  1. Who should be all-state and who should make all region? A list from each region would be nice. I'm sure ydet can give a nice report from the middle, as well as hoya75 from the east. Any help from the west is appreciated.
  2. This sort of goes back to the East v. Middle v. West. The combined losses for all teams playing over 10 games (East: Baylor, Mccallie, Notre Dame, Catholic, and Webb. Middle: BGA, Father Ryan, MBA, USN, BA, and PJPII. West: CBHS, MUS, ECS, and Briarcrest. These are the teams I used.) in each region is: East- 16 losses, Middle-26 losses, West, 15 losses. Of these losses, East teams have beaten other East teams 8 times, 50% of the whole region's losses. The Middle teams have beaten each other 10 times, 38% of the whole region's losses. The West teams have beaten each other 2 times, 13% of the whole region's losses. The fact is that the East beats up on each other.
  3. You gotta like these matchups. Catholic and Webb in the first round, as well as Notre Dame and Mccallie. Two big rivalries. With Catholic just beating Webb 4-1, a decisive margin, they should be the favorites to win that game, although, in the playoffs, espcially with a rivalry that big anything can happen. The first Notre Dame - Mccallie game was very intense, as the crowd showed. I think Notre Dame was so shocked that they got scored on so early, they weren't able to recover. All that is behind them now, so this game should be even better with a state birth on the line. With a big win over their rival Catholic, they should be poised and ready to play. Its still nearly impossible to call, although, the slight edge goes to Mccallie seeing how they did beat ND before, BUT anything can happen. Looks for another good region tournament. Anyone wanna share predictions as well as an all-region team?
  4. No, it's cool. After reading it again, it doesn't have the tone I thought. I just wanted to get the point across that it wasn't like he got megged. It was just a deflection is all. But I don't think anyone was offended.
  5. I expect Notre Dame to make it to Memphis and here is why. Defense wins championships, and defense is what Notre Dame has. Starting with a senior goalkeeper, and invaluable asset come tournament time, all the way through all their defenders. Notre Dame is a solid defensive team. Its going to be tough, but I know that they have as good a chance as anyone with arguably the best defense in state.
  6. As far as skill goes (keepers included): 1. Storm Clifton* 2. Robby Miller* 3. Jeff Kedrowski* 4. Austin Lewis* 5. Patrick Johnson* 6. Chris Bach 7. David Rowland 8. Andrew Gamble* 9. Daniel Tackling 10. Carlos Sanchez This is just from the Chattanooga area, and on any day, any of these could be 1-10. *PSA all the way!
  7. Three of the top Five teams in DII are nicknamed the Fightin' Irish (Father Ryan, Notre Dame, and Knoxvill Catholic). Just an observation I thought I'd point out.
  8. He says as his signature reads "I am the greatest".
  9. Seriously, when you look at the teams in the state, if you took the top 8 and took those to state, 4 could easily come from the east, with Webb making a case. Oh well, that jus makes the region games alot more intense, if thats even possible.
  10. To say he got megged is extremely misleading... The ball went through his legs, but only after he made the save. Had the Mccallie guy not be streaking down the field, Robby would have just turned around and picked it up. Getting megged gives a negative feel to it, when in fact, he made a good save to keep it out, which is his job. Sorry if this sounds defensive, but Robby is a friend and teammate and he deserves better than that.
  11. Notre Dame lost, but you got to keep it in perspective (this is mainly for the players, I'm not attacking anyone for Mccallie or anywhere else). You are still 11-1-1, and still have only allowed 2 goals in 13 games, both very impressive. Mccallie is a GREAT team who only has one in state loss. Losing that game is nothing to be ashamed of and hopefully you can put all that behind you and just do what needs to be done. Best of luck to Notre Dame the rest of the season (Why does the East region have to be so hard, and yet, it gets the least number of representatives for state??)
