Midway 42-26 we fell apart. 5 turnovers will do that.

Went as well or maybe better than I expected it could. Congrats to Hampton, rooting for you all the rest of the way of course.

Just need to leave the game healthy. Would like to see us try some different things offensively. We likely won’t have much time to let out deep pass plays develop, would like to see some more short stuff outside of just screens.

Definitely won’t be overlooking them, especially at Cosby. Hate that we lost our last game after Hampton, but the week off after Hampton and before the playoffs might be a blessing.

HV looks improved from earlier, but gotta think the Landers line will have a field day on both sides of the ball in this one.

Well, it looks like Jenkins, KY has called it a season and forfeited their remaining games so this game against Cosby is our chance at 7 wins this year. I know Cosby had to cancel last week so hopefully this game can happen. Lot of respect for Cosby, but would have to think we are a pretty heavy favorite going into this one.

Tonight was the most impressive to me. Nothing was going right for us. Offense couldn’t find a rhythm, turnovers, penalties, not sure the exact numbers, but I’d be shocked if Claiborne didn’t win time of possession 3 to 1, but we hung around and found a way.

Unaka holds!!!! Final 14-12!!!! Hats off to Claiborne, that was a muddy, mess, chippy game from start to finish. Their defense gave us a fit. Bit of controversy at the end on whether or not the clock should of stopped and Claiborne got 1 more play. Their coaches are not happy.

Another unsportsmanlike after the kickoff we have to be more disciplined and keep our mouths shut.

1st and goal Unaka 3 minutes left.

Stupid stupid penalties. Had a 2nd and 35. But we somehow overcame it and got a first down.

Rangers D with a huge stop on 4th down gets us the ball on the right side of the 50. Probably do or die here. If we don’t score not sure we get the ball back.

End of 3 still Claiborne 12-8 Unaka turns it over in on downs inside the red zone to end the quarter. Both teams struggling with the weather and field.

Well, personal foul after our score and a kick out of bounds gave Claiborne a good start. Then a flat out awful PI call sealed the deal and we gave up a score before half. Claiborne 12-8. Claiborne gets the ball to start the second half.

It’s awful. Field is a mess.

Unaka recovers back to back fumbles. The first one we went 4 and out without gaining a yard. The second we punched in from short. Rangers 8-6. Our offense has really struggled so far though.

0-0 after the first quarter. Unaka had 1 drive that got inside the 20 and ended with a turnover on downs. Claiborne has had a long drive and got inside the 20 themselves but are looking at a 4th and 12 to start the second quarter.

Would feel pretty good about a Landers W if this was in Roan Mountain. Think it will be a close one in Unicoi.

My only goal for the Hampton game is to leave as healthy as possible. With that said we should be able to handle Jenkins the week after Hampton still, they lost 30-0 to the team we beat last week. Hopefully, no one is out for the playoff game. It will be difficult no matter who we end up seeing, but I’d like to at least see where we are at full strength.

This is what I was leaning towards. I don’t know how well we can stop them, but if we can turn it into a high scoring game then I like our chances.

Thank you! I don’t think there is any match up out of your Region that would be good for us, but it will be good to host a playoff game. It has been fun to watch this bunch this year though. Credit to Coach Bennett they have truly gotten better with every game.
