  1. Much worse than I expected. There is no leadership on the field or on the sidelines. I was hoping to slip in as a 4 seed but I don't see that happening. I am looking forward to watching Wattad and crew. Get it on!
  2. Just heard. What a coaching mistake and hard to understand the thinking. Blazer, I've seen them play twice at DB and at thier home vs the Toppers. In those games, the line failed miserably but the offensive play calling was not there. In the second half of the DB game the flow was lost. They had a good first half. Against SH thier QB had no time at all, but he took a beating in both games. He is a warrior on the wrong team. You have to take your hat off to him for being so tough and playing through injuries.
  3. You are not down and out my friend of Cow Town. I know you and your kid and there is no quite in either of you. Step up and take this game and move on. Good luck to your boys tonight.
  4. Guys, we're going down again. SH doesn't have a good leader behind center and the offense is stale. Hate to say it but it's true and we know it. Beardon 28-14
  5. After two setbacks can this coaching staff keep the team together for the duration? Can they still reach the playoffs?
  6. Like I said, send Smith to SH. Cyclones by 13
  7. The more thought I give this one the more I like Cow Town bringing in a BIG W. The word out of Elizabethton is that the light has been turned on?
  8. I don't know enough about Sevier to make a call on this one. I'll get back later after a bit of research. I did like what I saw in our #2 QB last week. Quite a bit of potential there but I understand he was hurt in a JV contest. Why?
  9. North is looking good this year but needs a little more beef in there competition. That will make a difference in this matchup. They are meeting the Cow Towners at a bad time. Cow Town is after thier break out game after three BIG TIME tough outings. North 21 Cow Town 33
  10. Take the ball out of Smith's hands and lessen your scoring possibilities. I've seen Cow Town twice. All I can say is I wish we had him at Spurrier Field this year. GLee is right. Avoid distractions and get on track. You have a better team than you have shown.
  11. PLAIN OLE TOUGH. Congradulations to TN High! Good show Toppers!!!
  12. This one isn't a Cow Towner. If you people think coming on here and bashing your team is going to help them, you are wrong. You have the kind of AD who will make moves in the off season if things aren't flying right. Too bad he wasn't there 4-5 years ago. Get on the Cow Town Wagon and help your team. Quit the bashing. Things will get corrected but it can't be done now!
  13. Watching the Toppers play Cow Town, I saw a hard clean game. Watching the Cow Town at TN High game, well, lets just say there were some very questionable hits going on. I think they'll play hard, but clean? Toppers 21 Vikings 14
  14. We have a dandy team this year and should make the playoffs as a lower seed. The team still must be more disiplined in their execution and not run wild. We have gotten away with that against two descent 4A teams, but it will hurt us against the better 5A competiton. I was also surprised not to see Scott run more in the 2nd half against Cow Town when Duhanah seemed to be taking a break from running hard. A QB change may have been in order in the 2nd half also. We have the core, but need some fine tuning.
  15. The Cow Towners are trully fortunate to have Smith and the group of recievers that he has available. Given time, he'll hit his targets. Even with all of the pressure he hit 7 or 8 different guys last Friday. Why not get on board and help this quality team you have and quit throwing up written road blocks for them. Just maybe the label I put on TV is just the right fit for him. Good luck Cow Town. I'll be there rooting for you. You have a good team and will make a run at the MLC title this year.
  16. True. Cow Town circle up. TV came on here and got everyone stirred up with his moronic trouble making BS and no one has come to his rescue. You better get your kids together and you parents need to stop the useless bickering. The Cyclones are better than what you might think and your QB is tops. Leave him alone. He is a warrior and a QB not to mention one of the top QBs around this area. He also happens to be one of the top FS. GOSH! You people should be thrilled.
  17. Yes, I do have class but some statements are totally moronic!
  18. I agree with Powr, with that pressure on Smith, if he didn't scramble he's got 10-12 sacks. You've got a QB but your line has to do the run block and the pass block to get the job done. That was plain to see. Send Smith to SH!! This TV guy is a moron.
  19. Tradition and the size of our school does help but this isn't your average Cow Town team and the Topper team has a lot to be desired. I attended the Central game and I watched the DB game. This game is going to be close. No one is going to get blown away in this match up. I just hope that SH doesn't underestimate the Cow Town offense or defense. With Cow Town, a called back TD, a dropped TD pass, 2 critical fumbles. We got alot of breaks from Central and they aren't very good. The DB game could have been totally different barring some early season mistakes by Cow Town. They did play really well. Beware Toppers because these Cyclones are for real. TOPPERS 21-20 GO TOPPERS!!!
  20. I watched the replay of DB/Cow Town last night and the Cow Town boys are good. Now whether they can go 4 quarters is yet to be determined. We don't have the depth that DB has and that may play a factor. AJ is still a varsity rookie and still has to prove that the Toppers have a passing game they can go to when needed. The running game is alive and strong, but Central was big and slow compared to Cow Town. They have size up front and move pretty well, although not fast enough for DB. If we can contain Smith to the pocket, which I don't think we can do consistantly, we can win the game. Both teams will have a potent offense for this game but if Cow Town doesn't show a ground game, that may prove to be the difference. Smith carried them for a half vs DB but he simply ran out of steam. Getting him rest so he can guide the offense will be important to his team. Thier recievers catch the ball, for the most part. They did have a couple of crucial drops for TDs and one TD called back vs the Indians. Those changed the game and the Cyclones are a very good team, barring critical mistakes. On the other hand, SH really didn't execute well but good enough to nail a very weak 4A team in Central. Some people don't realize just how bad Central was last week. Too close to call but if Cow Town moves and scores early, watch out!!! When all is washed out, I see SH taking a 21-20 win. Cow Town misses an extra point late in the game after jumping out to an early lead which SH regains early in the 4th.
  21. They will have to prove me wrong, but we don't have the depth you saw at J Fred Friday night. DB has one of the best senior classes in the state. If Smith doesn't get spelled on defense he may only have 3 quarters in him though??? I still want to see that replay before venturing my prediction.
  22. As I said, this team will go as Smith goes. From reading the Press and Tricitiessports.com it is plain to see that Smith can lead the Cow Towners back to some sort of prominence. Along with him must be a pretty good set of recievers but where is the running game? I am looking forward to watching this replay as I'm sure the rest of the Toppers will be. 12-20 187 yards & 12 carries for 55 while being sacked twice and this against the mighty Indians. Pretty much tells the story if he can get more protection. If he can stay healthy, the Cow (Town) boys will make a very legit run at the Mt Lakes title.
  23. I'll watch the DB/Cow Town replay Tuesday and give the closest, non-biased Topper opinion/forcast for Friday's showdown at the Cow Palace.
  24. Tough pick. Dominating ground game vs. a quality passing game I'll think on this one a while longer but it will be a cleaner game by both teams. Game 2 of week 1. This is a huge rivalry that goes back ages. Tradition gives us Toppers the game. It might turn out to who can put up the big numbers on the scoreboard. I don't look for a low scoring game. I think we will be able to move the ball on the gound but I'm not positive that we can stop Cow Town's passing game, or at least, take them out of what they want to do as DB apparently did in the second half. GO TOPPERS!!
