  1. You could actually make that same argument with ER. Neither teams schedule looks that great record wise.
  2. If they play like they're capable absolutely
  3. They were extremely flat and talking to coaches afterwards and the next day they echoed that. That's been normal for this group though. They win some games just on talent. They better be up for this game or they will get run out of their own stadium.
  4. If ER has won like they have the past couple years with underclassmen that tells me that coaching is pretty good. Marion took their lumps last year with a ton of underclassmen and its paid off this season. I believe they return 16 or 17 starters next year with quite a few talented freshmen that got into some games during the season. Our kids know they have a tall task ahead and hopefully they play to their potential.
  5. I'm not sure I'd give the OL nod to Marion. As far as Groves I'd say from film he's faster than Pickett. Hopefully those teams on the schedule from the early part of the season helps prepare for East. Brainerd, Central, Tyner, etc.... are full of athletes that can break one on any given play.
  6. Yes. He took off on a run and a LB reached out and tripped him up or he probably would've scored. 9-0 and averaged over 40 pts a game. After that injury went 1-2 and shutout twice.
  7. Absolutely was until the qb got hurt final game of the season.
  8. That's a So Pitt fan saying that. I doubt he's seen Marion play.
  9. That's the same with Marion. Seems they play to the level of their competition a lot. When that switch flips they are pretty dynamic. Just haven't seen it a lot.
  10. Anyone has a chance on any given Friday. Tyner isn't a bad team. They should/could have beat the 3rd ranked 3A team last week. Dade is a pretty physical team and they play in a lot better region in GA than what 4 2A is. Fayetteville and Forrest are both good teams. Records don't reflect that a lot of times. I've said many times that Forrest played well enough to win their game with Marion. With that being said Marion did not play well that night. Starting RB being out didn't help but Rockets had a lot to do with that but it is what it is. A lot of people have based their upcoming games with Marion based off opponents records and how close they played Forrest and it hasn't ended well for them. But there's always an excuse. Maybe we can all win out and Forrest can settle a score with Fayetteville and the Warriors can play Forrest again. I'd say Warriors win by 3+ scores. Safe travels to the Eagles fans.
  11. You would have to be a big dude if you're looking in Truth's eyes.
  12. That's what I read/heard. I do believe he's back and if the players and coaches are ok with it then that's on them. Still have to remember you're dealing with kids and they will do stupid stuff just like adults will.
  13. My sentiment exactly. I have no problem with a kid wanting to move to a better situation. (If it's 2,3 or 4 times in his career I'd rather not invite that mentality into my locker room.) It's the parents making the final decision for their child anyway (well most of the time).
  14. Part of it. Lots of mad people when you don't win the last game you play.
  15. Did Big Joe get hurt last week? I'm assuming #75. I remember him and #77 both playing but didn't know if he came out late in the game. Huge kids
  16. May not, but then again Smith may not either.
  17. The first game of the season that they lost? Ok let's just say if Marion plays the way they did against Sequatchie in the 1st half it will be a running clock to start the 2nd half.
  18. Never mentioned a team. Freshman and sophomore class is deep at Marion as well. Incoming freshman class will be too. I think both Marion and SP benefit from transfers though ()
  19. I'm sure you've heard the rumored RB addition for next year. Should fill a departing seniors spot very well. Gonna be some mad folks when it happens. You think I'm joking but I'm not
  20. Talked to him after the game. He said he wanted to go back in but coaches said no. You could tell he was upset. Also talked to Lovvorn before and after the game. He had the same demeanor both conversations. You could tell he is a great kid just from a few minutes talking to him.
  21. I always pull for whatever region we are in but I do hope Forrest and Fayetteville can win and maybe they can play another great game.
  22. Saylors was a sophomore on that 2015 team and had a lot in front of him. Probably the best athlete to come through in a very long time (just wasn't utilized properly). Currently playing with the Atlanta Falcons.
