  1. I don't know the region number but who has the best chance to come out of the west including memphis to take on the middle tennessee AAA teams? Is there anybody that can give middle tennessee a real game? I red about about Bartlett and Millington on this board. There isn't much on Ridgeway. Are they still winning?
  2. Give me a point guard who looks to pass first and gets a kick out of watching her teamates score. These kind of pg don't care about scoring and the spotlight unless the team needs them to put up some points. Lots of times they are the most scrappy on defense. To me they are the classic pg. They might not score much on a lot of nights but they make the team run and make her teamates better. I heard that Lauran Avant can do that at Laussane. I saw her do it in AAU. There was one up in Jackson that I saw, but I can't remember the school. Might have been Liberty Tech. Any others.
  3. Your right. Talk all you want about rankings in memphis. The only ranking that means anything is called STATE CHAMP. And that ranking is not going to memphis until they learn to play basketball. Basketball is a TEAM sport. You do not win titles without disapline. Most of the memphis teams do not know what TEAM means and disapline well that only gets in the way of of my spotlight. Don't take me wrong. memphis could win. So many athletes come out of that part of the state. But you got to have more than that. The next state champ is coming out of middle tennessee where they know that.
  4. how did you learn about team pride. Not many people have seen them play this year because I checked. What is the weakness of Tn Elite against team pride. Tn Elite and the Miles team are in the same pool. How do they match up.
  5. 1st - team pride or tn elite = 7th seed 2nd - one of them = 9th seed 3rd - memphis elite = 9th seed Do all these teams have bids to nationals already. If they do, then that's good news for the 4th, 5th, 6th place teams at states.
  6. Havent heard much about the James team except they beat up on the other 14u Elite team every time they play. What has the James team done to make you think they can beat the Pride or Tn Elite. Remember what happen to that Tigers team last year. Everybody thought they were going to take nationals and they got beat good by the Pride.
  7. Looks like everybody expects Team Pride to be 14u Tn State Champs next weekend. Who will be taking the 2 9th seeds. From the little I heard, Jackson's TN Elite are real good and will surprize some people. Full of shooters and they will scrap.
  8. Lauren Avant. Played with the 13u Memphis Elite/W TN Tigers in AAU last year. She played up. That team really took it to Heritage and probably should have won.
  9. So from what I can tell, there was some rough play and one of the parents got mad. I can tell you that when I went to the first states for our team, I was shocked at how rough the play was. It's even rougher at nationals. So I can understand how that parent must have felt when he saw his team having to deal with it. But the fact is, if you're going to compete at the championship level in aau, you have to play by NCAA WOMENs rules - not little girls rules. You can argue whether that's right or wrong but you can't argue whether that's the way it is or not right now. The NCAA Womens game is rough. The best thing to do is to teach your girls the fundamentals and I'm not talking about how to shoot a free throw or dribble a ball - I'm talking about how to establish position and keep it - how to stay low on defense- how to stay balanced and in control - and other things that will put the girls in a better way to compete in the physical game. Those are just some of my thoughts. No harm intended.
  10. newtoaau: I was just about to post the same thing. You beat me to it. Tn sent 7 teams last year and it looks like at least most of the same 7 are going back. I'm got to go with most of what everybodys been saying about the favorites. The West Tn Tigers are a no brainer for 1st. Shelbyville and Team Pride ought to be 2nd and 3rd but the Pride could knock off Shelbyville for to get to the final. After that who knows.
  11. Has anyone been to YBOA Nationals? How is it compared to AAU in level of competition and the way the tournament is run? If you know anything, let me know.
  12. Well, if it is true that she knows what you're posting and she's ok with it, then enuff said about her. Too bad. I'd heard good things about her.
  13. OK. I get it now. This is not about promoting Tiffany. It's about you and your hate for sports shop. Give it a rest...
  14. showtime7: I'm sure if you thought about it, you'd know that quote wasn't appropriate. The players need you and you need them. They bring the talent, desire, and effort. You help them to take what they have and mold it so that they can meet their goals. When they take their talents AND the lessons you taught them, they do well and that reflects well on your organization. The Tiffany's of the world are just as justified to claim they made your organization as you are to claim that you made them. And in my opinion, you'd both be wrong.
  15. CPGB06: Does Tiffany know that you're making these posts promoting her because you are not doing her any favors. If your posts represent the way she operates, I wouldn't want anybody's little girl under her influence. Right now, I'm assuming she has no idea that your making these posts.
