  1. Thank you H2O. My nosing around leads me to believe you are accurate with your assessment(s) here. TC with the rich history in football, maybe other sports average in the schools history. Gordonsville next in line when it comes to football when measuring with the "Championship Measuring Stick" with one in the 80's and again I believe in 2011 or 2012, with decent runs in between the two championship years and Watertown still seeking its first glass case hardware item made of GOLD. Academics of course is a staple for where ever we land. Adding a twist that you and others would be able to possibly shine some light on...Satterfield with the family coaching history looks to be a long term head coach if so desired at TC. GV's head coach sorry cant remember his name, from what I have only heard about, the job appears to be his till he wants to step down, and lastly Coach Webster at WHS, long tenured coach (thinking if my memory serves me right) started and is still with the first program he has ever been a head coach at. All this said, and I know a lot of moving parts here, but do any of these coaches get lured away from their respectful programs anytime soon? Trying to make sense of it all. Thanks
  2. Thanks for the insight...every bit helps weigh out for descision making time. Many thanks.
  3. Completley off topic, but since I see that breaking subject protocal is a norm on most of these threads, lets get some insight on more than "X's and O's" and add a little A-B-C's and 1-2-3's. Narrowing down the obvious top athletic teams between TC, WHS and Gordonsville, (Upperman and Dekalb- location doesnt fit) if you had a student athlete coming up, which "SCHOOL" do you send him to out of these three? Dig deep here. Which will provide a high quality of athletic acheivement opportunity along with solid educational acheivement? I have personally observed Gordonsville play, WHS play, have not watched TC play, but I have been to each school campus and community. Just trying to make some sense.
  4. I was very impressed with this team. Winning will help curve about anyone's opinion. Im not seeing all the "critics" out in full force trying to give their two cents about how they would have done things differently, how bad the Offense was called or anything like the first few games. I observed coaches coaching and players playing hard. I like that recipe. But what do I know, just trying to makesense.
  5. I was able to make it out to Watertown last Friday for the Dekalb game. I was surprised by the overall play from this WHS team. Reading and hearing all the past negatives, I felt like they played hard and beat a pretty good football team. Neither team looks like they will hang a GOLD BALL up in the school this year, but I was impressed with Watertown. As for WC, I know absolutley nothing about their program. Am I Making Sense here? Thoughts?
  6. Great point H2Oman, I had the opportunity to stop in back last spring, during baseball season. The campus was absolulty packed. From what I gathered, it was a day when basically all spring sports were slated for home play. Very impressive on how all the fans were packed in from baseball to track. It did show me how supportive the Watertown community is. Talked with an older gentlemen who was watching the baseball game, asked him if he had a player on the Watertown team (he was wearing a Purple Tigers shirt) kind of give it away. He just nodded NO and said he just likes to come up and support what ever program is playing, but he did like baseball more. It is easy to see why Watertown is excelling in ALL SPORTS, from the way the campus is kept up and how the community backs their home town sports/teams. Might get mauled, but I will say it anyways, Im excited to see how the football team responds as the season matures.
  7. I have researched this Watertown program and it does seem the talent has raised the bar, with experienced coaching to accomodate. Seems like success followed the new school/campus being erected. GREAT for a small community for sure. The rezoning I see really encompasses most of the eastern and south east parts of the county, which of course is mostly rural, but hey, Trousdale county I believe is the smallest county in the state. My overall concern isnt can you reload every year, because well your fighting against what you are handed in the way of enrollment. I really appreciate the open opinions that are more football related, instead of "we are not doing as well this season, so lets find an excuse" and "lets point a finger" at a coach(s) or player(s). You play with what you have simple as that. Disclaimer: Have to player develop yearly, cant sit on your hands.
  8. I looked it up on website...saying 20 to 21 Seniors. Would not think all of them contributed, but roster value.
  9. That's a fair and honest opinion. And definitely something to be hopeful for.
  10. New to the boards here. So, whats going on at WHS football? Coaching some say (but some of the coaching posts/references seem to come from disgruntle people-probably their kid is standing on the sidelines; or they had a player in the past that had limited PT) Either way...from what I hear Defense is still pretty darn good. Lets hear from some people with a football IQ, not a Saturday morning Quarter Back Club member. Lets hear what you have to say. Of course keep it clean...not looking to insult, but, I will have an investment in this program in about 3 years and would like to investigate. Never to early to investigate.
