  1. Long touchdown run for the sophomore Adam Cooper. 17-6 purple tigers We have actually had some energy tonight.
  2. Touchdown catch before the half was called back and the field goal directly after goes off the post.
  3. Purple tigers get on the board first 7-0
  4. We switched in some new lineman this week and swapped our receivers hoping it would make a spark and it didn’t. We completely went away from the offense we were running during weeks 1-2. The defense is still playing outstanding and that is going to keep us in games until Cousino and the wrs can find any kind of connection.
  5. Great post. @PurpleReign has been a Webster hater since his son sat on the sidelines a few years ago. Sometimes you just have to take this forum with a grain of salt. Over the years we’ve won games by 50 and we’ve still had fans on here blasting the coaching staff. The talent we lost last year was irreplaceable and like I stated after the game last week it is going to take a few games to get it together for all the guys who have stepped into new roles. Coaching is not the issue. The boys are young and just aren’t getting it done yet. The sophomore class is absolutely loaded and has a real opportunity to be the best class ever at the school if they stick together.
  6. They literally changed everything from the week before. Do you even pay attention?
  7. Don’t pay attention to purple reign. He obviously has a problem with Webster.
  8. Like the others said, they are traditionally bigger and more physical than us up front.
  9. Players are there but they are sophomores. We have outstanding young men on this team but if we want to have a productive season we have to find some nasty in us. If we aren’t tough enough to beat Gordy we are far from tough enough to compete with TC. I think we were in the redzone 3 times and each drive either got killed by penalties or a big loss. That just can’t happen.
  10. I agree. Cousino was running for his life the whole night and Watts is a great receiver but he is not a deep threat.
  11. I disagree with the post but when you score 9 points you are going to take this type of criticism. I just don’t think Webster deserves the disrespect in that post. Defense was outstanding and the offense needs some work. It’s a completely new roster offensively besides Cousino and It’s a completely new scheme. I don’t see this team being able to find many points this year. Even if the scheme was perfect this team doesn’t have anyone stepping up right now to execute it. This team reminds me of the 17’ team that started off 1-2. The difference in that season was that Heath price stepped up and we managed a 9-3 record. Obviously this team doesn’t have Heath Price but I foresee this team having a similar year if someone can rise to the occasion.
  12. I agree that going under center could be beneficial for this team. What we have ran the past two weeks is fairly similar to the wing T and It could allow for more misdirection if we went to under center. I am just worried about how that would limit our RPO game. I also meant to add that it is very difficult to run the wing T when you don’t have any wings. They struggled to block all night. This team is young and doesn’t have the skill to run the spread or the line to run the wing T. It could be a long long year.
  13. One thing I noticed last night is that we were not able to spread the field with screens like we have in years past. Gordy realized we don’t have anyone who can go over the top and make a play so they pressed and stopped everything short. I was thinking the same thing because Cousino threw the slant great last year. But with us not having a deep threat it really limits what we can do in the short game and in general.
  14. The Robertson kid had 16 tackles last week and played hard again this week. He’s probably our toughest player and it’s not close.
  15. For the most part it is the wing T but in shotgun. Maybe you are saying it would benefit the team to move to under center?
  16. Maybe we just aren’t anywhere near as good as we’ve been the past few years. It’s difficult to be “innovative” when there isn’t any time for the QB to do anything. Last night was a product of no one on the field ever having a vital workload. Cousino has never had the workload he did last night. He was the primary ball carrier. Just give them a little time.
  17. Me as well. I asked a few guys tonight and I think they said he missed a lot of practice due to contact tracing last week and some this week. Don’t take my word for it though. He may be the best out of the sophomore class but in due time.
  18. Our defense was outstanding besides 2 plays tonight. The blown coverage for the touchdown and the missed sack in the 4th quarter that turned into a first down and huge play. Those were the only 2 plays Gordy had all tonight. The fumble on the punt was an awful way to start the game and we never did anything offensively to make up for it. Hats off to Gordy. This team has to find something and at this point I have no idea what it is.
  19. Sophomore class is extremely good. #6 and #12 are obviously two of our best players and we have a few more that will contribute more by the end of the year.
  20. Your best chance to get a win is tomorrow night. I’m telling you this sophomore class is on a different level and could be the best class H2o has ever seen. If you guys don’t win tomorrow you are liable to drop 10 straight to us.
  21. I wouldn’t say they don’t care. That just seems like an excuse in case y’all lose. I was just saying If you guys want to keep up with upperman y’all are going to need to utilize the passing game. If Calhoun can do what he did the last drive consistently you all will have a quality offense and therefore a quality team. Do you guys believe he can? I haven’t seen enough of him to have my own opinion.
  22. This is nonsense because not a single person in this thread said FC would beat cookeville. If cookeville is that much better than FC as u say they are I would think they wouldn’t have gotten beat as bad as they did last week. What point are you trying to make? I am sure you know absolutely nothing about either program and are just trying to make Upperman sound better than they actually are.
  23. I would say so. But we will know for sure by week 6.
  24. Last week I assumed we would make the drive down to Fayetteville just to get mercy ruled but our boys fought hard and even though the score was 42-20 if 2-3 plays end differently we had a very good chance at winning that game. They were by no mistake the best team we will face this season playoffs included. I know we have a few starters out but I think we found our tailback last week and if we get a few things straightened out defensively we could be a heck of a lot better than a lot of us previously believed. I’m taking h2o by a score because it’s been six years since weve lost to Gordy and I don’t see them getting redemption for another 3-4 years. That’s if they even continue to play us lol
