Knox Catholic has the worst leadership of any school in this division. They will never have the financial resources as the other DII AAA schools; however, they can’t get out of their own way. The leadership has had MULTIPLE coaches in almost every sport in the past three years. From what I heard Matthews got tired of the horrible leadership here. The hiring of shadowers is further proof of this. Football team will not recover from this latest blunder.

Anyone that knows Steve Matthews knows he is EXACTLY what these kids need. Steve will provide clear leadership and turn that program around quickly. His former players still talk about what he meant to them. I also know first hand how he has still reached out to his former players even though he wasn’t coaching the past two years to see if he could help them with anything. Catholic would be smart to bring him back if he would be interested in coming back. NO ONE cares about his kids more than Steve Matthews!
