  1. Maybe I am wrong but didn't the game day guidelines come from TSSAA working with the Governor's office.
  2. What do you think Sumner County will do if they are forced to go online? Continue with football or shut it down. Not being a pain but generally curious to peoples take on the subject.
  3. You seem pretty knowledgable about your school system. What do you think your school system would do? Just curious.
  4. I agree that the TSSAA said that. I am asking about an individual school systems decision. For example If Wilson county has to close and go online because of covid for a period of time once full contact football starts will the school district allow the team to keep practicing and playing even though they are online? I have not heard any school system address this.
  5. Serious question. Let's say that the governor allows teams to start full pad contact practice but a school system goes online because of a high number of covid cases for 4 weeks. Do you think that school will allow football to still practice and play even though school is virtual? Would that end their season? Has any school addressed this system?
  6. The TSSAA has a plan now. The pressure now rest solely of the governor and his staff to decide if and when football starts. If the governor eventually says yes then the pressure moves to the individual school directors and school boards
  7. I think kids have to sign their own waivers in Tennessee. Blackwell v. Skyhigh Sports Nashville, LLC (TN CT. APP. 2017)
  8. Tom Kreager on twitter. Did not say what meeting was about. Could be this season pland or could just be a litigation update from the current pending lawsuits.
  9. Looks like we might get some new information next week. TSSAA executive meeting on Monday with attorneys. Attorney client privilege is in play so it will not be open to public or be broadcast.
  10. Tssaa executive meeting with attorneys on Monday. attorney client privilege applies. Not open to the public.
  11. 4 days later andd still do not have an official "you are good to start order".
  12. I know some of you think the fall season will be or should be played but if the "fall season" is cancelled and TSSAA adopts the Virginia plan would you support it? Would you let your son play a shortened "spring season". Keep in mind the Virginia plan allows for all three seasons but obviously shortens each one.
  13. This is the problem with a regular start time. Some local districts are not going to want to start tackle football when cases are going up. Those local districts might might be more than happy to hold starting practice until August 31st in hopes of cases going down. I think that you might see some districts balk at a normal start time and cancel out of fear/concern. An abbreviated season might be a compromise that helps local districts feel more at ease with giving the go ahead to start actual football. Remember that just because the Governor and the TSSAA say you can play football the final decision lies with the individual school districts and just like Governor Lee's decision and the TSSSA's decisions are being driven by liability concerns so will local districts. Lower case numbers, hospitalization numbers and deaths would help ease those concerns. *Please keep your political opinions out of this.
  14. I wish that there was a way to keep the conversation about high school athletics. The politics, conspiracy theories, media good vs media bad, etc. is getting old. Maybe those of you that want to continue beating dead horses should just exchange emails and communicate that way.
