  1. Does this rule apply to fans as well? I want to cuss every time I see the Pioneers play.
  2. I saw an encouraging sign in the local paper today. It was a picture of the Pioneers actually having a tackling drill. This is the first time I have seen this in the paper. I think this is a good sign. It is obvious if you allow a team to score 50+ points, your team has some issues regarding tackling. I have alot of respect for coach Madewell. He was a hardnosed player back in the day and will do a good job teaching fundamentals to these kids. Good luck to him and the Pioneers.
  3. Pioneer95 when did you play for the mighty Pioneers? If it was 1995 you probably lost quite a few games during your career. If it is OK to call these kids gutless, perhaps you were gutless as well.
  4. Just when I thought WC football had reached the bottom, Tidwell reaches out and drags us down even more. Several have stated this was an accident, I don't doubt that. But, the fact of the matter is this should have never happened Period! Tidwell is responsible for those kids, and should be held accountable for his actions. A one week suspension is a joke. What kind of message does this send in our "zero tolerance" society? I read that Tidwell called the kids gutless during his halftime tirade. These kids are not gutless, they are making the effort to try to turn this thing around. The gutless thing to do would be to quit or not come out for the team because they are not winning. To only have 40 kids out for football in school of 2000 kids is pathetic. The only gutless people I see are the school administrators.
  5. kellraiser, There you go again about degree's and higher education. Do you think you're the only guy on this board that went to college?
  6. Pastpioneer, Do you think I'm the problem? I support the team. I go each year to most of the home games and watch them get killed. I'm tired of it. It embarrasses me as a former player. When I see my friends from out of town they roll their eyes whenever someone mentions WC. I'm sick of it. Again all I said is 1 guy benching over 300 at the lift-a-thon is not acceptable. You should know that. How many coaches have rolled through here in the last decade? How many promises of better days have been made? How many winless seasons have we suffered through? Over the last 10 years we have lost more games than any other program in 5-A. You bet I'm frustrated who would'nt be? I've seen teams lay down and die on the football field and give up 40 points a quarter. I've seen the clock roll through without stopping during the second half just because we are getting killed and the ref's and opposing coaches want to show mercy. Maybe I'm what they need around here. I threw off my rose colored glasses years ago. It is time for some people other than me to be sick and tired of losing. I'm not the problem. I'm about reality. If any coach or player does not like what I write, get on the field and prove me wrong! I've earned the right, both on the practice field and at Nunley stadium, to say anything I want to say about Pioneer football! SportEd was in the band. kellraiser, I don't know or care what he did in High School. I played on a winning team, so did you. My Brothers played on winning teams, I know what it takes to win and so do you. The difference between me and you is that I don't care if people like me or what I say. Sometimes people just don't want to hear the truth!
  7. Obviously I struck a nerve with you sportsEd. I just said it was pathetic to have only one player bench more than 300. I am sick of all of the losing and bad football in WC. But since you have questioned my character, let me tell you something: When you were in the band worrying about getting mustard on your uniform, I was on the field getting bloody with the real men battling the riverdales, the oaklands and the lebanons of 7-AAA. When you were polishing your drums under a shade tree, I was on the practice field sweating out 5 lbs a day during 100 degree August 2-a-days. And when you were sitting in the stands contemplating how the Pioneerettes were so close, yet so far away, I was on the field helping lead the Pioneers to the only winning season we have had around here in 20 years. And they don't give all district to "a piece of scout-team bench meat" So the next time you want to go off on a rant, go find a message board about band camp.
  8. SportsED, The silence is deafening. I see Kellraiser has come to your defense. Kellraiser, I'll ask the same question to you: What is your sports background?
  9. Hey SportsEd, My apologies, I should have said "Award Winning" newspaper. Are you guys competing with high school newspapers when you win those "Awards" every year? Did you attend WCSH? If so what was your sports background?
  10. According to our local rag newspaper, the Pioneers only had 1 player bench over 300 in the lift-a-thon. I believe that says alot about this program and the work they need to do to be able to compete. I'm not blaming the new coach, but the program has been in neglect for a number of years and it shows.
  11. I've been a frustrated pioneer fan for a number a years. I've seen several coaches come and go, with every new coach promising a turnaround. I'll believe it when I see it. My advise: stay off the message boards and hit the weightroom and let your actions speak for themselves on Friday nights.

    Ray Barnes

I played for coach barnes at WC and was wondering if anyone knew how he is doing in the boro. Is he still at Central? He is a class act and a credit to his profession.
