  1. I couldn't make it to the game last night but my LC friends tell me Owens pitched another great game. That doesn't surprise me. I have watched her pitch a couple of times this year. There may be other pitchers in the state as good as her, but I don't think there are any better than her. Congrats to LC & Owens on another win. I am a Shelbyville fan but I will be pulling for you in the state. A bright note for Shelbyville - my LC friends tell me Dye is as good or better than Owens was as a freshman. That gives us something to look forward to.
  2. At least now we know it's not arrogance.
  3. You obviously do not think the call was bad or you would not have posted this nonsense. It has already been established that the call was a bad one. The Coffee County coach, when asked about the call, said she was out. He was coaching third, standing right on top of the play. If you want to disagree with him, fine. If you still think the call was a good one, you've got more problems than worrying about a softball game.
  4. It has been explained on this board what happened in the game. I will not go into it again. It's true Shelbyville should have still won the game even with the bad call. They just made too many mistakes. On the other hand, Coffee County made more mistakes and had less hits than Shelbyville. The bad call was the difference. Anyone who disagrees with that does not know softball. Who wants to admit they do not know softball? Speak up or forever hold your peace.
  5. The call was missed. Everybody knows this. What happened after the missed call cost Shelbyville the game. Everybody knows that. Shelbyville still would have won the game if it weren't for 1 defensive error and three baserunning/coaching errors. All three of cc's runs were scored after a badly played bunt. The first cc runner to score should have been thrown out going to third. The Shelbyville player ran her towards third base instead of second and then threw the ball away. That would have been out number 2. The next batter, (or it may have been 2 batters), made an out which would have ended the inning with no runs scored. I don't even want to comment on the baserunning/coaching. But I will. To get one baserunner thrown out is excusable because you are being aggressive. But three? Shelbyville should have won the game 3-0.
  6. I know Columbia is capable of scoring. That is Shelbyville's weakness. This game could go either way. It will probably come down to which team makes the less errors, which doesn't bode well for Shelbyville. I do have faith in the Eaglettes, though. I predict a 4-3 Shelbyville win.
  7. Tullahoma did have a couple of good hits but both runners that scored reached base by error. That makes both runs unearned. The third run came in extra innings, which would not have been played had the two unearned runs not scored. Also, the third run was scored on a passed ball, which makes it unearned.
  8. He only come to town about twice a year. Who r u, bat r up? You have good taste in music.
  9. It was a good road victory for Shelbyville. Take away the errors and they win 2-0. Dye pitched great for 11 innings.
  10. Their pitcher is the real deal. Who knows about their defense. They don't have to use it when the opponents are striking out. They have a couple of good bats but their main weapon is the pitcher. I'm sorry I do not know her name. Would someone help me with it, please? It looks like 8AAA will come down to them and Coffee County. Shelbyville could be a factor if they can get the bats going.
  11. Can anyone give me the highlights/lowlights from this weekend? Thanks
  12. Exactly. I'm glad you agree with me. My point is Shelbyville struggles at the plate. Therefore they need to keep the score as close as possible and hope for a clutch hit to win the game. If you're down 1-0 the game can still be won with 1 or 2 hits. If you're down 6-0,
  13. My comment was not meant to be "smart alec". I was just stating the obvious. The girls know they made the mistakes. Now they need to build from them. I made the comment so people would know Coffee Co didn't "whip" us. It would have been a much closer score (2-0) without the errors. Coffee Co would have still won the game. I do believe Shelbyville will do well this season. I believe we will beat Coffee Co in Shelbyville.
  14. Shelbyville was up to it's usual antics. 5 or 6 errors and a baserunning blunder. Coffee Co played well. Meeks pitched a very nice game. Congrats to the Lady Raiders.
  15. Both pitched well but they did look like freshmen at times. They both have a promising future. I look forward to watching them the next four seasons. Shelbyville just makes to many errors, both defensively and running the bases. I'm not close enough to the team to know for sure but it looks like they have concentration problems. That is a correctable problem, however.
