  1. Basketball season is over, and spring is in the air. Man, I LOVE SOFTBALL SEASON. The Gordonsville girls made huge strides as a team last year and should be better this year. As soon as Rachel, Jessie, and Britt get their minds right for softball this team should be something to watch. Lots of speed at the top, power at the middle, and good prospects at the end of the lineup. Setter, I promise you the catcher situation will be fine.
  2. Don't count Celina in the Championship so quickly. They will have to play either Pickett Co or Gordonsville on Wednesday night to get to the championship game on Thursday. Pickett Co has beaten Celina once late in the year and Gordonsville beat Celina both times they played them this year. It's not a given that Clay Co. will even make it to the title game.
  3. Gordonsville - Pickett Co - Trousdale Co - Clay Co.
  4. I KNEW BETTER THAN TO LEAVE AT HALFTIME! DANGIT.
  5. It'll be Westmoreland and Gordonsville in the finals. Gordonsville beat FCS 46-39.
  6. Sleep, don't go and jinx the boys. They still have two tough games to play in this district tourney, regardless of who they face. I think they are showing plenty of focus right now and will be tough to stop, but anything can happen on any given night. If they come out and shoot the ball the way they have been the last few games, well.......
  7. It's going to be tough for Gordonsville to beat FCS for the third time in a year, but I believe they will. Westmoreland should handle Watertown rather handily.
  8. Muffin, do you have a schedule for the rest of the tournament?
  9. Gordonsville wins 87-51. Gordonsville led 37-4 after one quarter with John Austin scoring 20 in the first. The starters sat out the last three quarters.
  10. TC by 10. The most improved team in the district since the first of the year.
  11. I went to VUMC today and things looked better today than they have in a week. Chad is responding to stimulus and all of his vital signs look to be in good shape. They also took him off the respirator for a couple of hours and Chad was able to maintain breathing on his own. He was put back on it, to keep from fatiguing him too badly. Good news all around. Keep fighting Chad. The Northfield kids miss you.
  12. Bulldog0, If a team is ranked number one, then anyone who disagrees with that ranking would consider them overrated. Let's compare the schedules: Gordonsville and Clay County split, with each winning at home. I don't want to hear your excuses about injured or suspended players because injuries are part of the game and suspensions happen for a reason. It's not Gordonsville's fault that the injuries or suspensions happened just before CC played GHS. Clay County____________________Gordonsville RBS 1-1-------------------------------------------RBS 2-0 Monterey 2-0--------------------------------------Monterey 1-0 Friendship 1-1-------------------------------------Friendship 2-0 Smith Co 0-1--------------------------------------Smith Co 2-0 Pickett Co 1-1-------------------------------------Pickett Co 0-1 Hermitage Springs 2-0---------------------------Hermitage Springs 2-0 Van Buren 0-1------------------------------------Van Buren 2-0 According to the information in the schedules section, Clay County is 7-5, Gordonsville is 10-1 against common opponents. The best that CC can end up is 8-5 and the worst GHS can do is 10-2. The region tournament will be here quick enough. We'll let the teams hash this out then and settle all bets.
  13. I believe the region will come down to four teams: Clarkrange, Westmoreland, and Gordonsville, with Clay County having the potential to upset some teams to get to substate. Clarkrange has been strong all season, Westmoreland can play with anyone if they do not get into foul trouble, and Gordonsville is undefeated against 7A (they haven't played Clarkrange). If Clay County can beat Jackson County, then they are capable of beating anyone. Any thoughts from anyone?
  14. All of our thoughts and prayers go out to Chad and his family.
  15. Does anyone have any idea what the schedule for the district tournament at Watertown will look like? I know the first roung games are played on the higher seed's home court this year, and the rest of the tournament is scheduled for Wed, Thur, and Fri of that week. What I'm trying to find out is if the girls are playing Wed, the boys on Thurs, or what. PLEASE HELP!
  16. Gordonsville 58 - RBS 42. Good game girls.
  17. Gordonsville 57 - RBS 29. Good old fashion, behind the woodshed, butt spanking.
  18. RBS blowed 'em out by a whole bunch.
  19. Grooms is the PG you're thinking of. I have him on the first team.
  20. No opinions from anyone from Westmoreland, Friendship, Gordonsville or anywhere else for that matter?
  21. Boys, I just got home and sat down to read a little CoachT before hitting the sack and low and behold, somebody has done riled up my boy Vaden22. I'm really looking forward to Friday night now. This might get better than the entertainment in the bleachers at Watertown on Monday night. Stan, don't back down so easily. This was getting pretty entertaining until you decided that you really didn't want anyone to answer you. Keep up the insults and threats at least until Friday so we'll have something to read until then. If you want to kiss and make up at about 3:00 Friday afternoon, that's fine. Just don't give in so quickly. I saw Harris play for a couple of years at Watertown. While I admit he was a decent player at Watertown, he was a long way from having "mad skillz." Now that I think about it, if he can play JV ball at Bethel maybe I should call them. I've still got four years of eligibility left. And yeah Big un, you know I've got your back.
  22. There is a similar thread about another district. I'm wondering if anyone has any opinions concerning district 8A. Gordonsville and Westmoreland will probably dominate any awards given. Here's my opinion: Coach of the Year - Watson, Gordonsville MVP - Austin, Gordonsville Offensive Player of the Year - Bonner, Westmoreland Defensive Player of the Year - Harville, Gordonsville Game of the Year - Gordonsville - Westmoreland, Feb 6, OT game First team Austin, Bonner, Custer, Grooms, Harville I know this is lopsided on my part. But with Gordonsville going undefeated in the District, as well as carrying a number one ranking, it's hard not to consider them for most of the awards. There are a number of players that deserve credit for the contributions to their teams and I didn't mean to leave anyone out. Rowe from Watertown, Gaines from Friendship, DeLong from VBC and Pryor from Trousdale are all deserving of recognition.
