the board and boast about how good the team is, people complain that I am not demonstrating humility. If I get on the board and say the team needs to work harder, I get perplexing responses like yours. Well, what am I supposed to post on here? Will this work for you? "I hope that our team is complacent. I hope they do a mediocre job."
  16. I vote for AJ Blackburn. This kid is consistantly getting open deep and snagging passes. Some of them have been jump balls, AJ has good vertical leap. I haven't seen him drop one yet.

    CPA-Ezell

I have to tell you that I am nervous about this one. I know that CPA's coaches are pretty clever. I am sure they will cook something up to neutralize our advantages. So Ezell players, let's stay focused and execute on Friday.
  18. I was at the Upperman game the other night. I would like to share a couple of thoughts. 1) Yes, the margin of victory against an average team seemed to disguise the fact that we were pretty one dimensional. 2) What the heck is wrong with Antione Owens? He had better get his act together. He got mad at one of our linemen for presumably missing a block. Antione showed me nothing all night long except for a bad attitude. We don't need that at Ezell. Trust me on that one. 3) Why are we NOT handing off to speedy Kyle Todd? This kid can put some points on the board for us. 4) Positively speaking, Schlappi looks great and the Freshman QB (Huff, I think) was very impressive too. Blackburn is a wonderful athlete and perhaps the star on our team. (Keep it up AJ and thanks for your contribution.) Also, we had nice interception at the end of the game. I didn't catch the player's name though. Eagles, you had better crank it up a notch. CPA will be ready for us. We need to get better quick. Don't take any team for granted. PS: Upperman-you were classy fans and good sports. You had us rocking a bit on those early drives. Keep working hard. [Edited by wizard on 9-2-02 12:10A] [Edited by wizard on 9-2-02 12:13A]
  19. It is not that the rebel flag really stands for slavery. However, I think some racists intentially use the flag to intimidate African Americans. That is just not right. So if someone likes the flag because they are truly proud of their heritage, I am okay with that. (However, I wonder how many rebel flag wavers could accurately describe the history of the Confederacy and the Civil War.) If someone is just trying to intimidate another race, that is just morally wrong. [Edited by wizard on 8-30-02 12:59P]
  20. Thelma, I'll say this. You are a good sport. Don't take anything I write personally. I just try to evoke responses sometimes by writing controversial things. I don't really believe everything I say. It is mostly claptrap. I am the "Michael Savage" of football chat. Tackle, good post. Thanks for keeping things in perspective. I should have noticed that my "Good Post to Post" ratio is a little low (1:176). I guess I need to work on that. Enjoy the games this evening, football fans. 21. Chakra: I hope to be at the game. I guess I should lighten up on the rhetoric...... But I have so much fun concocting these posts!!!! What am I to do?
  22. Good points, Tackle and Chakra. I am sure you are clever enough to know that most of what I write is 'tongue in cheek.' I guess I like to rattle people a little bit.....and defend the school against an all out assault by the anti-private gang. I may not be helping, though. I have the utmost respect for what Scott Smith has done. He is the real deal. Your points are well taken. Good luck this evening Ezell!
  23. This is how I spell recruit: A-C-A-D-E-M-I-C-S ACT Score: 34 out of 36 and Presidential College Scholarship (1 former Ezell athlete) Full Athletic Scholarships to Vanderbilt (2 former Ezell athletes) (Vandy is consistently ranked among the top 20 colleges nationwide in terms of high academic standards.) These are the facts. Other private schools in Nashville have equally impressive results.
  24. Dear Coach Scott Smith, I wish you all the best of luck this fall along with the Eagles. I know you have the ingenuity to take this team very far. Do not succumb to the pressure of lesser talented coaches or misinformed chatroom-yackers. If you must practice a two-point conversion during the game, make no apologies. If you must leave a player in a little longer to break a state record, do so. Keep in mind that past record breakers did not pull themselves out of the game and feel guilty prior to setting their records. You and your players should not either. Scott, this is your ticket to the college game. Honestly, I would love to see you stay at Ezell Harding for selfish reasons. But you are ready for the next level. Do no let the wannabes question your tactics or strategy. First Offensive Play of the Game vs. Upperman: AJ Blackburn streaks (in uniform) down the right sideline. (During this time, Upperman's secondary will be picking up their athletic supporters.) AJ will then snag a long pass from Schlappi and dance into the endzone. The faithful will start singing "Roll Out the Barrel." Okay, so maybe the part about "Roll Out the Barrel" won't happen. I hope the rest does. See you on Friday evening at the game, Wizard
  25. I forgot to mention that we are the winners in this local sports coverage battle.
