Not a bad showing for Powell considering who they played. Actually showed a better run game then they did last year but that probably says more about where the Maryville defense is this year.

Looks like Powell is playing the sophomore kicker at quarterback . Won’t be surprised if he ends up Powell’s all time leading scorer by the time he is done.

I’m excited to see how Powell does after last year. I think they had a better team last year and had a tough time at home against AC so it could go either way. I got Powell 45-28

I predict Rhea County/Powell to be top of the east. Henry County/Green Hill out of west. Think it will be power run Henry County vs air raid Powell for state.

Grace Christian got a post season ban around that time too lol. I’m hoping we can keep the Nolens in state but I like our chances for a repeat. Rhea county will be a lot tougher to stop. Henry county will be a another big o line team to look out for as well.

When I went to Powell back in 09-12 we actually lost a lot of talent we had in middle school to CAK,Grace,and Webb who went on to win some state titles. Gained some talent due to the rezoning of central/Powell but still had weak spots like this Powell team.

I think we all can agree the refs were pretty atrocious in this game. Just watched a replay and my word the calls and no calls for both sides I guess. Pages TD with :52 seconds left in the 4th major false start on #12 missed.

I read where Powell’s Cannon Lusby went to the last Powell state championship in 2011 remembers how heart broken everyone was. Ended up the leading tackler last night 10 years and 1 days from that game.

Powell had like 170 yards in penalty’s smh. Page like 60 yards. I agree on the recruiting people love to hate when another team is better.

Everybody brings up the Maryville and Catholic games. Not 5A just games to prepare for playoffs in my mind. If something bother you guys it’s good to just ignore it not stalk Potts dad on Twitter or hate on coaches in forums.

Yea I mean glad he cares about his son looks like he’s invested a lot of resources to help him improve his game. A lot of kids would love to have that. Football can be frustrating

I haven’t really paid attention to his Twitter lol. Happy for Powells “first state title”. Never been a powerhouse like Alcoa, Maryville, Central, Oak ridge,Catholic or even CAK. Even with the recruiting people think they have.

24-30 324 yard 4 TDs 0 ints -20 rushing yards though. Mostly from that one sack late 4th.

I think the refs have been lenient all year with them. Noticed they started cracking down on uniform violations couple weeks ago with Powell.
