  1. They blame the Gville game on the lack of eligible transfers. I do wonder about the huntland playoff game though
  2. There’s nothing wrong with your opinion because well, it’s your opinion. But I think the one thing you over overlooking is the fact that the most points SP has given up was 28 after 3 weeks off and that was to Meigs County who could very well win the 2A championship. And I’m willing to bet a lot of money they Fayetteville doesn’t have a better offense than Meigs County. They may, but I highly doubt it.
  3. I think we were the better team last year, but I think their 1 or 2 big weapons were better than our 1 or 2 big weapons if that makes sense. And their 1-2 big weapons made more big plays than ours did in the end
  4. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case. Good luck to you guys too
  5. He was. Very tough Yes I am. I’m not saying we should have beat meigs because they are a great team, but without the 3 weeks off before that, we coulda came out better from the jump and not just the second half. I hope it’s easy at state but who knows.
  6. Yeah they were good. Zeman was strong and the line was big but like you said, they lacked any speed at all. They just beat us because we were small and had like 20 players back in those couple of years. Tough time to be a pirate lol
  7. That was when we were going through a rough patch where coach Moore straight wasn’t good and no one wanted to Play for us and we finished like 5-6 or 6-5. They beat us pretty good and so it was great to see them get smacked in state every year. As cool as it is to get there and play, not much of it matter if you can’t win and they got smacked 3 years in a row.
  8. I think the talent gap is more so on defense for either team. Both offenses are high powered but SP just has a better defense. Not to say Fayetteville doesn’t have a good defense but many would agree that the big talent gap is between the SP defense and the FC defense
  9. I wasn’t on here then but what makes that really funny is the MC vandalized their own school property just to get hyped for a game and they have the audacity to call anyone a thug.
  10. Is it snowing down there? That’s crazy. I live in New York and it’s not even snowing up here
  11. From watching both teams play, I think we can score more if it ended up being a shootout. I think we could get the 1-2 extra stops easier than they could.
  12. Thanks! I’ve been reading for a couple years and just never created an account to post. I plan on being here for a long time, as long as the good Lord lets me. You’re right, I’m very cocky and I really should calm down but it is very hard lol. I respect Fayetteville but I also know what this team is capable of. Finally a game that Hunter and Gio and the rest of the starters get to play all of. It’s exciting for sure and I can be really quick to get ahead of myself, it’s gotten me before but I don’t see it happening this time.
  13. Ofc I’m a younger poster in here. Fairly new to posting and one thing I’ve noticed is that everyone has a different style. Some are cautious and some are fiery. I am definitely fiery. I am cocky, and I’m not afraid to say it. You can be when you are a fan of such a storied program. With that being said, I shouldn’t attack people’s ways of looking at the game. However, I do not understand why everyone was so confident in the coalfield game and not as much so this week? Our team didn’t change, in fact they’ll only get better with a week of practice. Fayetteville is good but as a fan I always believe that we can win big
  14. I never said Fayetteville wasn’t good. I said we’re better and there is lots of doubt in this thread. The players deserve to see that their fans have pride in them. Otherwise they are guaranteed to lose. If they read these things, I don’t want them seeing doubt. Coach Grider, Waggoner and the whole crew are gonna tell them all week it’s gonna be a dog fight. I don’t think the fans should also be the ones to tell them what they should and shouldn’t do to do good. I think they wanna see the fans be supportive and show the pride they have in the school. So that’s what I’m doing.
  15. My biggest problem is why sit back now. I go back and read past threads and there was no lack of people guaranteeing wins. Blowout wins. And here comes state and it’s like no one is confident anymore. So many people were confident about last week, but the senior class had never won a semi game before. So many were confident about gordonsville but this senior class got beat in the quarters in 2018. So why the lack of confidence now?
  16. Those teams themselves got too cocky. They went in not trying. That 2011 game especially. So many mistakes. They went out and immediately didn’t seem like the heart was all there. 2013 as well, coach Moore really wasn’t a leader and the team struggled with leadership. They got flat outplayed. They may have had all the heart in the world but from the tv screen and being in the stands those 2 years, it didn’t seem like it.
  17. Very true. If Ganaway, Meadows and Frame all played the whole game every game they’d all have 3000 and 50.
  18. That whitwell team wasn’t gonna lose. This is a stretch but they may have won a couple other classifications that year. Probably not but I’d love to see it. That team was out to kill and they weren’t settling for anything less
  19. I want Fayetteville fans to do the same. I want them to say they are gonna win big. It shows school pride. It shows pride in your team.
  20. Then don’t hype up any other game. It’s embarrassing when the state championship gets the least hype and the most doubts. I’ve never seen an Alabama or Clemson fan scared of the national championship. They always assume they are gonna win big. Whether it happens or not is a different story. Yeah I’m new, I’m new to posting. I’ve read the threads for a long time now and decided to hop in the action. I’ve played in big games myself, and no player goes into it scared or worried or frightened. They all assume they are gonna win big, at least I did. Fans need to do the same. Players feed off of fans. Multiple players have texted me saying that they know it’s limited seating and it’s a big stadium but they need us to be there and be loud as ever because they thrive off of it. I’m gonna be the first one to be cocky, and the last to apologize for it. Fans should be. Fans should always say their team is gonna kill the other team, even if it doesn’t happen. You don’t look stupid, you look like a fan.
  21. I’m agitated at the fact that all season it was “SP is gonna kill this team.” “SP is the best team in the state and this game won’t be close” and into the playoffs it was “SP is gonna kill Jo Byrns, they’ll beat up on Monterrey, they’ll go to gordonsville and win big, coalfield can’t handle SP.” and then the championship comes around and it’s like “well see I’m not sure about this one, it seems pretty darn even, SP is fast but Fayetteville may be able to match the speed and size. It’s gonna be really really close.” I’m not saying it can’t be really close but it’s like everyone hops in a shell come championship game time. That’s when everyone should be the most excited about their team winning.
  22. Or maybe Will Meadows is just pretty dang good!
  23. Yeah I’d say so too. Just because we have a mr football finalist on the line backing core as well as an all state player and then our dline is just downright huge and quick. He’ll complete a few. I just don’t think it’ll be enough to make a difference, but who knows.
  24. Just cause you get open doesn’t mean your DBs suck. Just means they got open. This years DBs are bigger and stronger. Probably not faster. I’m personally hoping our dline doesn’t give the QB any time to Throw and gets him rattled early.
