  1. TheAfterMath... The word you are looking for is "credentials". You may be confused with the "Prudential Life Insurance Company". Catwatch... I don't want to kill you! LOL! AND... last but not least... Mister Matt King #62... It is good to hear you are so supportive of your fellow players. You have to keep that positive outlook or the Booster Club President (your Mom) will be doing all that work for nothing. You should get high praises from your Coach with your positive outlook and attitude. Why did you bring Clinton up in your post? It looks like Clinton bulletin board material to me! Oops... the Coach won't like that. I hope the Coach doesn't read your post or your playing time may be limited. [Edited by ohreally on 8-22-02 11:10P]
  2. Gut feeling. The Maryville scrimmage. Lack of offense. Fumbling. Defense? Take your pick. SC gets up to play Oak Ridge.
  3. SirPettis says "Coach Gray makes the offence desitions". English translation, "Coach Gray makes the offense decisions." [Edited by ohreally on 8-12-02 8:34P]
  4. SirPettus, You continue to amaze me with your composition skills. Each time you post on this message board, it makes me wonder how Oak Ridge High School can claim to be one of the top schools in the country. Again, SirPettus, if you are going to continue to post messages about Coach LUSSIER, at least spell his name correctly.

    The Lock

StanTrott, Good question. I thought it was an interesting debate, too. Apparently, there are two factions in Oak Ridge. One faction wants a change in Oak Ridge while the other faction wants the status quo. Whenever the Oak Ridge debate gets into full throttle, someone throws a pipe in the spokes. Too bad that thread got locked. We were starting to hear from individuals who have never posted before including players, parents and boosters. Oh, well.
  6. I think this is a fabricated story just to get a thread going about Oak Ridge. The story is too unbelievable. It is impossible to get confirmation on stories made up on the internet.
  7. Congrats to the Wildcats! The Maryville Rebels will take on Oak Ridge this Friday. Should be a great game!
  8. Centerfield, You are right! The coach was right and the punishment was fair. The coach never has made a mistake and never will make a mistake. What made me think he had made a mistake in this incident? The team, as well as the assistant coaches, were wrong to feel nausiated at the situation. Everyone is wrong except for the coach. Sorry! My mistake for thinking the punishment could have been handled in a different manner.
  9. Centerfield, Teaching personal responsibility is admirable. However, the punishment should fit the crime. Perhaps we should start giving lethal injections to jaywalkers or kick all the players off the team who can't hang up their uniforms to the coach's expectations! I hate to think what that player will tell his family when they can't find his picture in the yearbook or football program. "Gee, Mom! I forgot my socks so the coach sent me home!" What a wonderful high school memory for that player and his family! Somebody pinch me so I can wake up and find this is all just a dream. [Edited by ohreally on 8-4-02 8:24P]

  11. From now on all the Oak Ridge players will realize how important it is to wear the right socks! The attention to details, micromanaging, and displays of power are some of the personality characteristics that the coach regularly displays. Good luck to the Wildcats! Remember to wear the right socks!
  12. What happens in Oak Ridge on Friday that will determine the outcome of the 2002 season?
  13. Education is a valuable commodity.
  14. I don't believe he mentioned anything about another coach leaving. If he did, I missed it.
  15. The other day Coach Lussier was on the Dewey Warren (Swamp Rat) radio program. Coach Lussier stated that he has around 85 players out for football this year. Lussier added that this number could drop as the 2-a-days commence.
  16. Again, I see why my parents are stressing the importance of education.
  17. fbwiz, I appreciate your compliment. I hate what is going on in Oak Ridge. I have to keep reading the sign in my kitchen that says, "This too, will pass." [Edited by ohreally on 7/26/02 1:01P]
  18. rabidwildcatfan, You have an interesting point of view. I strongly agree with you that many of the problems with the kids starts at home. What happens to the kids who have one parent or no parents? Who is going to step up and try to get those kids back on the right track? For example: I knew one kid who did not know who his father was, his mother was a crackhead, and the kid had zero supervision. The kid could have been a top athlete at the high school, but he gave up on himself when everyone gave up on him. The last time I saw him he had just gotten out of jail, he was stoned out of his mind, and he had no hope for the future being anything different than what he had experienced since the age of 11. What a waste! Yes, many of the kids simocleo mentioned have problems. Is it time to give up on them? Where do you want to draw the line? Give up on them at 14, 15, 16, 17, or 18 years old? Give up on them now so society can pick up the tab for the rest of their miserable, wasted lives. I don't blame the coaches for the kids' behavior. But, I do hold coaches responsible for at least trying to get a kid pointed in the right direction. Sometimes, the ONLY structure these kids have in their lives is through involvement in athletic programs at school. What a waste to give up on these kids when they are so young. If the coaches have made a real effort in helping these kids, I commend them. If the coaches gave it their best effort and failed to make and impression, that is all we can ask. Alas, then there is another problem that arises! If the coaches spend all their time on the trouble-makers, how does that make those student athletes feel that do everything the way they are supposed to. They make their grades, stay out of trouble, and always give 110% on and off the field. How do they feel when the trouble-makers get all the breaks and all the "special attention"? Glad I'm not a high school coach! [Edited by ohreally on 7/25/02 11:18A]
  19. The team with the toughest schedule has to be any team that suffers through year after year of losing records, dwindling fan support, zero booster club support, and hand-me-down uniforms.
  20. We are traveling down a slippery slope in the Oak Ridge community. Many people in Oak Ridge are not allowed to express their opinion, ask questions, or take an unpopular position on a controversial subject. The powers-that-be in Oak Ridge will threaten lawsuits or run you out of town on a rail if you make waves or refuse to share their beliefs. I am deeply concerned to learn that the Managing Editor of The Oak Ridger newspaper (the only local newspaper in Oak Ridge) was fired. He was fired because he refused to write an editorial endorsing the Referendum coming up for vote in the August election. I thought this kind of thing only happened in Mexico and some South American countries. I am thankful that we can all get on this message board to express our opinions, exchange our thoughts, share ideas, and ask questions. However, it would be more constructive if we could attack each other's arguments rather than attacking each other. Smart people may know all the right answers, but intelligent people know all the right questions! [Edited by ohreally on 7/24/02 11:20P] [Edited by ohreally on 7/25/02 7:03P]
  21. simocleo, Here are my opinions (per your request): 1. Do you see any changes being made in Oak Ridge if they have the same kind of season they had last year? NO 2. What players are missing from the upcoming OR squad that could make definite contributions? NO IDEA, THAT IS WHY I ASKED CATWATCH THE QUESTION. 3. Who will win the Anderson County/Oak Ridge game this year? Oak Ridge, I HOPE! 4. What do you think Oak Ridge's record will be this year? I HAVE NO IDEA, THAT IS WHY I ASKED CATWATCH THE QUESTION. I HAVE NOT SEEN THE SCHEDULE OF OAK RIDGE OPPONENTS, YET. 5. Do you currently have a son on the OR football team? NO 6. Who would you like to see take the leadership role in Oak Ridge? Andy Shattuck (if they have to hire a head coach from existing staff); or Coach Stevens, Graham, or Tillman of AE (if they go outside current staff to look for head coach candidates) 7. Do you support the OR Football Boosters in any way? NO. I used to, but I don't have the time or the money to help out right now. I hope to become involved in Football Boosters again in the future. Sorry, I can't be more specific with my answers. I have been away from the program too long to form any intelligent opinions or make any predictions. GO CATS! [Edited by ohreally on 7/24/02 10:35A]
  22. catwatch, I have a few questions for you: Do you see any changes being made in Oak Ridge if they have the same kind of season they had last year? What players are missing from the upcoming OR squad that could make definite contributions? Who will win the Anderson County/Oak Ridge game this year? What do you think Oak Ridge's record will be this year? Do you currently have a son on the OR football team? You seem quite sure that leadership is the problem in Oak Ridge. Who would you like to see take the leadership role in Oak Ridge? Do you support the OR Football Boosters in any way? Thanks for your time. [Edited by ohreally on 7/24/02 7:36A]
  23. boorelly, Stan Cooper pretty much ran things for Lawrence Hahn at the Boys Club of Oak Ridge. If he does still work at the Boys Club it is on a very limited basis or only when they need his expertise. Stan should have much more time for his family now that he has a new job away from the Boys Club. AND... Yes, Stan does look a lot like Emmitt Smith! AND... Yes, Stan was a running back for the Oak Ridge football team. I believe Stan scored the winning TD in the OT game against Farragut back in 1988.
