Most unbelievable game i have ever seen. Game went 3 overtimes before Dekalb finally prevaled. Smith co is the scrappiest team i have seen in awhile. Both teams played their hearts out and you just hate to see either team lose. Dekalb is a gritty team that never quits, they had a 14pt lead with about 1 minute to play in the 3rd quarter and smith cut it to 5 going into the 4th quarter. Dekalb hit a buzzer beater to send it to overtime and another shot with 2seconds to play in the first overtime and another 3pointer with 2seconds to play in the second overtime. Dekalb finally pulled away with some crucial free throws in the 3rd overtime. Dekalb shot 13-32 from the line, Smith was 19-21 with 10 3pointers. Great game that i wish everyone could have seen. My hats off to both teams on a great played game.

Culleokarep thanks for all the info, that is great. So a guy named shankel is their best player and can shoot the three. What are some other good three point shooters. Do they play good man or zone against you guys and did they press you alot to get back in the game. Cant remember the best ball handlers name. Are they a deep team or not. Did you guys play man or zone against them i want to know what to watch for. Any details to how this team is playing and who their main guys are. Do they shoot alot of threes or are they a post team. I know Coach Reasonover is doing a great job with the girls team and was just wondering about the boys team. I will be attending the two days at the eagleville tournament and just wanted to know what to look for. Any details very much appreiciated.

What time does the game start on Monday between Forrest and Dekalb Co. Who all plays in this tournment. I know the host school eagleville but who is the other team and all their start times of each game.

I like Dekalb over York. Dekalb playing well and York struggling a little bit. York very dangerous at home.

What a game Dekalb has the ball at the end to tie or win and didnt get a shot with turnover. Livingston made two free throws with two seconds to go to put the game away. A game that could have went either way. Livingston is a solid ballclub and i think Dekalb earned thier respect. The two best teams in the district that will meet again down the road with another barnburner in store. What did everyone else think. I know its early but i like these two teams. Both solid teams.

Should be a good game, going to be alot closier than people anticipate. Dekalb is a good ballclub playing really well right now. Could be an early preseason game between two good ballclubs. Dekalb wins a close game because that is how they are use to playing games. I predict an upset at livingston. Thats why they play the game. Livingston is definitley the best team in the district on paper, but dekalb is solid team ballclub. Just the way i see it and just my opinion.

Is there any team in the district that can beat Livingston. If so who? Livingston is playing really well, but i think they can still be beat but it would take playing a good game. Upperman and Dekalb co. could give livingston a game after watching them play each other last night. Two quality teams but just not as deep as livingston. Anybody have any opinions.

the district got underway on tues night with upperman pulling out a big win over smith co. on the road. After tonights games that makes 4-0 for the road teams. This is a wild and wacky district that will be up for grabs all year long. Livingston must have been very impressive to beat the preseason #2 on the road like that. Smith co. bounced back with a good win. And dekalb went to their rival cannon co. and got a big win to start the season. Livingston may be the team to beat but it is a long season. Upperman vs dekalb on tues. night i cant wait to see these two teams play.

THe district gets started tomorrow with 4 teams playing. Smith co. vs Upperman and Dekalb co. vs Jackson co. How does everyone see these games turning out. We are now starting the best part of the season what everyone starts playing for a district title. Still think it is a wide open district but that is why they play the games. Livingston is the heavy favorite with everyone else battling for positons. Should be a great year cant wait. I havent heard anything about Ledbetter. Probably just a rumor. District 7-AA is looking pretty good so far against alot of teams early on. Livingston looks real strong and will only get stronger. Havent heard much about upperman how are they doing. Smith co. plays extemely hard from what ive heard. York will definitley be a threat. Dekalb co. looks good early on with all of their losses of key players. Cannon is struggling but will be very tough. Jackson co. very young but will improve as the season moves on. Give some thouhgt at this early stage of the season. Question is can anyone capable in the district of knocking off livingston. Guess we will see. I think it is very possible is a very long season.

I think on any given night there is always a possibility any team can be beat. I think Jackson co. has just as good as chance as anybody to be very competitive in this wide open district race. Who is your first district opponent. Wait i just looked it is Dekalb Co. are they going to be any count this year. Whos looked good early on. York got a big win at boyd buchanon, cannon co. two tough losses but will be good later on no doubt. Smith Co. plays real hard and very competitive. Livingston now will get those football players back and get everything on track and congragulate them on a wonderful season in football. Jackson Co. very young but always dangerous and DeKalb Co. already has two early season wins over our region foes. They beat portland and east literature and already beat greenbrier in the preseason. I know to early to tell about everyone but a good start for a team that is picked at the bottom of the district. I saw them play east lit. friday and did not look bad at all. Play extremely hard. Havent heard much early on about Baxter but they are extremely well coached. Good luck to all teams.

anybody have any preseason predictions for this district. I know people predict livingston to win the district but what order do you think the other teams will finish. WHo will disappoint and who will surprise. Give a preseason rank and some thoughts on each team.

What are the preseason rankings for 7-AA because i havent seen any. Are they in some paper or on a board. Alot of good teams in district but just wondering where these rankings are would like to see them. I think this district is more even then people think. Just have to wait and see how it plays out.

Things run in cycles in this town some times there are more kids from under the hill that make the team but lateley it seems there have been more kids from up here that have just happened to make the team. when you talk about coaches already having thier team picked are you talking about the boys or girls coach, and if that is the case what players do you think should have or should not have made the team, i thought there where polictics in every sport but not basketball since the old coach left. underthe hill kids have been someof the best players for the boys program Dillard and randolph. Hale and robinson. So who specifically are you saying uses the good ole boysyystem to pick their team I love Dekalb co. basketball and it is bad since you really enjoy soccer to want each progaram here to lose since soceer is not as popular as the other sports but i think they are doing a good job with the soccer program. I support every sport and evey year some one gets on here and bashes the program Whataboutfutbol i hope soceer continues to grow and that those coaches that coach other sports will give everyone a fair chance

Does anyone know who did make all-tournament team and who was named MVP? Sure would like to know. That was a good question jobug.

What seems to be all the problems with York that are appearing on alot of other posts. I see a very talented team that has a couple of go to guys with alot of role players. Is there more than what we see. Just wondering becasue i see a good basketball team with a good tournament tested coach. They beat a good DeKalb Co. team and will give Upperman a great game. Is a big intense rivalry. will be a very physical game. It seems from reading other posts that this team does not get along or their is alot of jealousy on the team.
