  1. Someone must have posted the score as a joke or a dream because I don't see CC scoring in this one. My guess is Riverdale 3-0.
  2. Lady Warriors from Riverdale are always pretty tough.
  3. St. Andrew's lost to Community twice. Unless St. George is a school for the blind I would say they will win.
  4. It is a force out at first. The run does not count.
  5. It is a force out at first. Run does not count.
  6. CoachT scoreboard shows Oakland won 6-1. The DNJ reports Siegel won 6-1. I am assuming the DNJ is correct since they have the boxscore. Is this correct? The game was played on March 17.
  7. I remember the 2003 Crushers. They played in a tournament I hosted. They were one of the best 8 & under teams I've seen and I've seen a bunch of them. I said the same thing in 2003 about them winning the state.
  8. I have watched them play 5 games this season. Their pitcher (Owens) is one of the best in the state when she is "on", which is most of the time. Their defense is average. They hit well against average pitchers. They do not hit very well against the better pitchers, but not many teams do. With Owens, they are one of the better teams in the state. Fortunately for the rest of us in 8AAA, Owens is showing some wear & tear from, in my opinion, being overused. The last two games I saw her pitch she was not as dominating as she was earlier in the season. I do expect them to win the district tourny but I don't know if they will go much further. Remember, this is just my opinion. Everyone has the right to disagree with it.
  9. Someone please correct me if I am wrong but I believe the scoring happened this way. Shelbyville's batter (Leftrick) was hit by pitch. (The pitch skimmed off the top of her helmet. If you're gonna get hit by a pitch, that's the way to do it). Smith got a hit up the middle moving Leftrick to third. Leftrick then scored on a sac fly by King. Hey JLP, you've been quiet lately. Were you at the game?
  10. This will be my last post on this thread. Thank you for the applause. Everyone who has posted here saying one call can not beat you has brought up the same thing - "if". "If Shelbyville had run the bases better, if Shelbyville had played better defense, if Shelbyville had pitched better, if this & if that". I don't believe in the "ifs". The girls played the game the way they played it. Look at the game the way it was played. Now change the call to the correct call. Shelbyville wins 2-1. It's true Shelbyville could have still won the game with the bad call "if" certain other things had happened. But they shouldn't have had to. They played well enough to win if the correct call had been made. For those of you who think one call doesn't beat you, that's you're opinion. I do not agree with it. Let's just agree to disagree and let that be it. Also, to pedo_29, what is the purpose of your post? Do you think that telling us bad calls DO NOT COST YOU THE GAME is going to change our minds? Oh, wait a minute, pedo_29 said bad calls DO NOT COST YOU THE GAME, so I must be wrong about it. I'm glad you straightened us out. What would we have done without your post? Get real. Didn't your parents teach you it's not polite to tell people to shut up? Especially when you have no clue what you are talking about? Wow, pedo_29 has just saved our season. He has told us the secret to winning. Don't play in close games. Win big. It's that easy. I wish we had known that sooner.
  11. You live in a world of denial. The two Coffee County girls got to stay on base because of the call. The hit that scored them was a good hit but it should have happened in the fifth inning with nobody on base instead of the fourth inning with two on base. The "IF's" are coming from you guys who are saying "if Shelbyville would have played defense or if Shelbyville had run the bases better". I am telling what happened in the game. The umpire blew the call, Shelbyville lost because of it. You know I'm right but you are either too arrogant or just too stupid to admit it. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt and say it's arrogance. I have wasted enough of my time on this thread. denial denial denial
  12. How many times am I going to have to explain this? The missed call would have been the THIRD OUT of the inning. Shelbyville got the final out but had it taken away from them. The ump blew it! Period. I have been around softball for 41 years and I know what I'm talking about. I have won 8 TN State Championships coaching girls from 8 - 16 years old. I have seen everything that can happen in a softball game. Umpires miss calls all the time. I have won games because of a bad call in my favor. I have lost games because of a bad call against me. It happens but that doesn't make it excusable. Anyone who says a bad call can't cost you the game is in denial. You want to know what happened in the last three innings? Shelbyville outscored Coffee County 1-0. Take the 2 gift runs away and Shelbyville wins 2-1. Hummmm.
  13. You're forgetting one very important piece of information. If the umpire had made the correct call at third, the inning would have been over. There would not have been runners on second & third when the ball was hit to score them. The call did beat Shelbyville. You can say "if Shelbyville had done this" or "if Shelbyville hadn't done that", but it doesn't change the fact that the bad call gave Coffee County 2 runs and they won the game by 1.
