Our halftime adjustments might have had a little to do with Westview's "cold". When Riding was on Sims, our defense was clicking. Turner has handled the ball most of the season & she was the one given that responsibility last night in the 4th....smart move by coach to give her that experience and pressure free throws. She handled it well. Proud of the team effort last night & the other girls have been stepping up more & more. Reeves & Lannom deserve a lot of credit, too. I think Reeves was our high scorer last night. Team sport & I'm proud of them! Let's go 7AA!

We don't have a Rivers. I was there & GC had a rough first half - all credit to Westview's game plan.... but Westview only scored 6 points in the 2nd half & 0 in the 4th qtr. The other girls stepped up and showed we can still play & win when Hart only has 11. Westview was definitely fired up in the first with Sims especially. Not sure why we changed our game plan on guarding her & then Riding got 2 quick fouls. I was sure glad to see Riding back on her in the 2nd half. Turner may not shoot a lot, but she does a great job defensively & managing the game. I hope both teams go to Murfreesboro & do well!

Gibson Female Pioneers ARE definitely as good as they usually are. They will not beat Millington or Covington because they do not play them. They play Memphis Trezevant. Gibson Female Pioneers are a whole different team from South Gibson Lady Hornets. Good luck to both Gibson Co teams! I don't claim to be a GERU, but I do know my Gibson Co basketball, so I approve this message.

Oh, I clearly watch. I personally hate hearing "over the back" by fans and didn't really think some of Kee's fouls were fouls. If a player is taller & gets a rebound over another, it shouldn't be a foul unless there was contact. My problem was with crappygenius saying that the reason Cantrell had a good game was because the refs took Kee out of game with fouls. It sucks that the refs can affect a game, but Evyn is a great player & makes things happen. If you watched, then you also know that Hart was getting held. It's part of the game. #14 shut Hart down. My point to him was there were situations on both sides that affected the game. 2 great teams battled it out. Cantrell had a great game & there's no reason to minimize her effort as he did.

What you said was that Cantrell only had a great game cause Kee was WRONGFULLY taken out of the game. I understand you not liking that Kee was in foul trouble. I didn't like that #14 held Hart's jersey all night. But - you can be upset with calls (or lack of) against your team without taking away from the play of an opposing player. If you wanna talk about a player being taken out of the game, you might want to remember that one of our best was taken out by clear fouls not being called on her defender. Pull for your team without disrespecting the other.

Refs were terrible both ways. Excuses aren't a good look. Cantrell had a great game because she is a great player and took advantage of her opportunities. Don't belittle her performance with your excuses.
