Absolutely hurt us with him being hurt. I hope the surgery is a complete success and I will pray for the doctors, for Gray, and for his family. This rehab will test him mentally and physically, but he is a tough dude and there is no doubt he will be back stronger next year. But this is bigger than just one player. We've had some extremely talented young men come through the last 10-12 years and what to show for it? We have always been a successful team, but is it really a success if we have no hardware to show for it in those years? Croppy likes to argue (no disrespect croppy) that our success is what most teams strive for, and although I agree, it's not enough with the talent we've had. Sure, we won our region with out regular season game plan, but when all the other good teams change to their post-season game plan, we still stick to our regular season game plan and that will not be enough to win you those big games. I highly doubt I could be as successful as Swenson if I was the head coach, but at least I know when it's time to open up the playbook. I'm not necessarily calling for his head, because it could be a complete disaster when the time comes for him to move on, but I will criticize him for his short comings. I love football, this town, and this team! If I had to choose one level of football to watch for the rest of my life between high school, college, or pros, it would be under those Friday night lights every time! GO MUSTANGS!!

How are you so sure the talent at Huntingdon the past 10-12 years could win a state championship? What are the gauges being used to dictate these beliefs?

Congratulations to SP!  That defense was as advertised and the best one we have seen this year.  Offensively, having seen all three Mr. Football finalists up close, Farrior should have been on that list hands down!  Kid is a beast. I hope Wellington is ok.  Hated to see that young man go down.  But much respect that he got to take the final snaps.
@The Drunken Sailor Good to see you again my friend.

The coin toss…I had no idea! I did mention on our broadcast about the connection.  First class!!

And for those that want to bump their gums about us not being deserving of being there.  Where was your team sitting yesterday?  I read most of these post and will comment on those posts that are in good spirit or positive about either team.  I will not get into a pissing match with some clown that hides behind a keyboard who continues to try to belittle the accomplishments of kids or programs.  That is nonsense and not worth our time.

We will see you in August! Go Rebels!

Definitely not worth your time. You guys have a heck of a team. Those boys and the McK community will never forget the 3 straight championship appearances (and going to be a handful again next year)

ER last 3 games have been dominating wins against Marion, Smith, and York.  The latter of those the entire opponent's raison d etre was trying to snap a kids leg in half. They have grown up.

One thing in Panthers' favor...they were here last year.  But Indians will have best player.

Which team is faster.  Which team is tougher in trenches. That will be huge.

    Coaching..I'll give it to Riverside.

Players win games.  I'm betting on Groves.  It's the best and easiest argument for ER winning.

ER may have the best "athlete", but Riverside will have the best football player.. #25

  4. Gray Eubanks, QB, Class of 2025 - Huntingdon High School

Not too sure on his stats or even his true position, but he has started at QB for the Mustangs since he was a freshman. Any one he has played in these 3 years would attest to his skill set. Although he would fit into any team's offense, his toughness and athleticism is a perfect fit for Swenson's style of offense.

1A as usual. 2A is the weakest class in the state year after year. TN needs to go back to 3 classes..or 4 at the most.

That would mean TSSAA would be missing out on money. You already know the answer to this

  6. One thing that should scare me about Huntingdon is them coming out a little flat and allowing the other team to jump up on them early. But if you Mustang fans remember, this was the story last year as well. That is a sign of a veteran and mature team to not waiver and adjust. I’d rather not fall behind early, but if we ever do I always have faith in the veteran players and coaches to step up.

Well, if they had 4A students in the school they would be 4A. Remember they have to report enrollment numbers ever 2 years.

You’re missing the point. Yes, the town has a large population. However, due to a no-zoning rule in Obion County, they are able to dictate their numbers and allow/not allow students for certain reasons. If you don’t benefit the school academically or athletically than you are deferred to another school in the county. I thought this was common knowledge of UC!

UC, McKenzie, Moore Co, and MASE in no particular order.  I have to put Lake County in there as well just because they are traditionally strong on this side.  I will say Moore Co will be loaded next year coming from the other side.

McKenzie loss of 14 seniors and that line will be huge!  At QB, I am not concerned.  Tate Surber will step in and be as efficient as Cassidy was.  At tailback, it could be by committee.  Colt Norden, Brady Brewer, and a 10th grader Timmy Airline will see plenty of action.  The offensive and defensive .  We have some size, but they will need to grow up quick.  Defensively, lets make no mistake about it.  Losing Jackson Cassidy on that side of the ball is massive. Rebels may drop off some next year, but a really strong group of 8th graders coming in behind this bunch that will be freshman.  Keep the name Cole Brown in your mind for the next QB for McKenzie.  He will have two years to learn the ropes.

Is the Allison kid a senior? I envisioned him as the RB next yr
