Yes Oakland has seemed to be rutherford counties answer to the Evil Empire. I guess when you can have players play for a team but attend a different school and even openly recruit players form other surrounding schools with no punitive actions from the TSSAA just to put together a team to beat maryville.

Also I did recognize that alcoa took a play from the Whitehaven program and rushed the Maryville side after the game ended. That is really classless imo. But I guess you just have to consider the source.

That maybe true but I was basing that on record / history. I do find it odd that In recent history they never play each other past week 4. Why is that?

With the exception of a few plays the game that I saw was pretty much a back and forth slugfest. Both teams have plenty to be proud of and should be honored to share the same field with one another. Knowing that there are a mere handful of teams that could play with either of them.

And I would lay odds that many of them never played a down of football themselves.

It really amazes me how some of the maryville fans are so quick to refer to one player as far as the success of the TEAM is concerned. Gloom and doom in the Empire where a losing season is 14-1. What a problem to have.

Or yall could just drink some draino or jump off the 321 bridge because you lost a game.

Rankin is an arrogant pr*#k and I believe that Nix is a much better all around coach that really cares for his players beyond the field. No im not an Alcoa fan.
