Congrats to Becky. She will do a wonderful job there. Not only is Becky a wonderful player she is also a wonderful person. She gives back to her community every summer by having a basketball camp with former Hickman CO player and Head Boys coach at Marshall Co. , Jeremy Qualls. Eventhough she is very busy with her new job, she is still having the camp this july. Everyone in Hickman Co is proud of you and wish you the best of luck.

I UNDERSTAND FAIRVIEW HAS BATTLED THE FLU AND ONLY HAS TEN PLAYERS BUT THAT IS AN EXCUSE. MARSHALL COUNTY HAD TWO GIRLS WITH THE FLU AND ONLY DRESSED 9 PLAYERS. MARSHALL COUNTY HAS ALSO LOST 2 GIRLS TO ACL INJURIES INCLUDING TRACI MOORE WHO WOULD HAVE BEEN ONE OF THE VERY TOP PLAYERS IN THE DISTRICT. MARSHALL COUNTY HAS TAKEN THEIR LOSSES BUT BAVE CONTINUED TO IMPROVE. FAIRVIEW IS A GOOD TEAM BUT THE TEAM THAT PLAYED THE BEST ON THAT NIGHT WON THE GAME.

region 5-Giles is still the team to beat. They have battled injuries all year and have played a tough scheule(Lawrence county twice, Page twice, Oliver Springs, Coffee County twice,several other AAA games) They have been to the dance three straight years and should go again after winning the region. They need to get their injuries under control before tournaments. Page is very strong and should come out of the region. If they can defeat Giles again and play the sub state at home they will go to Murfreesboro. The loser of this region will have a hard time defeating Chester County at home but could do it.

Marshall County Girls won there second game of the year pulling the upset 47-40 I believe. The score may be wrong but the winner is correct. I was at the game. Marshall County won with patient ball control offense only shooting 29 times for the game and with great half court defense.

Marshall County girls have a super tradition over the last 30+ years. They have made 18 State tournament appearances and won three state championships. They are down this year but will be back. Marshall County boys have built a tradition of their own the last 5 years with 3 state tournament appearances including a runner up last year.
