  1. Tellico has improved a lot since the Harriman game. They played Oneida and Central pretty tough. Doesn’t look like the same team. They are playing with some fight.
  2. He is a great athlete. He turns the ball over a lot though. I’m not so sure he’s a QB but he appears to be the best option. He was a receiver last season. He misses open receivers and always wants to throw it deep. I’ve watched him look at someone open and then throw it deep into double coverage. He’s a really good runner but they haven’t ran him much. He use to play fearless but he seems like he is playing scared since he’s returned from injury. My son says he acts like he doesn’t want to be out there anymore. There’s no question our defense has been awful this season. My son said Coach White has been a lot more involved in the defense this week and was also calling plays on offense in practice this week.
  3. Ryan Shaffer. He’s a big fast Running back and Linebacker.
  4. That’s the hope. Lost a big senior class last year so many of these kids haven’t played. Only 5 seniors this year and two are first year players. We all knew this year would be a struggle especially when #9 went down. He’s a big difference maker.
  5. Tellico did pull their starters. Second half on offense they had in their 3rd string QB, third string RB, one starter at WR, the 3rd string QB is normally a WR so he was replaced with a young kid. The offensive line is already young with a freshman, two sophomores, two juniors who are in their first year of playing football. The defense had two seniors on the line and the rest were mostly freshmen and sophomores. The entire secondary was freshmen with the exception of one senior who never sees the field. All the linebackers were sophomores. The only kids that didn’t see the field for Tellico were a few freshmen. Tellico just has 12 lineman and 3 are out for the year.
  6. They tacked a lot more on Tellico after Tellico pulled most of their starters at half time. The only starters left on the field was the offensive line and a few sprinkled in on defense. York left their starters in well into a running clock in the 4th quarter.
  7. The QB has been hurt since the Eagleton game. Tellico’s best player tore his ACL in the summer. Tellico is very young this year with only 6 seniors and only 3 have played before this year. They looked good game one until the injuries piled up against Sequoyah. There has been at least 6-7 kids standing in street clothes on the sideline each week since. Tellico pulled most of their starters at the half against York outside the offensive line. York left their starters in most of the game. Tellico lost 3 starters in the 2nd quarter against York to injury including the QB. They were down to the third QB by halftime. Tellico beat Eagleton worse than Oneida when they were fully healthy. Injuries are a part of the game but they can decimate a small school.
