I doubt those applicants will fit with the teaching positions that will be available unless there is some turnover from the previous staff or the admin decides to move some pieces around to fit the puzzle of hiring a capable coach.

They don't wanna be great! I'm just trying to be like Mike!:roflol:

Never known Bearden to be serious about football, has always been more of a basketball school in my opinion. Being a long time West fan I liked Coach Cummings a lot but 6A is a different beast. It still bothers me that he left West after the 2014 season. Things didn't go great at Cleveland to say the least. The brain trust out on Kingston Pike will definitely want a "splashy" hire but is bad 6A head coaching experience better than no head coaching experience? Derek Hunt had never been an HC before, has done and will continue to do a great job. When Brian Nix inevitably takes over at Alcoa he will do a great job. Hard to understand what the folks running the show over there expect if they hire a Cummings or bring back a Brad Taylor. No one cares what an old West fan like me thinks but if what Shinlever has said is true and the program needs some fresh air why not go young?

Still sour about Scott leaving for the 6A big leagues. West fans are the worst! :roflol:

I like history. Can you quote your source on this one? I'd like to read more. Here are some stats from Blount County.

By 1860, slaves comprised 22% of Knoxville's population, which was higher than the percentage across East Tennessee (approximately 10%) but lower than the rest of the South (about one-third).

P.S. your antebellum era historical interpretation could be taken more seriously if your handle wasn’t  “red rebel”.

What ever happened to the fox on this thread.  the fox was just dead sure West was gonna lose this one.  Maybe the fox was just hopeful they would lose.

Sure did, thought they would pull it out in a close one. :roflol:

were you going to responsd the the fact that the best teams in Knox change almost every year?

Btw, I like the way you changed Gomer into a more French sounding name.

Let's go to Dead End. WAC will pick up the tab. :roflol:

Karns is 2nd in their 5a region on the back of Bishop.  Can't recall the last time they had a season like that.  Farragut won state in 2017?  and barely made post-season now.  Fulton had a good streak a few years ago, but they haven't done anything lately.  Has Powell ever won state?  West won it 15 years ago or something?  Let's think through what your saying and see if it alligns with reality.  Halls is playing better than they have in ages.  Central won two state championship, lost their head coach, and doesn't appear to be the same.  South Doyle made quarter-finals in 5a last year, dropped down to 4a this and finished 4th in their region.  If there were a vast conspiracy to cheat, wouldn't the same programs Keep winning every year?  In Knox County that doesn't happen.  You might be mad at Blount county here, but that of course is a different animal entirely.  And neither of those schools play 5a.

West won in 2014, no wonder you're not the AD anymore. :roflol:

When the Rivalry Thursday Schedule was released, I was surprised that this game was not selected to round out the regular season. Although these two schools have not had the most successful seasons, how could you minimize this storied rivalry in this fashion? The last time these two teams met in Week #11 (according to my research) was 1955. Both teams have had extremely tough roads to get where they are. Farragut has lost some close games (many by less than a TD) and Bearden has won a few very close games. I am wishing Packer would've picked this for the last game now. I love the Mountain Thicket and the ball game last night, but there are few rivalries in the state better than this one. Now, sitting here at Week #11, these teams are going to duke it out for a playoff spot. I am assuming this is for the three of four seed. If so, who do these teams matchup with?

I'm from Mount Juliet but retired here in 2010. Isn't the Bearden/Farragut game usually a good one? I watched the 2018 game on tv and the 2019 game live. They were classics. But MP thought the GP game was a good watch.:roflol:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.  Another idiot who has no concept of the decision for southerners to serve their home state militias and regiments.  Yeah, slavery was the primary reason for the civil war, but very few southerners were actually slave owners.  They were loyalists to their home states.

And East Tennessee, by the way was very overwhelmingly sympathetic to and served in the northern Army.

But let's not let factual information cloud your thinking that you have gotten something over on me.

In 1860 one in four people living in Knoxville were someone's property. Union friendly is a relative term in the gutbucket South. How bout your boys losing to the Irishman?:roflol:When you gone get a real ball coach and not a circus entertainer?

Nope.  Not quite that old.  An age joke.  Really original, by the way.

But I had ancestors who served with distinction on both sides.

You should change your name to Lieutenant Dan. :roflol:Is it possible to serve with distinction if you're committing treason?

I thought you did a good job here until you got away from the facts in your last paragraph.  Central QB has an 88 QBR.  West has 130+.  So your summary paragraph is devoid of truth except that West wideout has been out all season.

I thought I shared those numbers earlier in the thread.  I think the Alcoa QB may have the highest QBR around.  And the Sevier CO QB compares comparably to Wests.

Is that why it was such a close game? :roflol:

I went ahead and figured his QBR. It's 118.120.  I calculate Powell QB at 116.469 if M Ax  Pr  EPS is correct.  And I calculate the Central QB 88.062

You're really good with numbers. West gone get the beat down. :roflol:
