No doubt. The Farragut players will tell you that the District 4AAA tournament was alot tougher than the state tournament last year.

It really doesn't matter who won but it does matter that refs are human and like all humans they do have biases and they do affect the outcome of games. Just for the record. the tape of the game clearly shows that the winning shot was after the buzzer. also the tape shows that two points that were taken away from bearden earlier should not have happened. Refs react to many things including incidents from prior games, coach and fan reactions and comments during the game, etc. There is a great article in the Knoxville Focus newspaper which outlines proper behavior for fans and referees. It points out that refs with "rabbit ears" should get over it and concentrate on the game. I do not in anyway question the integrity of the officials, but I do think there are those who are unable to handle the power and authority that they have been given. I agree that fans shouldn't whine when they lose, but I do believe that 3 refs on the court should be held accountable and do a better job than they did in this game (and others) especially things such as when a buzzer sounds or when a coach calls a timeout.

In the next ten days, the top three will all play each other and I think we will have alot to talk about. I would like to hear your predictions for how the standings will be then.

Its amazing how often fulton is fatigued after a game the day before -especially when they almost loose. And I agree, its not fair for height to be a factor in a basketball game.

Bearden led almost the entire game-by as much as 17 in the first half. fulton hit a rediculous shoot with two seconds to go to win by one. The refs helped FULTON back into the game in the second quarter.

Who won the Bearden - Brentwood Academy game?

Before we go ahead and crown Farragut 2007 champs let's not forget the upcoming senior class at SD and the fact that Bearden has the entire pitching staff back that beat Farragut four times (yes I said four) this year.

Baseballscout - In the past, i have always looked forward to your posts on this site but never again. Your attack on the Bearden baseball program calling it " a disgrace to the integrity of the game" goes way beyond reason and rational thinking and certainly destroys your credibility. Sure the dugout was loud but Bearden has played against many teams where the visiting dugout was loud. In Tullahoma this year Bearden played against a team that used cowbells to make noise. It was obnoxious but not illegal. If there was anything wrong with what Bearden did against WB the umpire should have stopped the game and required them to stop. As to the banter between the players and the conduct on the field, I verify the actions of the WB players as stated in the prior reply and know that there were other inappropriate actions by the WB bench. However, this is not about WB vs Bearden. WB and Bearden played three great baseball games this year and will have many more which we look forward to. The Bearden players and coaches show as much or more sportsmanship as any team in the league. I think most of the players and coaches in the league would agree. BaseballScout, as you totally impartially watch the next Bearden game I hope that you will see the game from both sides and, somehow, maybe restore the integrity of the game as well as your own.

Good post B Ball. Looking forward to the future of Bearden baeball. They may surprise some other teams before this year is over too. Two sophs and a freshman in pitching rotation and younger hitters getting better with every game. Several seasoned veterans provide a potent offense. Great game against SD. Go DAWGS!

They also have 5 post players that weren't on the team last year, one being the son of former Vol Fred Jenkins and good depth in all positions.

Bearden shut down Dye in the Greenville tournament (3 points maybe). White had 31. No comparison.

Bearden has Dawson Halladay who was KIL rookie of the year this year. Also Hunter Daniel and Andy Fennell who were starting pitchers for the varsity this year.
