  1. you've got to forgive people for that assumption. I mean, MUS has played in 8 of the last 9 state championship games...
  2. Redtwin, Which of those teams are good/bad/etc?
  3. That's right Scales, Long live the king...I'll be there
  4. Round 1 #1 JHU vs #16 Marist HOP #8 Mass vs #9 Syracuse CUSE #3 Maryland vs #14 Penn St MARYLAND #6 Georgetown vs #11 Army ARMY #4 Virginia vs #13 Albany UVA #5 Navy vs #12 Delaware NAVY #2 Duke vs #15 Fairfield DUKE #7 Towson vs #10 Cornell CORNELL Round 2 Hop v. Cuse = Hopkins (4 years going into the tournament at #1 for the hopkins seniors, you have to see them winning this one at home) Maryland v. Army = Maryland (Army will pull one upset with Wagner and Walker leading the charge, but only one.) Virginia v. Navy = Navy (I feel the Navy defense and midfield is too strong for the hoos) Duke v. Cornell = Duke (Those young guys will score against this big red team) Semi-Finals Hop v. Terps (Hop's d is every bit as good as Maryland's, I give hopkins the edge on offense, win by 3) Duke v. Navy (I just love the way these two teams attack the goal, but I'll give Duke the edge in this one, duke overcomes the looney brothers by a couple) Final Duke v. Hop (What I've been waiting for since watching the earlier meeting of these two teams...Harrison's final chance, emergence of huntley, etc v. the ever rising star of danowski and co.) I'll give duke a 11-9 win, just because I like their style
  5. in 1998 CBHS beat MUS at CBHS early in the season and MUS won at MUS in the last game of the regular season (Micah Brafford with the winner in the 4th to win by 1) and MUS beat CBHS for the State Championship on a Jason Lewin shot after Chris Morrison sent the game to ot. That season McCallie missed the playoffs as Webb joined MUS, CBHS, and MBA in Memphis, not sure if the Brothers play the Tornado, I assume if they did they won as they were the number 1 seed in the tournament.
  6. It is a shame that my beloved Rams will not get to take part in the tournament after a great season. Those are the breaks, but a tough end of their career for my senior friends on the team. A USLIA tournament doesn't feel right without them after our 6 consecutive trips to the finals. But the rules are the rules, and that's why you feel better winning the league (state, city, national, etc) than winning a summer league game.... My picks for the tournament Rd 2 BYU/UCSD Noma/CU UCSB/Oakland Michigan/Arizona Semis BYU/Noma UCSB/Michigan Final BYU/Michigan As much as I really HATE to say it, I see byu walking away with their first title since 2000. (at least if that happens, they can say they beat csu this season)
  7. Now I understand that an extra year of experience is always a good thing. But don't you think that CT football is a step down from MBA football? Insert Sarcasm/ Do they even play football in the North?

    MUS vs. CBHS

Redtwin, That game was indeed awesome. Our two games that year were both one goal games, and really helped the MUS/MBA rivalry pick up steam. If your name indicates who you are, I can still remember the difficulty in having you and your brother playing defense. When I could finally get away from 22 for a second, 4 comes flying in with the double... Hope ya'll are doing well
  9. I'm new to the forum, and I wanted to say what's up to everyone and give a shout out to a couple people. I'm interested in watching White Station's progress through the season with one of my best friends coaching the team...Go Whit! I don't really know too much in regards to division II, so any info would be good. I do know that the Spartans have a good guy in charge of their team, I'd want Whit on my team any day of the week. MUS...From Whit and Dom I heard about the tough loss, but it's not the end of the world. I have lost to CBHS before, and believe it or not it builds character. I hope you guys have a great season, and it was fun to check the team out in person last week. So good luck to those of you that I know (you know who you are) and all you Owls that I have not gotten to know. A TN lacrosse forum is the last thing I need right now...Now I have one more tool at my disposal to avoid this Shakespeare paper I'm working on...Cool though

    MUS vs. CBHS

This is my first time to post on here, it's cool that there is a place to discuss TN lacrosse, even though I admit that I don't know as much about it as I once did. In a game as intense as an MUS/CBHS matchup, it is not surprising when a so-called underdog comes in and wins a game. From what I heard from some older buddies at the game, it sounded like a typical MUS/CBHS game (any sport). So good work to the Brothers for not being intimidated and playing a great game. I know that I enjoyed playing CBHS more in 1998 and 2000 when we had close games than in 1999 when they swung a little more in our favor. I hope that you guys on both teams realize the excitement that comes with having great lacrosse against your schools biggest rival. On another note, I hate to see so much hate between the teams. I know that there is certainly animosity during a game with so much emotion, but in reality most of ya'll will find that if you continue to play lacrosse the lines between which school you went to will begin to blur as you get older. Some of my better memphis lacrosse friends are those who played at CBHS when our rivalry was at its peak. I'd like to see pure unadulterated hatred on the field between your teams, but a bit of respect during the rest of the time is not a bad thing to have. Lastly, CBHS was the West division #1 seed during the 2000 season after their victory at MUS and our win at CBHS. This set up a memorable semi-final against MBA, whom we had hoped to play in the final game.
